GSTTKPA is going through an exciting period of change. As a result, we are seeking to recruit a new Chair to support our ambitious and innovative change programme, so we can continue to achieve the aims and objectives of the charity.
The Chair role provides leadership to the organisation and the Trustee board by ensuring that everyone remains focused on the delivery of the organisation’s charitable purposes in order to ensure that GSTTKPA moves forward and continues to benefit kidney patients in the future.
The Chair will also need to set the strategy for the charity for the next few years which is vital for ensuring that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, the new post holder must understand that all the Trustees have a collective responsibility. This means that the Chair and the other Trustees must always act as a group and not as individuals.
As a Trustee, the new Chair must have a commitment to equality; celebrate diversity and be responsive to the needs of different groups and individuals within GSTTKPA and the wider community. In return, the successful applicant will join a warm and friendly team that works collaboratively to support each other as well as our kidney patients.

Think Active is the Active Partnership for Coventry, Solihull, and Warwickshire. We are a charity. We are unique to Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire; that is, there is only one of us. We are one of 6 sub-regional partnerships within the West Midlands and one of 42 across England.

On 1 August 2021 Think Active began operating as a Charity, this meant exiting our previous long term hosted arrangements with a Local Authority. On 1 April 2022 we began a 5-year funded role as one of 130 Sport England System Partners required to respond to and deliver against 'Uniting the Movement'. This marked an exciting and challenging time for Think Active. Guided by our current #WeThinkActive strategy that we are committed to delivering and the confirmation of funding meant that we could build a team and an organisation that would continue to provide inclusive, equitable, excellent services to partners and stakeholders in the pursuit of achieving our vision of everyone in Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire to benefit from movement and to enjoy sport and physical activity in safe and thriving communities.
Our overarching goal is to address the issue of inactivity and inequality to realise our ambitious mission of using the power and potential of sport and physical activity to enable future generations to lead healthy and more prosperous lives. Volunteering for Sense
Our amazing team of volunteers help us run over 100 shops across England and Wales. Every donated item that you sort, prepare and sell helps to raise vital funds to support us in our mission to make sure no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, is isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential. Our shops are at the heart of local communities – sharing the work of Sense, and helping to secure support for our life changing work.
What your role will involve
There are a variety of tasks that you can get involved with in the shop, including:
- Provide a warm, friendly welcome to customers.
- Provide great customer service and a fantastic shopping experience.
- Receiving donated goods from members of the public.
- Processing sales and serving on the till.
- Promoting Gift Aid and other Sense fundraising initiatives.
- Acting as an ambassador for Sense; promoting the shop and Sense in your local community.
- Supporting with the recruitment and training of new volunteers.
- Following health and safety measures to ensure the safety of everyone.

Bright Futures UK works with young people who have been forced to take time out from education due to chronic illness. We provide programmes to help stimulate learning in addition to having a social aspect that offers respite to isolation these young people face due to their unfortunate circumstances.
We are urgently looking for warm and energetic volunteer tutors of all subjects to provide educational support and a fun, safe space for these young people. Tutoring experience is not essential as full training is given. Our sessions also are all currently online.
We need someone who is able to engage with young people in a positive and friendly way, helping them overcome their experiences and not feel defined by their illness. You would engage with a young person on a one-to-one basis to help catch up on their studies, increase their confidence in their own skills, and have some fun with them in order to help them progress.
The young people we work with have missed so many experiences in school which we take for granted. The time you can offer to help fill in those missed periods is invaluable to their development. Your sessions will be fully supported by Bright Futures UK staff – from questions or queries, resources or materials or just to bounce an idea off the team, we’re here to help.
Volunteering with Bright Futures UK is something that can easily fit into your working day or a busy schedule with commitment starting from as little as 1 hour per week. We are so grateful for any support you might be able to provide, as are our young people.

Our challenge
The Community Fundraising Team is an integral part of The Charity Fundraising Portfolio and the team consists of Community Fundraisers based across the UK. Our role is to provide fundraising advice & support to our Supporter Groups, Community Organisations, Regional Corporates, Volunteers & Events.
How can you help?
We are recruiting a team of Charity Ambassadors to help develop engagement across each Region, to maximise opportunities to raise funds and increase support from the Community. You will be actively involved with The Charity on the ground and play a key role working alongside the Regional Community Fundraisers, as and when required:
· Identifying various opportunities in your local area to raise awareness of The Charity & our wide range of Fundraising Campaigns. This could anything from contacting your local supermarket’s ‘Community Champion’ and organising an information stand and bucket collection or supporting a Supporter Group meet up in your area.
· Representing The Charity in your area, by undertaking presentations & cheque collections at schools, local companies & community groups
· Helping us to recruit new fundraisers and supporting those who are already signed up for a campaign, in your area. For example, attending a local Twilight Walk or promoting The Big Bake to local companies.

By amplifying The Charity's voice in your local area, you'll help increase the impact of fundraising campaigns & help grow funds and support us in accelerating a cure for everyone affected by a brain tumour diagnosis.

Time commitment

Practical considerations
You will receive training from the Community Fundraising Team and ongoing direction from a Regional Community Fundraiser, who will be your key contact. We carry out reference checks for all individuals who will be volunteering with us on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to complete some internal data protection and disclosure documentation before commencing the role. Volunteers must be over 18. We encourage volunteers to claim for any reasonable expenses that are incurred in the course of their volunteering with the Charity.

We are looking for a new Company Board Director to help guide Climate Emergency UK over the course of the next 2 years.
Climate Emergency UK is at a exciting time, since starting just over 4 years ago we have have successfully launched the first ever complete UK assessment of coucil climate action, with the Council Climate Action Scorecards, and are preparing for the second edition. We are now delivering our first 3 year strategy, with focusses on how we can advocate at a national level for further and faster council climate action, sustain ourselves as an organisation and keep up our crucial local work with councils and residents via the Scorecards, training and other projects.
As a young organisation, we need support from our Board to further the sustainability of the organisation.
We are particularly looking for Directors with either/or any of the following experience:
- Experience of local government, either as a councillor, officer or other
- HR experience within a new and small organisation, in particular in relation to creating HR policies and practices
- Landing national media coverage for projects and campaigns and previous work with national and regional news outlets
- Financial management of a small organisation, preferably a CIC, including book-keeping

AT CENTER GLD - INDONESIA

Overview
IHF, an award-winning International Non-profit established in 2001, is on a mission to (1)
educate impoverished children, igniting their highest potential and fostering loving, healthy
communities, and (2) enlighten global citizens through hands-on experiences, both online and in
person. We provide a platform for learning and practicing leadership skills, welcoming
participants from kindergarten to retirement age.
Join our IHF Indonesia Center for the Global Leadership Development (GLD) program and
make a genuine impact during your stay as a volunteer.
The Role
As a GLD participant, you'll engage in four hours of local on-site tasks in addition to four hours
per day as a member of various International Online Teams. Your local tasks may include, but
are not limited to:
● Providing hands-on support for the center's daily operations
● Engaging in cultural exchange, teaching classes, and organizing fun activities for our
children, teens, and university students
● Enhancing our children's education by participating in our online mentor and

Essential Requirements
We welcome volunteers who:

Eligibility
The program calls for a college diploma or university degree and a minimum commitment of
four months, although we encourage volunteers to stay for up to one year. All volunteers enjoy
one day off per week and a four-day holiday per month.

Each year, we review the areas of expertise we seek to add to our Board. This year, we are particularly looking to broaden the Trustee skill base by attracting, so far as possible, candidates who can additionally contribute in one or more of the following areas:
- experience in the hospitality, leisure, commercial or tourism sectors — particularly if you have helped shape or manage the organisation’s approach
- strategic property experience gained within a multi-site environment inclusive of historic, residential, commercial, industrial or land real estate
- strategic IT, cyber security and data protection experience
You don’t need to have all these attributes to apply. We welcome applications from candidates who have relevant work and life experiences and have the passion to make a difference with YHA.

Tushinde Children’s Trust, founded in 2010, believes the best place for children to grow up is in their family units. We work in the informal settlements of Mathare and Kiambiu of Nairobi, Kenya. Our targeted programmes and dedicated social workers provide tailored family care and access to education for the poorest families. We help families strengthen and stay together. We provide families with a path from crisis to independence. We support families to help children thrive.
Tushinde is a child-focused organisation and committed to child protection and the protection of vulnerable adults. All shortlisted candidates will be screened prior to joining the board and have background checks that may go beyond contacting referees. Every candidate, regardless of post applied for, will be expected to adhere to the principles of child protection and ensure that those around them do the same.
Tushinde is a UK registered charity, with a board of six trustees. Its programme is delivered through a Kenyan registered NGO of the same name, which has its own independent board of trustees. We are looking for up to three new trustees to join our UK board, to compliment and broaden the skills and knowledge of our existing trustees.
The Board of trustees meets four times a year and is responsible for ensuring:

Manage the charity’s resources responsibly

Act with reasonable skill and care

Ensure we are accountable to our stakeholders
In addition, we focus on:

Oversight of the Kenyan operations, particularly safeguarding

Beyond the regular board meetings there are plenty of opportunities to support the organisation both in the UK and Kenya. All UK meetings are remote and are typically scheduled at 18:00 UK time.
We are looking for a flexible, committed and reliable individual who has an interest in child welfare in Africa. In addition, we would be particularly interested to hear from individuals with any of the following skills or experience:

Fundraising, particularly growing or diversifying income streams

Child welfare, particularly in low or middle income countries

Risk and charity governance
-
And finally, if you have experience of or a connection to Kenya or East Africa even better!

Can you spare up to 3 hours a week visiting a client in their home for a cup of tea and a chat, help them get to an appointment or run an errand, or just be there to listen to them when they need a friendly ear. Companion Volunteers, provide companionship, emotional and practical support, respite for carers and telephone support to those living with a terminal or life limited illness or their carers.
