To work as a member of the Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy team
To ensure student/trainees develop appropriate psychodynamic skills and attitudes.
Must be a qualified group-analytic psychotherapist registered with BPC, UKCP or other registration body relevant to group analytic training.
To have experience of conducting groups analytically, preferably in a variety of settings and with different sized groups
To be able to run experiential small and large groups for students/trainees on the course, including online.
Working hours and place
4.30 -5.30pm on Mondays and/or 1.00 – 2.00pm on Fridays for 3x10 week terms for the academic year 2024 – 2025 at the bpf House, 37 Mapesbury Road, NW2 4HJ. Starting date 30th September 2024.

The important stuff
Salary: £21,500 p.a. pro rata for part-time role (£10,750)
Hours: Part time, 2.5 days per week, between 9.30am – 5.30pm, Tuesday – Thursday (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees. This includes running application workshops with past Trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre
Church Community
- The Spear Coach is directly employed by Citizen Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
- Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within Citizen Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation
- Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

About the team
The team in Dorset is well-established and has been providing housing advice and support services within Dorset for over 20 years. With office bases in Bournemouth and Weymouth, we have contracts to deliver Housing First support in Dorset Council area and offer Legal Aid Advice, including a court desk service at Bournemouth and Weymouth County Courts.
We are active in our communities and strive to understand what housing issues people are experiencing; providing advice and advocacy to individuals and groups to empower them to resolve their situation.
About the role
This role will enable the successful candidate to have a broad understanding of local responses to the housing emergency and give a taster of what role different organisations play in this and would be ideal for someone who is looking to work in housing or homelessness services.
This role will work alongside, and be supported by the Dorset Hub team, based in Bournemouth, to improve the number of people taking part in lived experience activities within Bournemouth, (Dorset) Hub and the BCP Homelessness Partnership. You’ll attend and/or facilitate lived experience groups, people with experience of homelessness to speak up, be an ambassador to encourage partner organisations to involve people with lived experience and offer peer support and encouragement, using your own experience, to help other people participate. You will also contribute to communications from Dorset Hub and BCP Partnership, which highlight the local impact of the housing emergency and effective solutions.
You will be given extensive on the job training, support, and supervision, and will have access to a flexible personal budget to help in your own personal and professional development. Previous trainees have used the personal budget for things like mental health support, qualifications and training courses. The successful candidate will also have access to Shelter’s Employee Assistance Programme and will have dedicated wellbeing support.
About you
- You will have experience of homelessness and / or other disadvantages (e.g. experience of the criminal justice system, mental ill-health or substance misuse) and an understanding of how these experiences have affected you

This is a great opportunity to work with a lead provider of homelessness and housing advice and support and gain invaluable experience while being part of an exciting employability programme centred on lived experience. The GROW trainee will be primarily working alongside Senior Support Workers within the Home at Last Project (HALT) to improve support and outcomes for people experiencing rough sleeping who have drug and alcohol dependence needs. You will also work with other professionals from across the housing, health and social care sectors to help people experiencing multiple disadvantage to build resilience and develop independent living skills. The role will involve helping people to settle and stay in accommodation, help build independent living skills, support to people to access services and appointments. The GROW trainee programme includes opportunities to get involved in developing services in Sheffield and across Shelter at a national level, using your experiences to influence our local strategic aims.

As an Eden Project Apprentice you will spend on average 6 hours a week studying a taught element delivered by one of our partner training providers. Placement Manager

We are looking for a Placement Manager to join our enthusiastic and friendly team. Help Counselling Centre is a small Mental Health charity providing one-to-one counselling, both in person and online. We are also a well-established training placement provider for trainee counsellors and psychotherapists studying with prestigious training providers in London.
About Help
Help Counselling is well-established Mental Health Charity with a heritage of over 50 years. We provide training placements for clinical supervisors, counsellors and psychotherapists who need to gain clinical experience to qualify (or further qualify) and be registered with one of the industry professional bodies such as, BACP or UKCP. For ethical reasons, the work trainee counsellors / psychotherapists do is unpaid, i.e., they must volunteer their time.
This volunteer model enables Help to fulfil its charitable aim of providing low-cost counselling services. It can take between 3-5 years to qualify, and our training placements are for minimum of 12 months meaning we can also provide clients with long-term help. The blend of low-cost and long-term talking therapy is much needed in a time of increasing demand for mental health support and increasing complexity of presenting issues.
About the job
Reporting to the Help Director, the job is to ensure the smooth and effective running of the training placement process in line with BACP requirements.
This will include providing clinical support and expertise to the Help Director; managing and assuring the quality of the counsellor recruitment process; handling counsellor issues; overseeing weekly client allocations and reallocations; handling queries and managing relationships with clients, counsellors and supervisors; reviewing and enhancing clinical policies.
Currently our client volumes are between 250-350, we have approximately 90 counsellors and clinical team of approximately 20.
We operate a number of cloud-based IT systems and have outsourced HR and Finance functions.
Key responsibilities
· Provide clinical support and expertise to the Help Director as required.
· Manage and oversee process of new counsellor recruitment, ensuring all new counsellors are interviewed and vetted against a suitable set of standards and controls.
· Manage paperwork required by Training Organisations in relation to Trainee Counsellors at the beginning and during their placement.
· Being available to support Trainee Counsellors on clinical placement with Help.
· Manage the Cause for Concern’ procedure with Trainee Counsellors and Supervisors as and when they arise. This will include ensuring appropriate record-keeping and taking appropriate action to ensure counsellors are working safely and within the BACP ethical framework.
· Provide a point of escalation for client, counsellor or supervision queries.
· Manage and oversee weekly client allocations and reallocations.
· Manage any queries raised from Assessments and manage any declined clients
· Assist in the periodic review and creation of appropriate clinical policies and procedures. Provide input into policies and procedures based on changes to best practice guidelines issued by professional bodies.
The Candidate
Education & experience: Counselling or Psychotherapy Qualification, BACP or UKCP professional membership, 3-5 years' post-qualification experience. Experience of working within a training environment within the same industry highly desirable.
