World Cancer Research Fund explores how diet, weight and physical activity affect your risk of developing cancer. We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

About you

The Head of Health & Safety is the lead and designated “competent person” for all health and safety matters, including fire safety at The Children’s Trust underpinning the three key work streams: “safe care,” “safe workplace” (including occupational health and well-being), and “safe retail and (fundraising) events”. The role holder has the authority to require the immediate cessation of any unsafe working practices.

About the role:
Working closely with the Major Crime Police Units, Senior Investigators and Family Liaison Officers, you will provide a pivotal role to support clients through the Criminal Justice System. About the role
An exciting brand new role in a busy supporter experience team you are responsible for delivering income growth, leading on fundraising campaign delivery including acquisition and retention activities.

Our bank of retention and acquisition work currently includes print appeals, digital campaigns, inserts, press ads, social media and telemarketing acquisition, online lottery, raffle and more! As you direct the marketing team, it is essential you'll be able to use your fundraising knowledge to edit copy and feedback on campaigns based on your experience of how to uplift response. This knowledge will be developed in your ongoing regular work monitoring the teams results and performance, putting these learnings into action with the creative, data and planning decisions that you make. Linking creative decisions with data and analysis is key and we welcome the new ideas that brings. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.

1. Vision and direction
