It’s an exciting time to join War Child as they have recently launched their new Alliance initiative. The War Child Alliance brings together the five War Child fundraising members (in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden, plus Children in Conflict in the US), with 14 programme members, based in and around conflict-affected areas across the world and coordinated by a new international body: the War Child Alliance Foundation. Through the Alliance they are integrating programme activities under one umbrella – allowing War Child to combine strengths and pool resources – all with the aim to multiply impact for conflict-affected children.
As part of the Trusts and Institutional funding team of four you’ll work alongside the Head of Trusts and Institutional, Trusts Manager, Trusts Executive and be line managed by the new Trusts and Institutional Funding Lead. Your key objective is to provide operational, administrative, and analytical support to the team to grow income and enable War Child to deliver quality programmes, by ensuring compliance with quality and donor requirements, contributing to effective risk management, providing support for the different donor accounts and ensuring processes and systems are in place, implemented and efficient. The role requires proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
As Trusts and Institutional Funding Executive, you will:
- Develop donor profiles by conducting research on potential donors, including their funding focus, giving history, and connections to War Child
- Plan and prepare meetings with donors by collaborating with senior colleagues and stakeholders to determine strategic objectives and key messages
- Monitor and share potential funding opportunities with the relevant Donor Account Managers within the Trusts and Institutional Funding team
- Support the implementation of internal grant management processes

As the Foundation's portfolio and engagement across its funding areas has grown over the past few years, they are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Grants Manager to join their small, dynamic team.
The Senior Grants Manager will play a key role in managing the Foundation's grant-making efforts. Supporting grantees over a multi-year journey to helping them achieve their goals, the Senior Grants Manager will need to be an excellent relationship-builder, with a strong knowledge of philanthropy, and a dedication to enhancing impact through effective grant-making.
Key responsibilities
- Grant Management & Compliance: Oversee all stages of the grant lifecycle, ensuring alignment with Foundation guidelines, values, and objectives.
- Relationship & Stakeholder Management: Cultivate strong relationships with grantees, charities, and non-profit organisations, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Strategic Planning & Funding Prioritisation: Collaborate with leadership to design and implement strategies that reflect the Foundation's mission and goals, while identifying emerging opportunities.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Monitor grantee outcomes, assess programme effectiveness, and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders and board members, highlighting impact and progress.
The Senior Grants Manager will have at least 5 years' experience in grant management, preferably in a philanthropic or not-for-profit organisation, or experience of grant-making, carrying out grant assessments and grant reports. The successful candidate will have a strong level of analytical skills, strong experience of working with a grant management database (The Bloom Foundation uses Blackbaud) and an interest in learning from grant making to inform future practice. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely and the ability to think strategically. You will have good relationship building skills and a high level of diplomacy and able to deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be proficient in office software packages, including MS Office and Excel and confident working accurately with figures.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player. You will be interested in and committed to contributing to the overall success of a small and highly motivated organisation with a versatile and flexible approach and a "can do" attitude.
The role is based in a modern, vibrant office in Camden on the canal. You will initially work 4 days a week in the office with 1 day from home. Following a successful probation period, your working pattern will be a minimum of 3 days in the office with 2 days from home. There will be some evening events, and some travel involved nationally to visit grantees. Overall purpose
The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.
You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.

About the role:

- Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
- Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
- Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
- Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise
This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.

As Programme Development Manager, you will identify, prospect and approach new institutional donors, converting them from prospects to secured funds including leading the creation of proposals, coordinating inputs from colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders.
To succeed in the role of Programme Development Manager, you will need:
- Proven fundraising experience in securing 6-7 figure, multi-year institutional and/or trusts and foundation grants
- Excellent relationship management skills with donors, across the funding cycle from prospecting to proposal management and reporting
- Experience with key thematic areas: women’s economic empowerment, value chains, livelihoods or enterprise acceleration within an NGO, government or the private sector
- Experience working in development projects in Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe. Experience in Afghanistan would be a plus.

Al Basar International Foundation (BIF) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness, focusing on underserved communities worldwide. As part of our vision to expand and grow our impact, we are seeking highly skilled and experienced bid writers, either individuals or agencies, to help us secure funding from a diverse portfolio of donors. Objectives of the Assignment
The primary objective of this assignment is to engage bid writers who will:
- Identify funding opportunities from diverse sources, including istitutional donors, foundations, trusts, government programs, and international agencies.
- Develop and write high-quality, persuasive funding proposals that align with BIF’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Support the submission of competitive bids in a timely and organised manner.
- Assist in expanding our network of funders and establishing relationships with new donors.
Scope of Work
The bid writers will be responsible for:
- Conducting research to identify relevant funding opportunities aligned BIF’s strategic goals and programs.
- Writing compelling and comprehensive grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the funder's requirements and expectations.
- Collaborating with internal teams to gather all necessary information for each proposal, including program details, budgets, and impact metrics.
- Assisting in the development of proposal budgets in accordance with donor requirements and BIF’s financial guidelines.
- Coordinating and managing the submission process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Providing follow-up communications with donors as needed to clarify details or provide additional information.
Deliverables
- List of relevant funding opportunities and donors.
- Completed grant applications and proposals, submitted on time.
- Documentation of follow-up actions, communications with donors, and outcomes of bid submissions.
- Develop standalone, reusable proposal that can be adapted for different funding opportunities, ensuring efficiency in future applications.
Requirements
The ideal candidate (individual or agency) should possess:
- Proven experience in writing successful grant applications and funding proposals for not-for-profits.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to identify suitable funding opportunities across different sectors.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a track record of creating compelling narratives tailored to funders' requirements.
- Knowledge of the healthcare, blindness prevention, or international development sectors is highly desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and submissions simultaneously.
Duration of the Assignment
This will be an ongoing consultancy contract, subject to periodic performance reviews. The duration will initially be six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding outcomes.
Fee Structure
The daily rate is negotiable, based on the experience and qualifications of the bid writer. Additionally, there is the possibility of a commission or performance-based incentive for successfully securing large grants. This will be agreed upon in the contract negotiations.
