Climate Jobs
Are you proactive, highly organised and an excellent communicator? Do you want to use your skills to help drive progressive change? We’re a fast-paced and friendly employee-owned digital agency that works a four-day week, and we’d love to hear from you.
The role
As Forward Action’s Partnerships Officer, you’ll support the Partnerships Director to build and maintain strong relationships with our partners, so we can help them achieve change on everything from climate change to refugee rights.
In this fast-paced role, you’ll manage the administration side of our partnerships, from initial contact and briefing, through proposal management, all the way to issuing contracts and drafting scopes. You’ll work across multiple projects and deadlines, managing processes, organising meetings, following up action points, and keeping accurate partnership records.
You’ll champion the partner experience and ensure we always deliver value. This includes meeting with organisations to explore their goals, and briefing colleagues on new partners’ needs. You’ll also lead on our marketing and webinar programme, coordinating plans and working with colleagues and freelancers to deliver outstanding content.
This is a busy role with lots of opportunities to learn new skills, and you’ll be supported by a kind, open and inclusive team. We prioritise work/life balance, offering flexible working and a four-day week. As a Forward Action employee, you’ll co-own the company and share in its success.
About you
You’ll have experience as an account manager or another relationship-based role in fundraising, events, sales or marketing. You might have worked in an agency or the NGO sector, but this isn’t essential.
You’ll be highly organised, thrive on working quickly and efficiently, and have a sharp eye for detail. You’ll also be proactive, process driven, and an excellent problem solver who’s always keen to improve the way we do things. And as the first point of contact for many of our partners, you’ll be a great communicator who’s brilliant at building relationships.
Crucially, you’ll be excited by the work we do and passionate about your role in helping our partners deliver real world change.
As a mission-led organisation, we exist to try to make the world a fairer, more equitable place. That includes working to build a truly diverse, inclusive workplace and sector. We are therefore particularly keen to receive applications from communities that experience discrimination, for example on the basis of race, disability, socio-economic status or gender identity.
We believe in principles of anti-oppression and are proud to be undertaking a review of our policies, practices and processes to ensure we’re embedding them internally, as well as in our work with partners.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is a charity that builds thriving communities through effective philanthropy, matching investment to the needs of small charitable groups. We fund around 200 grassroots organisations each year, giving around £2m annually to tackle priority issues. These organisations offer excellent value for money, but often go under the radar of funders because they are too small to afford comms and fundraising.
In November 2023 we published the second edition of Oxfordshire Uncovered, our flagship report that sets out priority need areas for Oxfordshire over the coming years. Our county’s wealth, success and beauty hide a number of serious and shocking social problems, including poverty, poor education and health, crime, and homelessness. The pandemic and the current huge increases in the cost of living have made these issues worse, while the climate crisis is becoming ever more urgent.
We recently received an ‘A’ rating in an independent assessment of transparency, accountability and diversity by the Foundation Practice Rating and we are an accredited member of UK Community Foundations, a network of foundations across the UK. We work with philanthropists, businesses and the public sector, pooling their funds so that they can make a bigger difference together.
We are a small, friendly team. OCF is committed to creating an inclusive working environment where everyone can flourish whilst contributing to our mission. About Global Witness
Our goal is a more sustainable, just and equal planet where humanity is propelled forward, away from the toxic practices of the past. This means fossil fuels staying in the ground, climate-critical forests standing tall and those on the frontline fighting the climate crisis, who defend our planet, are protected from persecution and attacks.
We want justice for those disproportionately affected by the climate crisis: people in the global south, indigenous communities and communities of colour, women and younger generations. And that the necessary energy transition is done equitably and with the interests of those groups in mind.
To do this we have to stand up to the corporate drivers of the climate crisis - the fossil fuel companies that continue to extract and burn when the science is telling us to stop, the global banks financing deforestation and the businesses that turn a blind eye, or worse are complicit in, attacks on defenders.
For us to succeed, we need to embody the principles we fight for. Global Witness strives for cohesion, solidarity, and inclusion as only together can we protect one another and the planet to build a better and more just future.
About the role
Working across Global Witness’s campaigns within a larger data team, you will support our larger data investigations. Using a range of tools and techniques, including data storytelling, analysis, bots and webscraping, you will highlight the role of corporations in worsening the environmental and climate crises.
About you
You will bring core data specialist skills, in particular in financial analysis, natural language processing, remote sensing and accessing and using open data.
We want to evolve, grow and develop and so want to hear the data analysis and presentation skills you could bring to our work.
Finally, you’ll have a strong affinity to Global Witness’ values, working collaboratively internally and externally to achieve maximum impact.
Working for us
Global Witness has a talented team of people worldwide with offices in London, Washington DC, and Brussels. We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work. We value new perspectives, original ideas, and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or identity.
We offer an excellent benefits package including a competitive salary and 25 days annual leave (excl. Bank Holidays). We also offer healthcare insurance, wellbeing days and policies to support you during key life events.
This role is based in London and therefore to be considered you must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. We are working under a hybrid working model which requires at least 2 days in the office.

- Supporting people’s wider understanding of the role of nature to mitigate climate change through carbon sequestration and storage.
- Continuing the rollout of the Act to Adapt process in local communities, organising events and workshops and using the Climate Adaptation Toolkit to explain the process of developing community and nature based solutions to the big issues of climate change.

You need to be a great communicator, able to build trusting relationships with Medact members, partner organisations and community groups. You’ll have an understanding of how digital communications compliment organising and campaigning. About the Role
The Homestead Park has been cherished by communities for 120 years since it was gifted to the people of York by social reformer Seebohm Rowntree (son of Joseph Rowntree) so that all individuals, regardless of class or income, could enjoy time in nature.
At JRF, we’re honouring this heritage and turning the leaves of a new chapter in the story of Homestead Park. We’re looking to the future to understand how on our home soil over the next 100 years we can grow opportunities to support JRF’s wider mission which is to ‘speed up and support the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty in which people and planet can flourish’. We’ll draw inspiration from Rowntree’s radical roots and cultivate the conditions for people to come together to explore the challenges of these times. They’ll connect with themselves, each other and nature, fostering resilient communities where people and the natural world are able to flourish together and plant the seeds for hopeful futures.
Seebohm’s gift represents a tradition of giving back to the community and ensuring that public spaces remain accessible to all. We want to uphold this tradition and not only preserve a piece of history, but also reaffirm our dedication to creating a park and pavilion community space that serves the needs and interests of the people it belongs to.
We will be developing a ten year plan to help to guide our work in Homestead Park and we’re creating two exciting new roles to support this work: the 'Community Engagement Lead' and the 'Head of Park' role. We’ll work alongside community groups and local people to steer the development of the Park and understand how it can serve communities today and for generations to come.
About You
You'll have a genuine passion for community engagement, placemaking, and creating inclusive spaces. You'll feel a connection with our work in the Emerging Futures team and a commitment with climate justice and how this links with social justice and nature-based wellbeing. You’ll be a great communicator and you’ll be skilled at connecting with diverse stakeholders and building consensus around shared goals.
Applications are welcome from all, regardless of age, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, race, sex, sexual orientation, trans status or socioeconomic background. We recognise that we cannot truly be an anti-poverty organisation unless we are also an anti-racist organisation, and we positively encourage applications from people with experience of living in poverty.
We are a Disability Confident Employer. This means that we are committed to the recruitment, progression and retention of disabled individuals. We shall also offer interviews to disabled candidates who meet the minimum criteria for the job. If you have a disability, please tell us if you would like to be considered for an interview under the Disability Confident Scheme.
How to Apply
If you share our passion and this role sounds like you, then we’re looking forward to hearing from you.
Please submit your CV and supporting information via our online application platform (accessed through our website).
The closing date for applications is 23:59 hours on 5th June 2024.
Interviews will take place either in York or on-line on Tuesday 18th June 2024.
Additional Information
In support of our approach to flexible working, we are happy to receive applications from those seeking full-time employment, as well as those who may want to share the role on a part-time basis. When making your application, please state whether you want to be considered for either full or part-time work and, if part-time, the number of hours per week you would be looking for.
At JRF we’re at our best when we’re continually building on trust, showing we care and making a difference – and hope others will do the same. So for those roles which allow it, we’re developing a more blended approach to how and where you work. This means you can expect to work flexibly between the office and home (with an expectation of two days a week in your home office).
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
