Librarian

Your role
The role of the Librarian is to care for, develop and promote the library resources of the CMS and the Pioneer Centre in such a way that they are available for all present and likely future needs of the Society’s staff, members and supporters, overseas partner churches and members of the public with identified research interests.

What you’ll need to succeed
Graduate or equivalent professional qualification in librarianship administration, records management or related fields with experience in computerised systems for library and records management, preferably in the charity and/or university setting. You will have good communications and working alongside an array of colleagues, agencies and volunteers.
It is also a requirement for this post holder to be in sympathy with CMS’s values and aims.

Main duties
Programme Support

Provide support across Causeway's broad portfolio of programmes, such as online mentoring, insight days, work experience weeks and university and employer outreach schemes

Organise programme-related events, such as workshops/webinars

Deliver online and in-person workshops to students and stakeholders, alongside other members of the Programmes Team

Look after our shared inboxes and share queries with relevant team members

Support the collection of information as part of programme reporting requirements

Support in the design and creation of new programme resources

Support other team members with management of external communications including the Causeway website, Twitter account and newsletters

Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement with Causeway’s programmes (for example, student 1-1 calls and emails)

This exciting Project Assistant role will work closely with the Programme Development Officer to support the development and delivery of Reclaiming Our Power. Reclaiming Our Power will explore the impact of racist microaggressions on mental health through creative peer support workshops with people with lived experience of racism, and will use learning to co-design and co-deliver learning opportunities to people working in the public and charity sectors delivering Glasgow’s services.
This project and role are funded with thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland.
What does the role involve?
- Organising events including creative peer support workshops, volunteer meetings, and training sessions
- Supporting the co-development and co-delivery of tailored training to people training/working in public-facing services

We are seeking 2 Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services.

You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a 3-year train the trainer pilot programme in the chosen pilot locations in England or Scotland.
The pilot will train and equip local health care professionals, health promotion workers and local community workers with the knowledge and resources to promote breast awareness, breast screening and risk reduction messages in their own communities.

Job title: Activity Coordinator
Salary: £28,000 - £31,500 per year
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Responsible to: Activity Service Manager
Based at: Elmwood Centre in Mitcham and various locations across Merton. This role requires the delivery of activities in person at our centre.
Contract: Permanent
Age UK Merton supports over 3,000 older people a year, our mission is to provide quality advice and services that meet the needs of older adults in Merton.

Key Result areas

Innovate, develop, and deliver a wide range of new and existing activities for service users.

Encourage clients to attend and participate in a range of activities

Welcome all clients who attend the activity centre and enable them to engage in activities.

Deputizing for the Activity Centre Manager.

Create and collate feedback from service users.

Identify and develop existing volunteer roles within the Activity Service.

Work collaboratively with other Age UK Merton Services and teams to provide help and advice to clients who are identified as needing additional support.

Building strong collaborative relationships with external partners who deliver exercise classes.
Organisation and Coordination of Activities

To organise the delivery of all activities and exercise classes in the centre.

To be actively involved in the ongoing development and design new activities held across the borough.

To support the planning and development of Age UK Merton’s quarterly activity guide to include all events at Age UK Merton.

To plan and coordinate the distribution of the activity guide across the borough.

To encourage the attendance of activities to new and existing clients.
Volunteers
-
Working with the Volunteer Service identify and develop roles and responsibilities of volunteers who support the Activity team.

To coordinate and organise the team of volunteers who support the Activity service.
Administrative Duties
-
Responsible for daily banking and reconciliation of cash for all activities.

Introduce new ways to pay for activities such as online bookings.

Take bookings for all activities and input details on to the CRM.
-
Answer telephone enquiries for the Activity centre.

Greet all clients and volunteers attending the Activity centre.
Data Capture, Evaluation and Reporting.

Respond to feedback and suggestions from clients to develop activities.

Keep records up to date on the CRM for attendees of all activities.

Working with the Activity Service Manager to expand the delivery of activities into areas of the borough not currently served.

Working with the Activity Manager to develop client feedback opportunities.

Support the Activity Manager to identify and write up case studies for funding applications.

Use the CRM to run reports to support funding bids and reporting.
General

Establish good working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and liaise as required Comply at all times with the policies and procedures of Age UK Merton.

Ensure that Age UK Merton’s Equal Opportunities policies, principles and practices are observed and implemented throughout service delivery.

Carry out any other relevant tasks as required, to ensure the effective development of the organisation and the delivery of its services, this may include supporting weekend and out of hours events for time off in lieu.

Attend staff meetings and personal supervision and appraisal meetings.

Be aware of own training needs and participate in training/education to improve performance considered relevant to the post and to achieve agreed targets.

Act as a representative of the values, beliefs and principles of AUKM at all times

Undertake any other duties that are requested and commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
