As a Café volunteer, you will be at the heart of our hospice team, dealing with the café service within the hospice.
The Role
· Serving patients, families, and staff at ellenor hospice on the register.
· Food and drink service in line with dietary requirements and allergens.
· Cleaning of equipment, surfaces, and café area. Sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables and furniture.
· Processing transactions and following cash handling procedures.
· Taking accurate orders and providing goods as required.
· Washing up crockery and other items, storing as required once cleaned.
About you:
· You will have good customer service skills being polite, well-mannered, and willing to assist visitors and staff.
· You’re flexible, a good communicator and able to use your initiative.
· Willing to undertake Mandatory and Statutory training yearly and 3 yearly.
· Ability to handle a range of changing priorities and sensitive issues.

The Role:
As the Volunteer Coordinator for Catering and Housekeeping, you’ll be the driving force behind the smooth operation of our departments. Your role will include:
- Managing Rotas: Creating and overseeing volunteer schedules to ensure coverage and efficiency in both the Catering and Housekeeping teams
- Recruiting and Training: Identifying and onboarding new volunteers, providing them with the necessary training and support
- Supervising Volunteers: Offering guidance and support to volunteers, addressing any concerns or issues that arise, ensuring all volunteers are compliant with mandatory training
- Maintaining Communication: Acting as the main point of contact between volunteers and the department, ensuring clear and effective communication

Skills and Qualifications:

- Excellent Communication: Good written English, Confident in liaising with volunteers, staff, and management to ensure smooth operations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the aptitude and ability to learn in the role

- Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all tasks and schedules are completed accurately and to a high standard
- Previous Experience: Experience in volunteer coordination, administration, management or a similar role is preferred, but not essential

GSF is the leading provider of training in end of life care for generalist front line staff across health and social care. We have trained and accredited thousands of teams, influenced national policy and practice and GSF has improved the care for many millions of people and their families.
Much has been achieved but there is still more to do ... We have a bold and exciting vision to ensure that everyone experiences Gold Standard end of life care. We want to see a big increase in the number of people that are trained, and we want to influence policy to make Gold Standard end of life care a requirement. We have recently become a CIO charity and as we enter a new chapter of our story, we are seeking new trustees to help us to achieve our vision and contribute to our strategic purpose.
Could you help us achieve these goals? We are a small team and value the contribution of our trustees, partners, associates and professional reference groups. Trustees will typically attend 4-6 online board meetings a year, along with other communications and support between meetings, plus occasional strategy away days.

What will I be doing? You will be supporting JDRF UK (soon to be Breakthrough T1D)’s Content Team with the creation of content about the research our charity funds. The Content Team creates website and social media content about type 1 diabetes, its management, and research to prevent, treat and cure it. While the wider team covers the information and support the charity provides about type 1 diabetes, your role will be specific to content related to science and research.

What are my goals? Keep up to date with new research funded by JDRF/Breakthrough T1D and prepare summaries of new research projects. Identify key aspects of the research projects of interest to people living with type 1 diabetes. Use these insights to create appropriate social media assets and copy to share the summaries on our social media platforms.
What skills and attributes do I need?

What support is available to me? You will have a named staff contact based in the office who will lead your training in social media scheduling and content creation tools and provide ongoing support. Travel expenses directly incurred in our roles as Trustees on official business can be reimbursed. Board and Committee meetings are held in person or remotely with in person meetings normally held in London.
Trustees are appointed for an initial three-year term with the opportunity to extend for a further two, three-year periods.
The time commitment is to attend 4 Board meetings a year plus relevant committee meetings. There are always opportunities to become more involved with specific projects, and trustees are strongly encouraged to attend at least 1 Willow fundraising event each year.

Role Purpose
Pain Concern is looking for volunteers to help moderate the charity’s online community on the Health Unlocked platform. Our forum provides peer support and a learning environment for people living with chronic pain and those who care for them. Forum moderators follow Health Unlocked guidance, creating a great culture and setting the tone for the forum.
As a volunteer moderator you will help to ensure that our online community is maintained as a safe, supportive and fun environment. You will gather information on what issues are important to forum users. You will help to monitor and moderate user-generated content. By joining us you will join a fast-growing and respected service.
Previous experience or training is not necessary. We are looking for a willingness to learn and a commitment to help. Knowledge of chronic pain while useful, is not essential. Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be required to undertake a PVG check and complete a 1hr Safeguarding online course.
