We now have an exciting opening for a Head of Media, PR & Editorial. The postholder will be responsible for developing and supporting key campaigns and strategies that help to promote and explain the work, impact, health messaging and funding needs to diverse audiences. You will achieve these through PR and media relations, awareness-raising campaign development, supporter stories, celebrity/ambassador management, and the management of a small team, including staff and specialist consultant support.
We are seeking an experienced communications professional with demonstrable expertise and a track-record of success in managing communications for a charity, health or science-related organisation, including developing successful media strategies, with positive press coverage, and writing clear, engaging copy for different audiences across digital and social media channels. The successful candidate will also have proven experience planning and managing multiple cross-departmental projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Psychologist with forensic psychology experience to join our clinical team, supporting a specialist service based in Croydon. The service operates within a 27-bed residential facility that cares for individuals with forensic mental health needs, complex conditions, and dual diagnoses. As a key member of the clinical team, you will provide evidence-based psychological assessments and interventions, focusing on the rehabilitation and reintegration of residents with complex mental health and forensic backgrounds.
This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with mental health professionals, including those with forensic expertise, allowing you to make a significant impact on service development. You will also play a vital role in driving clinical improvements and contributing to the strategic direction of our forensic mental health services.
Your responsibilities will include conducting in-depth clinical assessments, designing tailored intervention plans, and offering specialist psychological supervision and guidance to staff to ensure high-quality, therapeutic support. You will be instrumental in shaping the clinical care of individuals with complex presentations, including those with forensic histories, mental health challenges, and behavioural disorders.
Penrose Croydon: Our Croydon facility offers a psychologically informed environment across four distinct sites, providing medium and low-support forensic mental health services to men and women. These services are designed to support residents' rehabilitation and aid their successful reintegration into the community. The job holder will work across different sites in the South London area, offering flexibility and the opportunity to engage with a variety of services and residents in need of support.
Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, with flexible scheduling based on service needs. There may be opportunities for remote work, depending on service requirements.
Salary: NHS Equivalent Band 8A

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a motivated, clinically driven professional who can take leadership in creating and sustaining a positive, psychologically informed environment. You will be confident in delivering complex psychological assessments, developing therapeutic frameworks, and providing clinical supervision to the wider team. Your experience as a Forensic Psychologist will include working with individuals presenting challenging behaviours and mental health issues within forensic or high-risk settings. In this role, you will not only work alongside fellow Forensic Psychologists but also play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the service. You will have the opportunity to influence organisational change, contributing to the wider development of clinical practices within the organisation.
What we are looking for:
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)
- HCPC registration as an applied Psychologist
- Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector
- Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
- Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
- Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
- Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise

Administration and compliance

You'll have the opportunity to grow our online presence and strengthen the community of supporters advocating for those affected by MND.
You will develop and publish accessible digital content that reflects our brand. You'll be 'the voice of the Association' on social media, protecting our reputation and ensuring our channels remain professional, positive, and compliant with GDPR and copyright laws.
You will collaborate with teams across the organisation to ensure coordinated and effective social media activities, whether providing full support or offering guidance. The role will also include providing support and training to staff and volunteers in their use of social media. Additionally, you will play a key role in implementing our social media strategy.

Job Purpose
Save the Children is looking for an ambitious and driven media professional with exceptional project management skills to develop and lead on Save the Children's media activity in Scotland, as well as line managing and supporting the senior media managers in N. Ireland and Wales and supporting them to implement their strategies.
The role will involve developing and driving the media and communications strategy in Scotland to support fundraising, policy, public affairs and brand objectives. You will also help create materials and social media content for Scotland's communications channels. The scope will cover Save the Children's Scotland, UK-wide and international work.
The role will also line manage two senior media managers – one in Wales and one in Northern Ireland. You will lead and support them to deliver effective media and communications plans, while ensuring strategic co-ordination across the devolved nations and with the Save the Children UK office in England.
You will be highly organised and persuasive, with a good knowledge and understanding of child poverty issues and key political debates. You will have experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure. You will have demonstrated the ability to manage or support others to achieve results.

Main Accountabilities
The Media Lead – Scotland's key duties will be to:
• Develop and implement a media and communications plan for Scotland that will deliver proactive and reactive coverage in support of Save the Children's influencing and fundraising objectives.
• Lead and manage the Senior Media Managers in Wales and Northern Ireland to develop and implement their own media plans. Provide them with technical and strategic guidance.
• Map, build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, commentators, opinion formers, bloggers and documentary makers in your media market.
• Write compelling and hard-hitting media briefings and press releases focussing on Save the Children's work in Scotland, to influence policy makers and key stakeholders.
• Cultivate and harness the skills and expertise of colleagues – especially programmes and policy teams in Scotland - in our media and communications work, including by launching products like reports and coaching media spokespeople.
• Respond quickly to relevant breaking news to achieve cut through for policy calls.
• Identify and support children and families to tell their stories in media and communications, ensuring that ethical standards and best practice are maintained at all times. This includes children and families supported by Save the Children in Scotland and those fundraising or campaigning for our work.
• Protect Save the Children's reputation, developing and implementing crisis management media strategies and rebuttal as required.
Person Profile
• Experience as a news journalist or in media handling, and a strong track record of success in obtaining media coverage in a variety of outlets. Experience should include strong examples of developing strategies and obtaining significant coverage on own initiative.

About the role
As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Digital Storyteller

Combine your passion for nature with your digital skills! We’re looking for a talented communicator who can tease out stories from across the Trust and turn them into compelling social media content. You might be out and about across Cumbria, gathering content at our sites and with project teams, or in the office putting together videos and infographics.
You’ll need a strong understanding of the social media landscape and an ability to select and tailor content for different channels, finding ways to increase supporter engagement and reach diverse audiences. You’ll also be great at explaining your ideas – from the serious to the silly – and getting people involved.

About this role
This new role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is an exciting opportunity to join our team who have been supporting adults with learning disabilities for almost 40 years. As we look to the future, we need to consider new opportunities to build partnerships and collaborations to build a strong, resilient network of third-sector organisations in Swindon and the surrounding area.
Main responsibilities
- Work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and members to develop and deliver against a Strategic Business Plan.
- To act as the lead relationship manager with partners on behalf of The Open Door Centre.
- Take responsibility for diversifying fundraising, grants and income streams in line with the strategy and business development plan, be proactive in developing new leads and connections.
- Explore and develop joint grant bids by liaising with external partners to support grant applications that align with our strategic aims.
- Develop, monitor and maintain key systems and processes, such as effective funder reporting and review meetings, and monitoring and reporting on fundraising KPIs.
