About the role:
The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. You will be joining us at an exciting time of development, as we open at our third site in Islington, welcome new members of staff to our team and begin work on a new strategy for 2025-2028. Purpose of the post: You will be the sole role for the Charity’s finances and will support our small team in a vibrant, prolific and growing organisation which provides quality assurance and membership services to institutions delivering training, education and assessment in dance, drama and musical theatre.

Essential requirements for this position:
· Accounting qualification part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent, with experience

· Good communication skills to liaise with customers and suppliers, and the ability to assist with ad-hoc office administration as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain the General Ledger – raising invoices, issuing credit notes, allocating cash.
· Processing purchase invoices and paying, bank reconciliations, and credit control
- Running the monthly payroll for 4/5 people
- Reconciliation of all Balance sheet accounts
- Administer online banking, credit cards and the Paypal account
- Assist Director with the annual Budget
- Sending all the year-end information to the Independent Examiner

You will also be responsible for the production of the Management Accounts for the Board three times a year including:

- Preparing the Balance Sheet
- Reports to Trustees
- Producing the above reports in keeping with Charity SORP accounting.
Together with responsibility for reporting to HMRC, Charity Commission, Companies House, Trustees, Independent Examiner and Banking organisations, you may also be requested to produce ad-hoc reports and carry out any other duties that are necessary to perform the role.

Role
This is a new position. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all the duties required to maintain a complete general ledger and financial records and support financial planning/forecasting.
International Accountant Responsibilities
— The responsibilities of the International Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
International Accounting Operations
- Develop a General Ledger Chart of Accounts which supports our current grantmaking operations with the flexibility to accommodate various directions in our growth, allows easy consolidation with sister entities, and is IFRS compliant to allow us to provide regulatory and audit reporting in various jurisdictions.
- Implement optimal Chart of Accounts and processes, evaluating current and alternate accounting systems as needed and developing interface processes to existing systems as needed (HRIS, Payroll, Grants Management System, expense reporting) as needed.
- Perform duties necessary for the timely and accurate verification and recording of financial and investment (MRI/PRI) operations including general ledger, entries and reconciliations, investment portfolio tracking and transactions, international payroll, benefits and taxes.
- Work closely with Human Relations Specialist on payroll and benefits administration processes.
- Collaborate with senior management team, Operations Manager and others to determine an optimal process for reviewing and approving expenses.
- Audit corporate credit card(s).
- Identify institution and global consolidated reporting needs with senior management team and agree schedule and distribution for regular financial reporting.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of the annual organisational and department budgets.
- Monitor and provide quarterly budget performance reports and analysis to organisation and departments with close cooperation to develop and implement measures to minimize variance.
- Assist staff to self-manage budgets.
- Support financial planning and forecasting including developing scenarios for growth.
Cash Flow Management
- Reconcile annual and quarterly projected expenses and cash flow requirements and coordinate with family office for redemption decisions.
- With Operations Manager and Human Relations Specialist, maintain and improve policies and organization discipline for accurate and timely processing of accounts payables, employee expense reports, travel guidelines, time reporting, etc.
Regulatory and Audit Compliance (initially in support of regulatory reporting through the family office)
- Strengthen financial systems integrity and controls according to IFRS, tax and regulatory measures and foundation policies.
- Build systems for timely and accurate provision of data and provide direct support for annual audit and tax filing.
- Work with external advisors, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant country and international regulatory requirements in areas of taxes, documentation requirements, payroll and benefits.
General and Other
- Develop and manage relationships with accounting-related service providers as needed including in-country and global accountants, auditors, payroll and tax experts.
- Develop and maintain an asset inventory/schedule.
- Support for MRI/PRI activities as needed.
- Continually improve internal financial processes.
- Potential management of banking relationships, international wire transfer and/or other payments systems.
- Occasional travel as required for execution of duties.
- Other duties as are consistent with accountant’s role and experience as the foundation continues to evolve, or from time to time as prompted by institutional priorities.
Qualifications

- Several years of progressively responsible professional experience in international accounting, ideally in an international organisation and / or in auditing / tax consulting.
- Accounting experience in philanthropy or non-profit.
- Experience in multiple tax jurisdictions and working in multi-currency environments.

The Finance Manager & Company Secretary role is a dual role where you will ensure efficient and effective planning and management of the charity’s finances and take charge of secretarial duties. The postholder will ensure appropriate financial policy and procedures are in place, to deliver effective financial management and decision making. - Work with all departments to ensure volunteers are integrated and well managed when on shift in their roles
- Oversee and enact all volunteer policies and procedures, playing an active part of annual reviews and ongoing development of these key documents
- Manage the tone and style of communication with all volunteers, managing expectations and keeping them up to date on all Storyhouse news and opportunities
- Keep up to date with best practice and legislation in the volunteer sector

Recruitment
- Proactively and innovatively manage all volunteer recruitment, creating a diverse pool of volunteers to support our work across the organisation
- Ensure relevant DBS checks are conducted and personal references are obtained, highlighting any concerns
- Support with the development and delivery of volunteer inductions
- Support the Head of People with the creation of volunteer opportunities that both support our teams and provide a first-class experience for the volunteer
- Process leavers relevant systems, monitoring the completion of exit interviews
- Audit & monitor uniform levels, issuing to volunteers, highlighting when stock levels are low
Training
- Maintain our online training records, ensuring volunteers have completed required training
- Assist with the organisation of in-house training by booking spaces, compiling presentations and relevant paperwork, or coordinate the booking of external training providers coming on-site as required
Programme Development
- Attend networking events, open days and recruitment fairs, representing Storyhouse and raising the profile of our work with volunteers
- Work with the Head of People to produce reports on the volunteer programme to the Senior Leadership Team, trustees and other stakeholders as required
- Develop relationships with our partnership organisations and wider networks to maintain and develop existing and new volunteer opportunities
- Work with Young Storyhouse to offer Young Leader graduates volunteer opportunities
- Work on volunteer incentives, recognition and reward schemes across the year
General
- Act in accordance with Storyhouse’s policies and procedures, and undertake any training as required by Storyhouse
- Act as a role model for other staff and contribute to the life of the organisation as a whole
- Carry out any other duties as may be required as part of the Volunteer Coordinator’s role
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role working with volunteers, ideally in a visitor-facing environment
- Experience developing learning pathways for volunteers
- Experience delivering engaging training sessions to a wide range of audiences
- Experience creating positive team environments
- Experience networking and developing mutually beneficial working relationships
- Personal volunteering experience (desirable)
- High level of understanding of volunteer legislation in the UK (relevant qualification desirable)

About the role
We’re looking for a self-motivated and driven public health, inclusion and awareness manager. This is an exciting time to join Breast Cancer Now and the public health, inclusion and awareness team as we continue to grow as a charity and our work across the UK. Your role will continue to help drive forward our team’s work, which is to empower patients and the public to play a full role in managing their own risk of getting breast cancer, diagnosing breast cancer earlier and improving their quality of life after a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Thereby reducing the risk of recurrence.
You’ll be responsible for managing and expanding the development and implementation of behaviour change programmes across the UK. This includes growing our public health talk programme for external organisations and specific partners.
You’ll work closely with the associate director, public health, inclusion and awareness to deliver public health activities as identified in our strategy and team plans and work across the wider directorate and organisation.
About you
You’ll be a self-starter with proven experience of developing and delivering public health and inclusion initiatives, campaigns, behaviour change projects and programmes. This includes community based and digital interventions. You’ll have strong experience in people and volunteer management.
A confident communicator, you’ll have experience of developing and delivering training programmes or public health activities in a community setting to diverse audiences. You’ll be able to develop and maintain positive relationships at a local level with external organisations and groups including those from under-represented communities. You’ll also have experience of managing and supporting volunteers.
Highly organised, you’ll have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Someone who can demonstrate initiative, undertake projects independently and see projects through to completion, including both the management and evaluation of projects.

Nightingale Hammerson cares for over 250 residents, tailoring our approaches within our residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care teams. As our Intergenerational Care Coordinator, you will lead the intergenerational care strategy, organising events and building connections across generations. You'll collaborate with schools, community groups, and Jewish organisations, while designing lesson plans and contributing to educational projects. Your work will have a positive impact, promoting our values and enhancing lives.
What will your typical day involve?
You will lead the intergenerational care strategy, working with Nightingale Hammerson teams and external stakeholders. Key tasks include organising intergenerational events, creating spontaneous engagement opportunities, and fostering communication with Jewish organisations, synagogues, schools, and community centres.
You'll produce reports to show the impact of the programme and contribute to educational and research projects. Impeccable customer service is essential, as you'll welcome visitors and ensure a positive experience. Additionally, you'll develop departmental processes to improve efficiency and promote Nightingale Hammerson’s values.
You’ll also handle telephone and email enquiries, maintain strong working relationships, and occasionally support evening and weekend events.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with a Diploma in Intergenerational Care and Education being essential. They must demonstrate a willingness to have a positive impact on people’s lives, possess excellent communication skills with a kind and caring approach, and have a strong understanding of Jewish culture and way of life.
Essential skills include literacy and numeracy for producing written materials and statistical information, alongside excellent IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, record systems, and video call programmes.
Flexibility to meet service needs and the ability to work independently without constant supervision are key.
Experience in healthcare or educational settings is required, along with experience in leading or coordinating groups. The candidate should have experience designing lesson plans, and while experience in leading intergenerational engagements is desirable, it is not essential.
