Role Description

This is a volunteer role as a Trustee - Fundraising at YOUTH LINK NETWORKS located in London, with flexibility for some remote work. The Trustee - Fundraising will be responsible for overseeing fundraising activities, developing fundraising strategies, and building relationships with donors and sponsors to support the organization's initiatives.

Time commitment:

Volunteer 4 annual meetings per year which take place once a quarter (March, June, September, December). 

Volunteer an additional 12 days per year to cascade expertise, systems and information to the wider team to build a strategic fundraising plan that brings in more income for the charity and contributes to us achieving our goals.

We are looking for people over the age of 16 to join our Mary's Living and Giving Shop for Save the Children, Chiswick . Activities include serving customers, sorting through donations, visual merchandising and volunteering alongside a large and diverse team. No previous experience is required as all training will be provided....along with tea, coffee and cake!

About The Role 

The Chair the Board of Aston Mansfield provides independent and inclusive leadership to the executive team and Trustees to ensure we continue serving our community as our community evolves. This is an exciting time for our charity, having come to the end of a major strategic project, we are looking for inspiriting leadership to support our refocus on our services. We have a professional, knowledgeable, and committed board of trustees, and are continuously striving to ensure our board of trustees reflects the demographics of Newham and neighbouring communities, and the lived experience of our communities. Our next Chair will continually support the development of our board as well as guide the strategic direction of Aston-Mansfield.

Requirements/Person Specification

• Local knowledge of the communities we support
• Knowledge of how charities operate, including charity governance, securing funding, developing income streams, theory of change
• Leadership experience to facilitate conversation on complex issues, provide support and guidance to the executive team, and develop current and future trustees

As a Stockroom Volunteer, you will help our friendly shop team by sorting, checking, and making the most of the fantastic variety of donated items in our friendly shop. Best of all you’ll be raising vital funds to support people facing poverty around the world.

About this role

We will give you all the training and support you need so you will develop your skills as part of our team. You don’t need to have any experience – we’ve got you covered. You can also get some lunch and travel costs too. Whatever you need, we’re here to help.

You can focus on any part of volunteering that interests you the most. As a Stockroom Volunteer you’ll develop skills that boost your confidence. We’ll train you to make the most of our donations by sorting, cleaning, researching and pricing all sorts of items. You’ll learn about stock management systems and everything we do behind the scenes to make the most out of donations.

We are looking for Sector experience in Mental Health and Bereavement Services.

As the pioneering charity dedicated to childhood bereavement support in the UK, Winston’s Wish has been at the forefront of developing crucial services for grieving children. We continue to inspire and advocate for bereaved young people by prioritizing their voices and needs.

We are seeking individuals who share our innovative spirit and are passionate about improving the lives of bereaved young people to join our Board of Trustees. If you envision a world where every grieving child or young person receives the support, they need to lead full and meaningful lives, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking to appoint a new trustee to our board. Given the focus of our work, we are especially interested in professionals with expertise in mental health, psychology, or related fields. 

Weparticularly want to hear from you if you identify as:

· A person of colour (racially minoritised/racially diverse)

· Live with a disability or condition affecting daily life.

· Come from a disadvantaged background.

Applicants do not have to have lived experience of bereavement or have used the Winston’s Wish services.

Person Specification

· We have a specific gap on our board for a trustee with relevant sector experience.  Given the nature of our work we are especially interested in professionals with expertise in mental health, psychology, or related fields.

· Previous governance experience in the not for profit or commercial sector is welcome but not compulsory.

· Interested individuals should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for the work we do, an
unwavering promise to live our values and a commitment to work collaboratively and
positively with our board and staff teams to achieve the very best outcomes for bereaved
children.

· All Trustees are appointed for an initial term of two years and are eligible to re-stand for a
subsequent term. Members normally serve for two terms to ensure a balance of
continuity and refresh.

· The Board of Trustees normally meets four times a year and in addition, Trustees are
encouraged to take on responsibility and actively participate in sub-committees, attend
events and support the staff teams as appropriate.

Role Description

This is a volunteer Chair of the Board of Trustees role at YOUTH LINK NETWORKS, with the flexibility for some remote work. The Chair of the Board of Trustees will be responsible for overseeing the organization's strategic direction, providing leadership to the Board, ensuring effective governance, and representing the organization externally. This is a hybrid role, primarily located in the London Area, United Kingdom, with the option for some remote work.

Bright Futures UK works with young people who have been forced to take time out from education due to chronic illness. We provide programmes to help stimulate learning in addition to having a social aspect that offers respite to isolation these young people face due to their unfortunate circumstances.

We are urgently looking for warm and energetic volunteer tutors of all subjects to provide educational support and a fun, safe space for these young people. Tutoring experience is not essential as full training is given. Our sessions also are all currently online.

We need someone who is able to engage with young people in a positive and friendly way, helping them overcome their experiences and not feel defined by their illness. You would engage with a young person on a one-to-one basis to help catch up on their studies, increase their confidence in their own skills, and have some fun with them in order to help them progress. 

The young people we work with have missed so many experiences in school which we take for granted. The time you can offer to help fill in those missed periods is invaluable to their development. Your sessions will be fully supported by Bright Futures UK staff – from questions or queries, resources or materials or just to bounce an idea off the team, we’re here to help.

Volunteering with Bright Futures UK is something that can easily fit into your working day or a busy schedule with commitment starting from as little as 1 hour per week. We are so grateful for any support you might be able to provide, as are our young people.

We are looking to recruit a committed and experienced Senior Fundraising Officer who is able to guide operational fundraising activities towards our strategic goals which require funding. 

Role of the Senior Fundraising Officer:

• To work alongside the fundraising team to secure funding to support work of organization 
• To support and supervise junior fundraising volunteers, this includes but is not limited to proof reading funding applications and setting tasks
• To occasionally complete grant funding application forms

Founded in 2016, Little Village has grown from small beginnings in Tooting to a pan-London network of baby banks and support for families with babies and children under five. We’ve supported over 32,000 children and we’re working hard to put the need for baby banks at the heart of conversations about tackling child poverty through our role as a Founding Partner of the newly launched Baby Bank Alliance.

We’ve achieved a huge amount with an amazing team, but there’s a lot more to do, and we need more expertise to help us achieve that. That’s why we’re looking for new trustees to join our Board in 2024.

As our organisation continues to grow at pace, we are looking for some specific expertise as well as more general experience (but we don’t need any previous board or trustee experience). We’d like to appoint one trustee with experience of raising charity income and engagement as well as one or two other trustees with more general experience, especially a commercial or entrepreneurial background.

As we recruit new members we are particularly keen to broaden the diversity of skills and experience on our Board and would particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of poverty (as a parent or as a child), and those with volunteering experience (at Little Village or elsewhere). We would also like to create a better gender balance and so are looking for more male applicants.

We are looking for volunteers who have a keen eye for detail, an interest in fashion and a passion for supporting sustainability to join our retail team on 30th September and 1st October at University of Nottingham.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up/replenishment – setting up rails, tidy and replenish stock.
• Marketing support – hand out flyers, create social posts and other support spreading the word about the event and Newlife.
• Fitting room advisor – welcome customers in to the fitting rooms, check them in and advise on outfits, obtain other sizes for customers.
• Cash desk – helping pack and sign customers up to Newlife Style Card.

All volunteers will receive a volunteer discount of 20% that can be used on any item of stock during the two days that the pop up store is running – which is a bonus on top of our already discounted prices!

You will be provided with the relevant training appropriate for your role and will be supported by our experienced retail team.

The pop up will be open from 10am – 5pm on day one (set up from 8am) and from 10am – 4pm on day two. For this role, we required a minimum commitment of one 4 hour session across the two days.

We are looking for an innovative Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide leadership, guidance  and oversight ensuring operational efficiency and sustainabiltiy, with a passion for supporting children and young people with disabilities.
