Main Purpose of the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team at Camden Carers and make a difference to the lives of carers and families in Camden. As a part of the Support & Wellbeing Team, you will be required to identify Young Adult Carers aged 18-30 years from all communities in the London Borough of Camden, who care for a family member, partner or friend with a disability or long-term illness. You will provide relevant and appropriate support, information and advocacy to Young Adult Carers. You will lead on developing and maintaining effective partnerships with other statutory and voluntary services as well as developing a service to support Young Adult Carers who are also NEET (not in education, employment or training).
Carers Trust estimate that there are at least 600,000 Young Adult Carers in the UK.
A consultation carried out in 2023 showed that over 75% of Young Adult Carers in Camden have poor emotional/mental health and poor physical health. The study also highlighted that high numbers of Young Adult Carers require support with finances, employment, education and managing personal relationships.

In this fast-paced role, you will work to build and maintain relationships with national, regional, and trade journalists to tell varied and compelling stories from one of the UK’s leading homelessness charities. There will be opportunities to speak to services and people with lived experience of homelessness to build timely PR on some of our core issues. With this role, you can also expect to:
- Be part of a busy press office, with journalists contacting us on anything related to service visits to commentary on the Renters’ Rights Bill
- Write creatively and to a variety of audiences, using the full set of tools in your PR arsenal: press releases, opinion pieces, quick-fire comments, photo galleries, and letters to editor
- Be trusted counsel to members of the senior management team and colleagues across the organisation in relation to Press and PR work, providing briefings and practice interviews where appropriate
- Devise timely PR stunts to ensure that homelessness remains high on the media agenda
About you

We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate to coordinate our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s. We are at an exciting stage of growth, now in 20% of London schools, so there is great scope to shape our strategic direction, including cultivating our alumni network of previous award winners. We are looking for competent leader, ideally with experience of risk and physical challenge, and strong administrative skills, who is comfortable working with schools. He/she will be keen to work with a growing charity, and to support young people usually with a poverty of experience and opportunity.

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. We are recruiting for a talented Finance and Debt Specialist Advisor who has a background in supporting women or children who have experienced domestic violence to make a genuine difference to the lives of survivors. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives and you will play a key role in helping us deliver vital services to those who need them the most. As a Finance & Debt Specialist Advisor, you will provide service users with advice and support on finance and debt. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, via phone and face-to-face, and you will provide advocacy and support that empowers survivors primarily during crises and in the short term. You will also proactively work with other agencies on the service users’ behalf. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
The service is Pan London and operates within local communities, necessitating travel across all 11 boroughs to deliver outreach support to clients when needed.
About You:
To be successful as the Finance and Debt Specialist Advisor you will need the below experience and skills:
You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing finance, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence

About the role
We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, transferrable customer service skills and experience of working with complex personal data to join our Volunteering Team.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure the best possible volunteer experience and that Young Lives vs Cancer holds and maintains appropriate records and data on our volunteers in line with volunteering best practice, safer recruitment and GDPR.
Accurate data is critical to the safe delivery of volunteering. This role is responsible for creating and maintaining volunteer records on relevant systems including database and our Learner Management System and overseeing volunteer recruitment and on-boarding ensuring compliance with minimum standards and reporting as appropriate.
This role interacts with stakeholders across the whole of the organisation and is often the first point of contact for volunteering process and procedures.
What will I be doing?

- Supporting the full volunteering life-cycle including recruitment, on boarding, training, reward & recognition

The Marketing & Communications Administrator reports to the Senior Manager – Children & Community and works in a team alongside the Community Development worker to build and enhance all of T&T’s work.
