Volunteer Role
We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team at the IHF Indonesia Center in
Medan. Volunteers will gain invaluable experience in international team leadership,
coordination of center activities, and engagement with the local community.

Trustee Vacancy
Care Ashore is a charity with a proud history. Since the 1920s Care Ashore has offered independent living accommodation, respite breaks and support to seafarers in need. Uniquely situated on a 260-acre estate in Surrey, Care Ashore provides accommodation for merchant seafarers and former members of the Royal Navy, the Fleet Air Arm, those who have worked on British Fishing Fleets and others with a maritime link.
With around 60 current beneficiary residents, the charity offers accommodation in purpose-built properties and helps to fund the support provided to beneficiaries with the commercial activities of the estate.
Following a recent recapitalisation and the appointment of a new CEO, Care Ashore is well positioned to improve the quality of the accommodation offered, enhance services delivered to beneficiaries and expand on commercial opportunities on the estate.
The current Board has a mix of backgrounds and experience but wishes to strengthen the diversity further to ensure the needs of those they serve, along with the wider community are met. There are currently 3 board vacancies and ideal candidates will bring to the board experience in one or more of the following areas:

We are looking for a new Clinical Trustee to help us deliver our purpose - to give every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improve their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

With a dedicated team of almost 300 staff and more than 600 volunteers, we support over 650 families every year by providing respite care, antenatal and neonatal support, end of life care and immediate care after death, sibling support, and counselling and bereavement support from our two hospices based in Oswestry (Shropshire) and Conwy (North Wales).
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in making sure our charity is well run in the interests of the children and families we are here to support. You will also ensure we deliver our purpose by setting the strategic direction, managing the performance, and having responsibility for the governance of Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Ideally you will be:
· An experienced medical or nursing professional, with a background in general practice, obstetrics, paediatric care, or palliative care
· Motivated to help the charity deliver its purpose most effectively and for public benefit
· Motivated to actively support the charity to raise the money it needs

Sculpt is a UK-based charity with over 20 years’ experience of working with young people aged 14-25 empowering them to shape their futures. We are seeking a volunteer Trustee to join the Board of Trustees at WORTH to collectively oversee the administration and financial governance of the charity. The board is our governing body, providing strategy and direction and ensuring WORTH is run according to the rules.

About WORTH
WORTH is a charity providing long term aftercare to women affected by Domestic Abuse. We offer clients 1-1 support and a range of wellbeing groups including art, writing, music and self-defence to help rebuild their confidence and self-esteem.
We provide a safe space for clients to share experiences, give and receive practical and emotional support, learn new skills, reduce isolation, build friendships, and give women their voice back. It is a space where women can focus on their future and we can support our clients in their healing, post abuse.
To be able to provide this support we rely on a great team of volunteers with a wide skill set and a whole lot of passion to enable our services to work effectively.
Our Board of Trustees play a vital role in making sure that WORTH achieves its core purpose. They oversee the overall management, administration and governance of the charity. They also ensure that WORTH has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision. Just as importantly, they support and challenge the CEO to enable WORTH to grow and thrive and support more women in need.
Trustee Duties:
- Support and provide advice on WORTH's purpose, vision, goals and activities.
- Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
- Oversee WORTH's financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.
- Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
- Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
- Review and approve WORTH's financial statements.
- Provide support and challenge to WORTH's CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.
- Keep abreast of changes in WORTH's operating environment.
- Contribute to regular reviews of WORTH's own governance.
- Attend regular Trustee Board meetings and be adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
- Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect WORTH's interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.
- Contribute to the broader promotion of WORTH's objects, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
As a small charity, there will be times when trustees will need to be actively involved beyond Trustee Board meetings. This may involve scrutinising meeting papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people willing to bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role, and who will broaden the diversity of thinking and skills on our Board of Trustees. We are particularly interested in candidates with business, finance and fundraising experience.
Previous governance experience is preferable but not essential. The role is open to remote and local applicants.
Applicant minimum age is 18.

Terms of office
- Trustees are appointed for a two year term of office, with eligibility to renew and serve for two further terms to a maximum of six years.
- This is a voluntary unpaid position.
Time commitment
- Attending a minimum of six trustee board meetings annually, meetings are held remotely via Zoom once every two to three months.
- Attendance at ad hoc trustee meetings in addition to the minimum six annual meetings.
There are currently two Trustee positions open.
You can expect to hear from the Chair of Trustees within three weeks of application submission.
All appointments are subject to references and DBS check.

Trustees and Non-Executive Directors are crucial to Devon Air Ambulance and ultimately contribute to helping us save lives.
It’s important that our Trustees and Non-Executive Directors reflect the community that Devon Air Ambulance serves and bring different experiences and backgrounds that add a huge amount of value to our organisation. By having diverse Boards, for both the Charity and Trading Company, we will be better able to make great decisions, be more innovative and creative. DAA has been through a significant period of change in the past few years with becoming a Care Quality Commission regulated independent healthcare provider, welcoming a new H145 helicopter and three critical car cars into service, an organisational restructure, not to mention of course a pandemic that impacted every aspect of our organisation. We continue to plan for growth and development of our service with exciting plans for a new HQ and operations centre that are in the early stages of development.
We are looking for people who can support our journey, be critical friends and help shape our organisation to be fit for the future. We would also like to receive Expressions of Interest for the Chair of the DAA Trading Company Board. Additionally, DAA is particularly keen to have Trustees or Non-Executive Directors who can bring the following areas of expertise: pre-hospital or emergency care, clinical governance, leadership, organisational development, fundraising, property development, finance and environmental sustainability.
It is essential applicants are familiar with or able to learn how to use Microsoft Teams and standard MS Office software to a reasonable level.
What can a Trustee expect from Devon Air Ambulance?
- Training – our Trustees receive an induction and then a phased training programme including governance and finance training. Some training may be role specific.
- Trustee Buddy – you’ll be paired with one of our experienced board members who can offer guidance and support.
- Skills development – you can expect to develop the following skills in your role as a Trustee: critical thinking, strategic planning, good governance practice, charity sector, aviation and health service provider experience.

Solace is a Domestic Abuse Charity, this year celebrating 50 years of providing services to women and children. We are at an exciting time in our development with a new Executive Team. We are seeking new Trustees to contribute and define our role and maximise our impact.
Those using our services often have multiple and complex needs relating to their health and wellbeing, often experiencing multiple traumas in their lives. We are unique in our offer, offering a range of services for women and children experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence.
We are looking for someone who values the equality of all women, is passionate about their wellbeing and the challenges they face in violent and abusive environments. An interest in Solace's work and approach are essential as well as an ambitious outlook for Solace's future
Trustees with expertise in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply: legal ; fundraising ; NHS comissioning ; Digital technologies/competencies.

Unlock YOUR Potential is a dynamic brand new startup social mobility charity dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our mission encompasses employability and enterprise, health and well-being, life skills, mentoring, and personal development. We are committed to making a meaningful impact and fostering positive change in our community.
Role Overview:
We are seeking passionate and committed volunteers to join our board as our first Trustees. This role is vital in setting up, shaping our charity and ensuring the strategic direction and governance of our charity. As a Trustee, you will work closely with our Founder and CEO, as well as fellow board members to ensure that Unlock YOUR Potential achieves its mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Unlock YOUR Potential by carrying out essential Trustee duties.
- Collaborate with our Founder and CEO, and fellow trustees to develop and review long-term strategies, policies, and plans.
- Uphold effective governance practices.
- Actively engage in board meetings and decision-making.
- Represent Unlock YOUR Potential externally.
- Cultivate relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Assist and, in some cases, lead on income generation, such as grant/bid writing.
- Support, advise, and assist the CEO and team, ensuring they have the resources needed to carry out their roles.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Passion for social impact and creating opportunities for those facing socio-economic challenges.
- Collaborative approach and appreciation for teamwork.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to envision long-term goals.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate our mission compellingly to various audiences.
- Previous experience in governance or a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory.
Time Commitment:
- Approximately 3 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and additional tasks as needed.
- Trustees are appointed for an initial 1-year term, with the option of renewal.
