About this role:
This role is a remote role (must be in England or Wales) within a supportive and friendly team. As the Fundraising Officer for Community and Events you will:
- Support the delivery of a successful fundraising plan that aligns with Victim Support's vision, mission and values.
- Implement and support impactful activities associated with our Community, Fundraising Events and Individual Giving income streams.
- Develop, advertise and recruit fundraisers into a calendar of third-party events.
- Provide excellent supporter care by offering support, guidance and fundraising materials to cultivate long-term relationships.
- Write and design engaging fundraising communications such as newsletters, appeals, articles, case studies and thank-you correspondence.
- Encourage and facilitate effective fundraising activity by our staff and volunteers outside the Fundraising Team.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in setting and successfully meeting goals
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with different audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Good organisational skills; ability to work under own initiative, flexible and able to prioritise effectively
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases and a familiarity with social media
Ideally, you will have previous experience working in a fundraising or communications related role, and have a good working understanding and knowledge of the charity sector and available funding sources; however, this is not a requirement.

As the research lead you will be conducting exciting and innovative research projects and embedding a research culture across our organisation. You will be involved in campaigning for change and thought leadership activities within the borough and beyond.
The Research Coordinator will take forward some of our strategic goals around evidencing the causes of Foodbank use, participation work with those using Foodbank services and influencing work and practice across our Foodbank.
This role will be responsible for conducting primary research covering a range of areas to better understand the lived experience of people experiencing and at risk of food poverty, the causes of food poverty and solutions to ending food poverty and hunger. You will benefit from the established support network of other Trussell Trust Foodbanks conducting similar research programmes. The Research Coordinator will be a key part of our wider stakeholder engagement, using evidence to ensure that H&F Foodbank is a respected evidence centre working towards our goal of ending food poverty.

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.

What we’re looking for
An experienced Legacy and In Memory fundraising or marketing professional with a proven track record of developing and implementing campaigns aimed at creating legacy awareness, securing legacy pledges and increasing in memory donations for the Macular Society.
You’ll be familiar with and comfortable analysing data and insights that inform decision making and approaches towards legacy and in memory marketing, ensuring these activities are well targeted and effective, using a range of channels.
Once secured, you’ll also be passionate about providing the best possible supporter care and experience, bringing people closer to the cause and encouraging ongoing support.

It’s a busy and varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to see how each shop is run, work with some amazing teams and make a vital contribution to the care the at the Hospice and within the community.

- Salary: £26,279 up to £28,429 FTE per annum, dependant on experience
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days in 7

Key responsibilities:
- Holding and covering the role of a Store Manager on an interim basis wherever required within our Central Area shops
- Adapting your leadership style and approach to individual store situations and circumstances to effectively lead, coach teams and volunteers
- When supporting or covering stores, to ensure that the Hospice’s operational, health and safety, people and volunteer policies and procedures are being followed
- Delivering consistently high retail standards
- Actively supporting and demonstrating our values through your role
- Promotion of diversity and gender rights
What we are looking for:
- To be able to be flexible, pro active and to be able to adapt to ever changing needs
- Ideally, you will bring previous retail experience, gained at managerial / supervisory level
- Commercial awareness and demonstrable experience of managing a team, volunteers and delivering outstanding customer service would be equally advantageous
- A genuine interest in fashion and charity retail
- Ability to earn trust, motivate, build rapport and provide leadership within short timescales
- High levels of organisation with a proactive approach
- Open and adaptable to change and able to support others through it
- IT literacy and numeracy skills. Using email systems and online resources; use and understand basic spreadsheets

The post requires a high degree of flexibility around working days and hours as well as the ability to travel within North East London to support the meaningful involvement of young people in the project.
