Community Fundraiser Scotland
Brain Tumour Research is looking for a Community Fundraiser to provide support, and to help our donors and supporters fundraise, building connections to ensure a lifetime relationship between the charity and individual.

Salary: Circa £28,500 per annum

We are seeking a relational, engaging, creative individual, with a proven track record in an external communications or campaigns role to lead our small Engagement Team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Development, management and implementation of the Communications Strategy for Interserve GBI and its publications;
- Ensuring that communications and information-flow across the organisation are effective and co-ordinated;
- Oversight of the work of the Engagement Team in linking with churches and individuals;
- Management of Interserve’s fundraising approach and activities;
- Building an effective online and social media presence that supports the objectives of engagement, including appropriately targeted media traffic that best serves Interserve’s different audiences.

Purpose
We’re looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for social change with their commitment to digital communications. The person in this role will line manage a small and talented team of two officers (Marketing and Content, and Digital Communications), and should enjoy supporting others to flourish through a kind and relational approach.
Part of a busy department of specialists in communications (including digital and press), public affairs and policy, you will play a critical role in shaping our digital engagement strategy through our website, social media channels and email marketing. As well as leading the team to expand our reach and build brand awareness through creative content, you will also have a keen eye for analytics and work with our partner agencies to deliver effective campaigns across paid social media ads, Google Ads and CMS management.

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.
Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK. Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment. Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system. This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. The role will be responsible for delivering and creating bespoke development plans, supported by engaging cultivation and stewardship activities to secure increased funding from existing and new donors. To succeed, candidates will have experience of running a Philanthropy/major giving programme, with extensive experience of managing their own pool of donors, as well as a track record of securing five and six figure donations from high net-worth individuals. Data and Research Officer

The post-holder will play a key role within the Development team, maintaining the integrity of the College’s alumni database that underpins every aspect of the team’s work. The post holder will shape and deliver the College’s prospect research strategy, managing the prospect pipeline and supporting the fundraising programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Update, enhance and improve the alumni database (Raiser’s Edge) on a regular basis, ensuring that information is entered consistently, accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Maintain the integrity of the database, including importing and exporting data to/from RE, managing and uploading current student and alumni data from the central University database (CamSIS), College publication returns, the internet and other updates.
- Liaise with Cambridge University Development & Alumni Relations (CUDAR) on a regular basis to exchange updated alumni details.
- Work with the Director and Deputy Director to manage the prospect pipeline, including conducting initial research into potential supporters.
- Produce detailed alumni profiles and briefings for the Director of Development and the Master for key meetings and events.
- Accurately record all gifts, pledges and legacies on the database and ensure procedures are effective and up-to-date.
- Ensure Gift Aid agreements are correctly recorded and renewed as appropriate.
- Prepare donors’ lists for Governing Body, Council and relevant College publications.
- Work alongside the Deputy Development Director to complete the Annual Development Questionnaire (ADQ).
- Conduct research to find lost alumni and re-establish contact via new address and email details.
- Deal with returned mail in a timely and organised manner, and with email “unsubscribes” and bounce-backs.
- Handle the notification of deceased members by recording information on the database, liaising with family members regarding obituaries for inclusion in the College Magazine.
- Help devise new systems and processes to enable the work of the office to be carried out with ever greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Hours of Work
Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.
Frequent travel to meet and interview beneficiaries will be required, along with a willingness to work outside normal office hours to obtain the story.
We have a friendly, supportive, and inclusive environment with a hybrid working framework involving the opportunity to work from home and in the RNRMC offices. There will be a small number of roles where employees will be required to work only from our offices, but typically most employees will be able to work remotely on average 40% of their working week.
