What You’ll Do:
- Research and curate a list of potential grant opportunities, especially from Innovate UK or similar sources
- Write high-quality, persuasive grant applications with input from the founder
- Manage the submission process for all grant applications
- Follow up on submitted grants and maintain communication with funding bodies
- Track and report on grant statuses, deadlines, and any feedback received
- Work closely with the team to ensure alignment between grant proposals and The Planet Life’s mission and goals
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience writing and submitting successful grants. Experience with Innovate UK is a plus but not a requirement.
- Strong research skills to identify appropriate grant opportunities
- Excellent written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
- Self-motivated and proactive in seeking out grant opportunities and managing the process
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team and communicate with the founder
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
- Available to volunteer 8-10 hours per week

About The Role

Hidden in the center of historic Canterbury, the beautiful Franciscan Gardens is a heritage site that is home to the first Franciscan settlement in England, established in 1224. The gardens were designed to mimic how they would have looked 800 years ago, with a variety of medicinal, food, and dye plants that have been used since the Medieval times.
We are currently recruiting volunteer gardeners to help us with the general upkeep of the gardens. This volunteer position is perfect for someone with an interest in plants and gardening, but we will provide training as part of the position.

The duration of involvement could range from a few weeks to several months, depending on the candidate's availability.

Surfers Against Sewage Regional Reps help people nurture a deep connection and desire to protect local blue and green spaces by mobilising our communities - creating Ocean Activists everywhere.
Together we take collective and impactful action, creating waves of change for a Thriving Ocean Thriving People. About The Role
Our centre offers a selection of spaces for hire that are great venues for corporate meetings, team away days and other events, and all profit from these goes directly to our global and national conservation projects.
In this role, you will be providing essential behind-the-scenes support for our friendly staff team to generate income for our conservation work by assisting with day-to-day administration, dealing with telephone enquiries, helping to promote our services to potential clients, making bookings, keeping our electronic systems up-to-date and providing clients with information.

About The Role

Maintaining and developing an award-winning wetland centre requires a lot of practical, physical work to keep the centre looking in excellent condition, so we can continue to provide our visitors with a great day out and showcase our work to save wetlands for wildlife and people.
In this role you will be providing regular support to the facilities team undertaking a range of hands-on practical tasks, playing a vital part in managing the site.
General maintenance of facilities and buildings
- Assisting on various maintenance/building projects.
- Painting, concreting, joinery work, groundworks, drainage, plumbing are examples of the skills that would be great – not all essential.
- Willing to learn new skills such as those listed above whilst assisting the team in maintenance and building tasks.
