SEED Madagascar is looking for two new Trustees to work on its Board of Trustees and with the Managing Director and his team. One role is to be the Vice Chair to support our Chair across her role, and the second role is to bring fundraising expertise to support SEED in its vital work in Madagascar.
SEED is growing and rising to the challenges that the country and its people are facing, and these Trustees will play an important role in SEED’s development.
SEED delivers impactful projects with communities in the southeast of Madagascar in the fields of community health, sustainable livelihoods, conservation and school infrastructure. More recently SEED has responded to the famine affecting many families in the areas it works with emergency food distribution.
The new Trustees will bring experience of working at a senior level in the not-for-profit sector. The Vice Chair will bring governance experience, and the fundraising trustee will have experience of fundraising in organsiations of a similar size. We are looking for a passion for, and understanding of, international development, along with strong people skills and a good grasp of strategic planning.

Citizens Advice Cornwall is an independent charity and a member of the national Citizens Advice service. The London Basketball Association (LBA) provides sustainable and regular participation in the sport of basketball whilst aiding and encouraging a variety of career paths for young people living in London’s most deprived and isolated communities.
What is LBA looking for?
The London Basketball Association is pleased to announce that an opportunity has arisen for a Board of Trustees Chairperson to join our intensely committed organisation.
The Board of Trustees Chairperson is a pivotal role within the organisation, tasked with holding the Board and Executive Team to account, to ensure the Charity hits its mission and longer term strategic visions. This is achieved by providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support, and, where appropriate, challenge the CEO and ensure that the Board functions as a unit to achieve agreed objectives.
Time Commitments: The Board of Trustees meet 6 times per year [bi-monthly]. Meeting may be held either in person and virtually. In addition to attending and chairing board meetings, this role is required for 3 hours, bi-weekly, to support the CEO, other board members and in order to fulfil the below responsibilities.

The Chair of Trustees will provide leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees and centre staff ensuring that the governance and strategic direction of the charity is being fulfilled. Silver City Surfers (SCS) is a local charity which has been operating since 2005 providing people with the opportunity to learn basic computing skills, including use of email and the internet. Increasingly, we are helping our learners to make the most of smart phones and tablets.
We are currently looking to recruit new Trustees to join our Board so we can continue to support older people to ensure that they are not left behind by the advances in technology. You don’t need specific skills, just a willingness to help our charity continue to provide a lifeline for older people. Training can be provided.
Trustees meet 1x per month to make sure that the organisation is running well and that our plans are properly implemented. They form the Management committee of the charity and have responsibility for making sure that SCS is doing what it is set up to do. About Circles South East
Circles South East, based in Oxfordshire, is an award-winning charity which works to reduce the impact and instances of sexual harm through prevention, rehabilitation, education and safeguarding.
We have a long record of working within the field of reducing impact of sexual harm. We work with Survivors and others impacted by sexual violence to help them heal and perpetrators to help them to avoid re-offending.
We are organisational members of the BACP, and take referrals from organisations such as Victim Support, Children’s and Social Services, Rape Crisis, Probation Victim Liaison Units, GP Surgeries etc as well as from potential clients themselves.
Volunteers are at the core of what we do, and operate across all aspects of our work.
What will you be doing?
Trustees ensure their charity has a clear strategy and that all decisions put the needs of the service users first. They safeguard the charity’s assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation. They make sure these are used well and that the charity is run sustainably. They hold the CEO to account and provide support and encouragement to them and the team. Trustees are jointly responsible for all their decisions and work together to ensure the charity delivers it’s aims.

We strongly value the contribution that people with these characteristics would bring to our board discussions.
What difference will you make?
We are looking for a Trustees to contribute to our plans for an exciting future. While continuing to provide Circles across the South East we aim to further develop our complementary services of counselling, victim support and training. We are constantly innovating new methods to deliver our goals and currently have two funded pilot projects which we hope to further develop. We have recently secured sustainable funding for our core Circles work providing trustees with a fabulous opportunity to be part of the charity as we build on this.
Commitment:
Estimate of time needed: up to five hours per month.
The board normally meets 5 times a year. The board meetings are quarterly and usually take place 4-6pm on a weekday. We are currently meeting remotely.

We are looking to appoint a new Trustee to the Board to support CHEER’s mission of providing advice, friendship and support to Elmbridge’s older community.
We’re particularly seeking someone interested in supporting charify fundraising across individual giving, coerporate and major donor fundraising and community fundraising. However, we are also open to hearing from anyone with experience in business management, marketing, finance, human resources and/or older people and social care for other opportunities.
If you have an interest in the issues surrounding the elderly living in the UK, a desire to give those who need a helping hand somewhere to go to get help and support - we’d love to hear from you.
More on CHEER: CHEER is a registered charity serving the local community of Elmbridge for over 60 years. Our mission is to provide advice, friendship, and support to help older community in Elmbridge lead full, dignified and independent lives. We do so through delivery of 5 core services (befriending, benefits, events, signposting and CHEER’s Parkinson’s group) designed to reduce loneliness and social isolation and alleviate financial hardship.
We consistently achieve remarkable things with minimal resources and are often told we have changed people's lives relying on a dedicated team of staff, trustees and volunteers to deliver these essential and beneficial services.
Our trustees are all volunteers, most of whom live or work in the local community, and all of whom use their skills, knowledge and experience to guide and govern our service, shape strategy, and give direction to the charity. We are a small and friendly team, collectively responsible for CHEER and each enjoying the chance to contribute to our community.
The main responsibilities of a trustee are:
· Formulating and reviewing CHEER’s vision, values, and strategic direction
· Establishing and monitoring policies to provide guidance for staff
· Ensuring compliance with the Charity’s governing document and the law
· Ensuring accountability to such bodies as the Charities Commission, donors, staff and volunteers
· Managing the Charity’s resources responsibly
· Contributing to the discharge of the Board’s duties and effective Board performance
· Promoting the charity and protecting its excellent reputation
· Appointing staff, giving them guidance and support
· Monitoring the Charity’s performance
· All trustees are expected to adopt Nolan’s seven principles of public life: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership

In this, our fifteenth year of working with communities across Kent and Medway to bring enriching arts experiences to people living with dementia and their supporters, we are excited to extend and strengthen the ways in which people with dementia are involved in the running of Bright Shadow. As part of this mission, and as we continue to build upon and develop our ambitious work, we are seeking a new Chair of Trustees to join our existing board alongside a small number of new trustees including those living with dementia.
In conducting a wide search, we're hoping there will be people who put themselves forward that we may never otherwise have been in touch with. So, if you don't see yourself represented here please do put yourself forward; this is in no way an exhaustive list. And if you are new to being a trustee, don't worry, training and support will be provided.
We are keen to hear from people with lived experience of dementia, whilst also recognising that other life experiences may give you insights and understanding that could help the organisation to develop.
- Do you have experience of working in or supporting, larger charity structures, the health and social care sector, or fundraising and philanthropy?
- Are you an artist or arts sector leader?
- Are you living with dementia, or supporting someone with a dementia diagnosis?
- Are you a disabled person and/or someone who in other ways has rights under the Equalities Act 2010?
In also conducting our search for a Chair alongside new trustees, we are also seeking someone who can is interested in fulfilling additional responsibilities comprising
- Providing leadership to the organisation and the board
- Confidence in chairing and facilitating board meetings, including agenda setting with the Chief Executive
- Supporting the Chief Executive including through an annual appraisal
- Representing Bright Shadow at functions and meetings, and act as a spokesperson as appropriate
- Bringing impartiality and objectivity to decision making

SEED Madagascar is looking for two new Trustees to work on its Board of Trustees and with the Managing Director and his team. One role is to be the Vice Chair to support our Chair across her role, and the second role is to bring fundraising expertise to support SEED in its vital work in Madagascar.
SEED is growing and rising to the challenges that the country and its people are facing, and these Trustees will play an important role in SEED’s development.
SEED delivers impactful projects with communities in the southeast of Madagascar in the fields of community health, sustainable livelihoods, conservation and school infrastructure. More recently SEED has responded to the famine affecting many families in the areas it works with emergency food distribution.
The new Trustees will bring experience of working at a senior level in the not-for-profit sector. The Vice Chair will bring governance experience, and the fundraising trustee will have experience of fundraising in organsiations of a similar size. We are looking for a passion for, and understanding of, international development, along with strong people skills and a good grasp of strategic planning.

Join Neuroverse Charity as a Trustee

Our purpose:
We are a brand new nonprofit, grassroots charity, currently in its founding stages. We are recruiting trustees to become part of our innovative, changemaking governing body to grow Neuroverse into a leading force for neurodivergent support and empowerment.
We have multiple aims that are all reflective of the lived experiences of our own community and the common themes and needs that show up again and again and desperately need addressing and responding to. Examples are:
- Inconsistent, non-inclusive models: Many learning models lack a unified, inclusive approach to community support.
- Lack of holistic, authentic community spaces: Few environments foster learning, creativity, and support, leading to isolation.
- Insufficient support for the newly diagnosed: Limited resources and nonmedical, compassionate support are available for those newly diagnosed and their caregivers.

An educational leader - to bring valuable insights from your teaching background, such as experience as a former SEND teacher or in a similar educational role.

Music Theatre Wales is looking for new Trustees including our first Young Trustee
We are inviting applications for Trustees and Young Trustees (aged 18 to 25).
What are we looking for in our Trustees?
We want Trustees to bring commitment and enthusiasm for the work MTW is doing to re-imagine opera. We want Trustees who care about the things we care about - ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusion lie at the heart of all our work, driving the creative development we believe opera needs, working with artists new to opera, creating opera in different and innovative shapes and forms and learning from the people we work with. We want Trustees who are pro-active and happy to stand up for our vision, and who will also be our critical friend.
Board Leads
We have recently established a number of Board Leads, where a Trustee takes responsibility for a specific area of the company’s work, supporting and consulting with the MTW team and project leads to ensure best possible practice. We will be looking to recruit a Board Lead for our work in Butetown (we are committed to working in Butetown from January 2024 – Summer 2026), alongside the Leads for Welsh, Diversity, Safeguarding and Environment.
Why do we want Young Trustees?
It’s crucial to our work to have young people’s ideas and expertise in the organisation. We need the broadest range of perspective on our Board, and we want to be guided by a range of people who can contribute to the continued development of our work across all communities, and that includes young people. We are looking to recruit at least one person aged 18 to 25 to bring their voice to the table, to help us find the best ways forward for the future of opera, for the future of the company and most importantly, for future audiences and artists from all backgrounds.
We also want to support young people in their professional and personal development, and we will work with Young Trustees to ensure this is an opportunity for them to build their knowledge and experience. Young Trustees will receive mentoring from existing Trustees and training will be provided for any areas they feel less confident in.
In addition to the recruitment of a young trustee and Board Lead for Butetown, we are also looking to recruit Trustees in a general capacity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, ages, skills and experience.
