This includes ensuring that operational research is supported by robust costing and cost-effectiveness analysis. The Research Adviser will work within theNutrition Unit of the Operations Department at Action Against Hunger UK.
As Research Advisor you will:
- Support or lead the implementation of a wide range of research projects (including evidence synthesis, economic evaluation, programme evaluations, clinical trials, coverage surveys, Link NCAs and community studies)
- Support the development of new research projects which includes building research partnerships
- Support evidence dissemination, knowledge management, research uptake activities as well as the development of training materials.
You will be involved in internal projects and external consultancy projects. In addition to members of the Nutrition team, you will work with external partners which might include other NGOs, academic partners, UN agencies and independent consultants. You will apply analytical skills, strong technical experience and enjoy a flexible and adaptive working environment, while supporting the positioning of Action Against Hunger as a key reference on nutrition assessments and research. We are looking for an experienced Grants Writer and Coordinator to lead on expanding income from a sustainable portfolio of trusts and foundations. The post holder will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to significantly increase our restricted and unrestricted income, aiming to surpass £500,000 this year. Overall purpose
The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.
You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.
We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. Overall purpose
The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, leading and implementing key aspects of our communications and engagement strategy. Ultimately through the partnership, we aim to reach more people affected by dementia, helping them be better informed and in control of decisions on energy efficiency and safety. The post being advertised is part of this partnership and is fixed term for 2 years.
As a Dementia Adviser, you will:
- Offer a vital and compassionate service delivering information, guidance and support to guide those affected by dementia
- Provide dementia support face-to-face, by telephone and online.
- Managing referrals, assisting clients in assessing their information and support needs in a person-centred manner.
- Facilitate face-to-face group services including our Singing for the Brain face to face group and our Carer Information Programme.

About you

Mini Malvern Nursery is for children aged 6 months and up. The nursery comprises of three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens with adventure play areas, in addition to accessing The Downs Malvern’s beautiful 55-acre site, including a Forest School and a smallholding with pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our youngest children and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery provision remains at a consistently high standard.
