Objectives of this Role

- To work with staff to ensure the efficient functioning of the Nehemiah houses, including maintenance reporting, compliance checks, purchasing and budgeting

This role leads estates and facilities management across the organisation. A diverse and hands-on role, you will be highly organised, knowledgeable in estates management practices, including relevant legislation, health and safety and carrying out risk assessments. You will be a great communicator, developing relationships with external contractors and our own internal teams. You will manage a small team of one, and liaise closely with colleagues who have responsibility for the day to day operational uses of our sites, and who want to provide the very best experience to their client users. This is a critical role for the charity: you will embrace ownership, work with initiative and spot opportunities for improving all aspects of our estates and facilities management!
From managing daily cleaning and maintenance routines, to overseeing larger projects, this is a unique opportunity to build and develop the estate management routines at our newest site in Stratford, and to become involved in some key pieces of capital project work designed to enhance the experience of our client users across the organisation. The Role:

Key Responsibilities Include:
Commercial & Business Development:
· Own our commercial relationships with the Ministry of Justice and other major customers.

Experience & Background Required:
We welcome applicants with relevant commercial and contract management experience from the public, private or not for profit sectors. Successful applicants are likely to have had a track record in negotiating public sector contracts and building relationships with commissioners and procurement professionals. Experience in education, training, apprenticeships or justice services would be of particular interest.
It is essential that the role holder is Financially and IT literate, someone who can lead the commercial function, manage our outsourced IT infrastructure providers and provide business leadership to the management of all internal supply contracts.
You will work closely with the Finance team and support the remote working Head of Finance to provide oversight and support to our finance team members based at Head Office.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE
Missing People’s Business Development team works to improve the response to missing children, missing adults, and their families, through innovative services, training and consultancy projects. We work with police, local authority leads and front-line local authority practitioners, Health, Education, and the voluntary sector. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of projects and supporting with bids and funding applications. You will also play a key role in promoting the team’s work. You will be confident at communicating with a wide range of professionals and senior representatives of organisations who commission our services. 1. Financial Management
- Be responsible for and run the organisation’s bookkeeping and financial management processes including invoices, expenses and bank payments.

- At least 3 years’ relevant professional experience in a similar administrative, financial or management role.
- Experience of using accounting software and managing the financial administration of an organisation including paying and issuing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, and running payroll.
- Experience and confidence in producing and managing an organisational cashflow, budgets and management accounts.
- Experience of preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Experience of creating and reviewing HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills
- As part of a small team you will also need the ability to turn your hand to a variety of tasks.
