About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in Oasis Academy Hadley and Lilian Baylis Technology School.
The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteer tutors, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
- Work directly with students in a professional and safe manner
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Match students with volunteer tutors
- Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
- Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Manage tutor attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring systems
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from more senior University Access Officers and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for UAOs to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.

We have multiple positions available in services in Camden and Westminster to join our dynamic teams in providing tailored support to our clients with multiple disadvantage.
As a Project Worker Multiple Disadvantage, your primary purpose is to provide comprehensive, trauma informed support to residents within a psychologically sensitive accommodation setting. Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the wellbeing, safety and development of residents.
About the roles in our women's services in Camden:
In this role, you will be part of a specialist team working with women who have complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance misuse, offending behaviour, and physical health issues. You’ll use a gender-informed approach, ensuring that women feel safe, supported, and empowered. This role will give you the opportunity to provide personalised support, helping clients develop independent living skills, build social networks, and access external services.
Your day-to-day work will involve conducting needs and risk assessments, creating support plans, and facilitating group work and structured interventions as part of our in-house recovery programme. You’ll work closely with external agencies to ensure that clients receive the holistic support they need, with a focus on both harm minimisation and recovery.

About the roles in our multiple disadvantage service in Westminster:
King George’s is a 68 bed hostel for men with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping. It is part of Westminster City Council’s Rough Sleepers Pathway. Many of our clients are deemed high risk/high support due to chronic mental health and physical health issues, high levels of substance misuse, and offending histories. We accept that our clients have experienced complex trauma, usually from a very early age and often throughout their lives including currently. For this reason, we work to imbed the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) approach in a service.
Reporting to the Manager, your role will require you to develop, support and motivate the people who we support and accommodate.We run a service that is creative, responsive and that provides a foundation which empowers people to achieve their aspirations and make positive and sustainable life changes. You will be crucial to making that happen. This role can make a real difference to individual's lives and crucially, support individuals many of whom face multiple disadvantages and have complex needs.
About you:
- A solid understanding of person-centred approaches, harm minimisation, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients, empowering them to engage with community resources and take positive steps forward.

Windsor Homeless Project – Night Shelter

About us:
We are Alma Beacon (the operating name for Windsor Christian Action Charity no. 11543080), a forward-thinking charity empowering disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the Windsor area to achieve better goals and outcomes. Three Projects sit within our Charity one of which is the Windsor Homeless Project. Our Charity’s purpose is to make an impact that matters for our “clients” who are often the most vulnerable people in society. People are at the heart of what we do.
With Alma Beacon, our new centre, opening in January 2024 and receiving planning permission in June 2024, we plan to reopen the Night Shelter for 10 weeks starting in early January, with opening times from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
To manage the night shelter, we are looking to hire four Shift Leaders who will work with the Trustees, our volunteers, and the Windsor Homeless Shift Leaders to ensure the smooth running of the shelter for our guests.
We propose to operate the Shift Leaders on a shift pattern 4 shifts one week 3 shifts the next week. With two shifts per night, 5.45 pm – 12.15 pm and 12.00 pm – 8.00 this allows for a handover,
Final shift patterns will be agreed upon with the Shift Leaders when hired
Responsibilities
- Work with your other Shift Leaders to manage the volunteers' rota for the following nights. If required contact volunteers to fill the gaps un the rota
- Open Alma Beacon
- Prepare the venue for the arrival of our guests with help from our volunteers
- In the morning ensure the venue is tidied and the beds are folded up and stored safely
- Highlight any bedding that needs to be washed
- Overseeing the provision of hot evening meals and simple breakfasts in conjunction with the volunteers
- Lock-up Alma Beacon
- If bedding or guest clothes require washing using the washing machines/dryers within Alma Beacon
- A daily handover email to the Windsor Homeless Project Manager highlighting any issues or concerns with the guests, maintenance issues, and any additional supply requirements.

Hounslow Young People is Supported Accommodation Service for young people and young parents aged 16-25 in Hounslow. The Service encompasses a mix of units across six sites supporting 63 vulnerable young people and 19 teen parents.

We are recruiting for Waking Night Support Worker to join our dynamic service and team. In the role of Waking Night Support Worker; individuals will ensure continues support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff with particular focus on safety of vulnerable young people.

We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Enhanced Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service in Islington.
£29,000.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week. Benefits include 25 days Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

Enhanced Support Workers enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package.
This is a fixed term contract, running until 30th March 2025

What you'll do:
Develop knowledge around the local mental health system to ensure customers receive the best treatment available
Lead on an area of specialism (e.g. ETE, health and wellbeing) and build partnerships and develop internal and external opportunities for service-users in this area
Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records, to set an example to colleagues of how best to complete paperwork records to professional standards
Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are up to date and checked regularly and managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team
Being pro-active and displaying good assertive engagement skills. To advocate for their key customers and other service users with the team, the community (where appropriate) and external providers.
Alongside the management team, checking that key health and safety tasks are completed to a good standard and supporting staff with day-to-day troubleshooting and setting best example for quality.
Setting an example of daily best practice and being an approachable figure to voice viewpoints to the management team

Support those who Care
This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Carers across City of London to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs. We are working with Carers from a range of cultures, and it would be an advantage to speak Bengali.
The team work holistically with Carers to understand their individual circumstances and level of need. You’ll carry out home visits and community-based meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Carers, families, and professionals. You will also support Carers to complete written forms and applications, draft letters, and advocate with third parties.
You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.
Together with colleagues, you will plan and deliver the service’s activity package, including coffee mornings, drop-in sessions, activities, online and face to face groups, and peer support forums. There will also be opportunities to promote the service by attending meetings and forums, and to deliver training sessions to professionals and community organisations so that they have the skills to identify Carers.
Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector.
This is a full-time position and you should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services.
