Responsibilities of our Management Accountant:

- work closely with Budget Holders to provide expert support and insight to aid financial decisionmaking

- provide financial reports and analysis for the Charity and its trading subsidiary, including the production of monthly management accounts and support the production of the statutory accounts and the related external audit

- deliver the budgetsetting and reforecasting processes and provide financial expertise and support to budget-holders across the charity, working closely with the rest of the team to deliver a joined up and robust set of numbers and commentary

- provide analytical skills for strategic and operational improvements, including reviewing business cases and supporting projects

- work collaboratively with the rest of the team to deliver financial planning and analysis functions, as well as supporting the wider Finance team to deliver an efficient and effective service to the Charity

About the Finance team:

- responsible for managing the financial operations of the Charity

- plays a vital role in the organisation’s success by ensuring sound financial management, betterinformed decision making and supporting delivery of the overall strategy

- responsibility for key tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis

- the Management Accounts team are a team of five, reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, all of whom support the Head of Budgeting & Reporting

- the wider Finance team includes the Operational Finance team, including AP, financial accounting and payroll

• CCAB qualification
• Collaborative and proactive approach, working with Finance and wider colleagues to solve problems and continually improve the work we do
• Confident in the use of accounting packages, data manipulation and assimilation of information from multiple sources

• Experience of the Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees)

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. We are experts in supporting young people and politicians to engage through political contact.

We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Office Manager would work with our small team of 7 staff by providing organisational and administrative support. 

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organisational skills, advanced proficiency in G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), general bookkeeping skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Experience of working with a database  is a desirable skill.

The post holder will:

• Work with the Director and wider team to ensure efficient office operations.
• Implement and maintain procedures/office administrative systems.
• Manage office supplies and equipment.
• Manage databases. Check that data protection laws are being adhered to in relation to the storage of data, and review and update policies (training can be provided).
• Organise regular internal meetings and planning days.
• Provide administrative support to the Director including scheduling meetings and handling correspondence.
• Book and arrange travel for staff.
• Process invoices and staff expenses. 
• Managing office budgets.
• Order stationery and IT equipment.
• Assisting the organisation's HR functions by keeping personnel records up to date, arranging interviews and overseeing the administration process for inducting new staff.

The job is based on a 12 month fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension. 

The Politics Project is based in London and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week. The role is part time, 4 days a week. Working hours will be agreed with the post holder when they start. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.         

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.

You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. Full or part-time positions available.

Our Immigration Advice Programme

We have a long and proud history of providing immigration advice to the Latin American community and has extensive experience with the varied and complex needs that arise from the UK's ever-changing immigration system. Our Immigration Advice Programme is designed to meet these needs through the provision of specialist one-to-one advice and casework services, delivered in Spanish and Portuguese, as well as identifying and addressing policy changes and how they impact our community.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an immigration adviser to lead our dynamic immigration advice team and help shape the future of the programme as part of the senior management team at a fast-growing charity in London. As IRMO's Immigration Advice Programme Manager, you will bring your expertise and experience together to organise, implement and improve our range of immigration services to offer the maximum benefit for our community, in both the short and long term. 

Your responsibilities will include implementing and progressing the programme's overarching strategy; the ongoing development and training of team members; representing IRMO across broader advice networks; and advising on organisational responsibilities related to immigration. You will also have the chance to develop new, cross-over skills beyond advice provision.

Key Experience and Qualifications for the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Registered Immigration Adviser at OISC Level 2 or 3 with at least two years of recent and continuous relevant experience in immigration. The ideal candidate will also have a minimum of three years of experience managing programmes or projects, particularly in advice and community support services.

The role requires a proven track record in delivering against targets and demonstrated experience in line managing people in a variety of roles, supporting staff to work to their full potential.

The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain (Youth and Children’s Bands) is the UK’s leading brass band for children and teenagers.

The Band exists to give exceptionally gifted young brass and percussion instrumentalists the opportunity to perform advanced music and receive the highest quality teaching, care and help to provide the brass band movement and the music profession with the next generation of brass players. The role will involve developing strategic communications, in order to raise public awareness of the Band’s work to support and market its courses and concerts as well as supporting fund raising for the organisation.
