Title: Crisis at Christmas Locum Move on Support Workers (Hotels)

A fantastic locum opportunity for support workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers. You will be working with guests in Crisis at Christmas hotel accommodation to establish move-ons and next steps after the project closes.
Whilst it is not possible to find an immediate housing solution for everyone in the hotels, we aim to give advice and next steps to every guest who stays with us. The Crisis at Christmas project benefits from huge support from the GLA and local authorities, drug & alcohol services and SIAS immigration lawyers from each of the 5 subregions. There is a huge opportunity at Christmas to engage clients who do not usually connect with services, and this is reflected in the offers of support they receive.
You will be employed directly by Crisis during this period, for this reason any applications must be with permission from your current employer which must be sought and cannot be assumed.
Experience required
· Demonstrable experience of working directly with rough sleepers (e.g., in outreach, day centres, turnaround hubs or similar services)
· Good knowledge of voluntary sector services and statutory rights of homeless people

Shifts
Shifts will be 10am – 6pm and Move On support Locum workers must commit to a minimum of 4 shifts to be accepted into the role.
You will also accrue annual leave during this work, which will be calculated according to statutory guidelines and will be paid in your final payslip. Holiday entitlement will be calculated as 12.07% of actual hours worked and equates to approximately £3.80 per hour for bank holidays worked and £2.40 per hour for non-bank holiday work.

DESCRIPTION
We are looking for experienced practitioners who are qualified to level 3 in childcare or a related field and have a passion for working with families to help them achieve their best outcomes.
Fixed Term until July 2025
Job purpose: To provide focused 1-1 and group family support for families with children and young people aged 0-19 years old (up to 25 years for young adults with additional needs).Delivered either at the Family Centre, out in the community or in service users’ own homes. All services provided will support the delivery of the Family Support Specification, which aims is to enable children and families to achieve and improve outcomes.
Hours of work: 17.5 hours a week.

Salary : £12,994.80 - £14,541.80
Annual leave: Four weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. This is to be discussed at interview. Holidays increase after two years service to a maximum of five weeks pro-rata after six years service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.

Main Responsibilities:
u Manage a case load working in partnership with agencies to provide integrated and planned interventions, giving advice, information, and practical and emotional support to families.
u Undertake direct work with children and their families who are assessed as requiring help and support, both at the Centre, community and in the home environment for emerging need and targeted services, offering timely support and interventions to address identified needs.
u Provide support for the family, using a variety of interventions including motivational interviewing, solution focused approaches and accredited parenting strategies.
u Deliver 1:1 evidence-based parenting programmes of support to achieve best outcomes for families and priority groups and record observations on electronic systems to the agreed standard and within agreed timescales.
u Plan, deliver and evaluate targeted services within the Family Centre and community venues.
u Deal effectively with challenging situations and the ability to be proactive to motivate and create change with complex family situations.
u Convene, chair, and minute-take for multi-agency meetings as appropriate.
u Maintain accurate records including use of the Early Help Management System (EHM) of all interventions and communications, including Early Help assessments, plans, chronologies, reviews, and outcomes electronically; share information with other professionals as appropriate (with consent).
u Coordinate and facilitate TAF/TAC meetings and provide precise information.
u Develop community knowledge and links for the benefit of children, young people and their families and the wider family support service.
u Use the various IT systems and programmes to log families progress which includes the Early Help Management system and Outcome Star records.
u Work at various locations throughout Reigate and Banstead or Mole Valley.
u Work alongside other YMCA East Surrey Children and Young People managers and staff to share good practice.
u Ensure YMCA East Surrey’s policies and procedures are followed at all times, including safeguarding, health and safety.

Working in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and East London Foundation Trust, IBIS House supports people who are medically fit for discharge from mental health inpatient stays but have other barriers to discharge. These may include housing, living skills, accessing benefits or the community, or other interventions and will be on a person-centred basis. The main aim of the service is to provide short-term support to customers to link with longer-term services to reduce escalations in need and reduce inpatient readmission and reduce pressure on inpatient beds.
The shift pattern for this role includes 40 hours per week, including weekends and Bank Holidays. The shift Pattern includes 08:00-16:00 and 14:00-22:00

What you'll do:
Assessing referrals received by the service, within the 4-hour target, and providing rapid response to these.
Inducting new customers and helping orient them to the community and local area
Completing/supporting housing referrals as required, supporting customers with budgeting tools and providing support to customers in accessing any benefits or addressing any issues such as benefits.
Building a relationship with the local borough and any key agencies. For example: no recourse to public funds teams, homelessness teams, community mental health teams etc.
Support planning, including ward management liaison, medication profiles and medication reviews as required, identifying the goals and steps to support customers to manage their own support and risk and ensuring these are correctly documented within Look Ahead's paperwork
Proactively engaging in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis
Monitoring and reporting on customer interactions, including escalation of any concerns or changes in customer's presentation or welfare.

About the role
As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be part of Crisis Skylight Brent’s Engagement and Assessment Team, providing a high quality, non-judgemental and safe service to individuals who approach our Skylight Centre. Engagement and Assessment Workers are the first point of contact for a range of enquiries from people who are experiencing homelessness for the first time, individuals with complex and multiple needs, visitors, volunteers, and supporters. You will be providing information about Crisis’ services, delivering a high-quality triage and assessment service, and offering Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) on local homelessness and other related services. Crisis uses a case management approach, and the successful candidate will attend case management meetings, reflective practice, and team meetings. You will also work collaboratively with external partners and Crisis Skylight Brent’s Coaching and Learning Teams.

About the Role:
As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted, person-centred interventions for individuals within SHP’s Camden Adult Pathway Hostels. Your role will involve holding a designated caseload and working closely with the wider client group through our in-house recovery programme. Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.
The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.
About the Role
In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.
Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.
The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.
This role in certain placements will require you to work a rota including weekend hours between 8am – 8pm.

The Duty Worker will be working closely with survivors of domestic abuse and other VAWG (violence against women and girls) to provide high quality independent support to survivors at all risk levels and their children. The post holder will play a crucial role in the service delivery, being the first point of contact for survivors who are referred to the Gaia Centre by contacting the survivors, assessing their needs and risks, carrying out and implementing safety plans and needs and will ensure an effective handover to the relevant GAIA team for ongoing support or referring to another appropriate agency for support.
The duty worker will also empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical, and personal welfare support. You will ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options.
The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal and practical options that might increase their safety.
