This role is based at the Charity Hub at Great Ormond Street Hospital for 5 days per week. There is no remote/hybrid working available for this role. 
You will be an employee of the Charity.

The salary for this position is £35,051  and is a 6 month fixed term contract.
 

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Executive – Volunteering and Operations, you will take on a varied role at the Charity Hub, including:

• Transforming the Charity Hub at the hospital into a vibrant and welcoming space. 
• Overseeing the recruitment, onboarding, training and daily management of Volunteers and Charity staff. 
• Ensuring that the Hub serves as a dynamic space, offering essential information for all and providing engaging activities for patients and families, so they can learn more about GOSH Charity.

This is the ideal role for someone who wants a role with impact and to make their mark on the Charity Hub. 
 

Some of the key goals this role is working towards include:
 

• Expanding the Hub’s opening hours. 
• Integrating the Hub into the hospital environment. 
• Developing a comprehensive activity calendar. 
• Building relationships with key hospital stakeholders.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Working under the guidance of the Peer Programme Manager, this post will continue the development of the project, recruiting and coordinating peers across Cardiff and The Vale of Glamorgan. Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services and homeless service providers, the post will coordinate delivery of awareness raising workshops, hepatitis C testing with a focus on local prisons and community criminal justice settings, ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care.

We are seeking an Impact and Evaluation Manager to work closely with our Head of Data and Impact and Senior Data and Impact Officer. A key part of the role will be helping develop further how we evaluate the impact of our programmes. You’ll also be responsible for producing reports for different audiences including external partners and staff members delivering the IntoUniversity programme in our centres, and supporting with the management of our Salesforce database. As part of a small team, you’ll be involved in impact projects and providing key data support from the start.

The main duties of the role

• To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.
• To lead the delivery of evaluations, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• To act as an impact expert for the charity, using data and impact reporting internally and externally to develop IntoUniversity’s strategic goals
• To play a key role in the formal data and impact reporting for the charity including the production of Impact Reports and annual university reports, and ensuring the impact microsite is kept up to date.
• To prepare reports on the performance of the charity, collating data and presenting it in clear formats for a variety of internal and external audiences including: staff delivering the programme; Regional Operations Managers; the charity’s Senior Leadership and Senior Management teams; Trustees; Donors; University partners.
• To develop and maintain expertise in research and evaluation methodologies
• To keep abreast of research and policy developments in relation to the higher education and charity sectors.
• To lead on developing and delivering Impact training for new and existing staff. 
• To support the management of IntoUniversity’s Salesforce database including the maintenance of database records, creation of new features, producing and analysing reports, supporting and training staff in itsuse, and reviewing the effectiveness of the database as a monitoring tool. Salesforce training will be provided.
• To support members of the delivery team with Salesforce queries and requests for data and analysis.
• To represent the charity at relevant conferences and events.

We are looking for a Corporate Performance and Reporting Manager in our Clerk of the Parliament’s Office at the House of Lords. Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing unique support to people with severe and enduring mental ill health. With over 50 years’ experience across Scotland, we believe people affected by poor mental health and illness deserve the highest quality of support in the community and that every person has the right to be valued and to share in the opportunities, challenges, and joys of everyday life. 

The Community Link Worker service collaborates with selected GP surgeries, supporting adults over the age of 18 through social prescribing. Referrals are received from the GP to our Community Link Workers when there might be a concern caused by social factors, rather than a medical problem. The service focuses on improving health outcomes for people experiencing stressors in their lives due to social problems, which could lead to poor mental health.

As a Community Link Worker, you will work directly with people referred to the Community Link Worker Service from their GP Practice who require immediate or on-going emotional, practical or vocational support in order to deliver the best possible health outcomes. 

This post works directly with people using the service to develop and review personal support plans. You will work closely with other members of the Community Link Worker team, colleagues in Primary Care and representatives of community-based groups and organisations, to achieve outcomes as defined by your line manager. 

Within the Community Link Worker team there is a clear line management structure which supports and shapes the practice. The post will contribute to an environment where people can improve their health outcomes, establish improved connections in their communities, and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

About you

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our HR team.  You will be responsible for providing specialist advice on the full spectrum of Employee Relations cases including absence, disciplinary investigations, grievance, performance management and organisational change, ensuring the delivery  of an exceptional and timely service to stakeholders.

The post-holder will be proactive in taking the initiative to identify and deliver solutions for improvements to service delivery and will engage and upskill stakeholders to improve management competences  to avoid litigation.

The Role 
 

The role of Shop Manager involves actively running our new shop in Hull and implementing processes and ways of working.

As our Shop Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operation of the shop including managing a Deputy Shop Manager and team of volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures.  
 

Specifically, you will: 

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Be responsible for ensuring the team are working towards achieving all key performance indicators. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be ideally educated to A Level or equivalent. 

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in charity sector or commercial sector is desirable.

About the Service

The Safe Haven service offers short-term support to clients. This service focuses on supporting episodes of emotional distress rather than providing ongoing support interventions. The service offers up to 3 support interventions, which can include the discussion of self-management tools and the creation of Wellness Action Plans. The Second Step Team also offers clients support with suicidal ideation, emotional distress, anxiety, depression, low mood, social isolation, and sleep hygiene.  We can offer additional support and signposting for issues such as housing, debt, health problems, drugs and alcohol use, substance misuse and unemployment. Follow up wellbeing checks can also be arranged to review a client’s psychological state after their return home.

About You

You’ll need to be a good communicator, with experience of supervising an effective team and liaising with partners, as well as the triaging and assessment of people being referred into a support service.

You will be working alongside Recovery Navigators, providing them with regular supervision, mentoring, guidance, and on-hand support.

You will be able to offer support and de-brief sessions to the team at the end of each shift and as required.

You’ll have experience of working with people with mental health and complex needs, carrying out needs and risks assessments. You will need to take a holistic view, with a recovery and psychologically informed approach.

You will have good organisational skills, be IT proficient and be able to direct and lead a small team.

You will need to have proven skills around managing risk and escalating referrals for clients who may require clinical support.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join SJA’s Bid Team, managing and producing tender responses across a variety of business areas including Commercial Training, First Aid and Health & Safety Supplies, Events, Urgent & Emergency Care, and other services. The role of the Bid Manager is to support the organisation in achieving revenue targets, business growth and strategic objectives through managing the Bid process and ensuring completion of high-quality tenders within the stipulated timeframes. About the Role 

Manage the Bid Management process, ensuring all bid documents meet deadlines and have undergone appropriate levels of scrutiny. You will need to feed the information into the Bid Writer in a timely and organised fashion and ensure all bids are of consistent high quality to meet the customer or commissioner’s expectations.

• You will also, where required, need to lead on writing, creating and preparing expressions of interest, prequalification questionnaires, ITT responses and standalone proposals and presentations working closely with operational/technical specialists within the organisation & ambulance operation to ensure excellence in quality, accuracy and presentation
• Lead on the creation and support bid presentations; including the preparation through to participation of delivery to key decision makers
• Maintain the Bid library working with functions and the operation to collate relevant, up to date supporting information for proposals, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility

Job purpose: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring all remedial maintenance is carried out within the YMCA Establishments, undertaking health & safety and caretaker tasks. Job description

Main Responsibilities:

 · To act as cover for Senior Maintenance Technician during their absence and undertake line management of maintenance team.

· To perform small repairs such as leaking taps, faulty door locks or jammed windows and general maintenance, including painting and decorating, to maintain and improve upon the standards of the facilities and equipment.

· To plan a schedule of routine checks and implement to ensure faults or damage in facilities and equipment are identified promptly and dealt with within agreed timetable.

· To assist in the preparation of vacant rooms for new residents at our housing establishments.

· Check the repairs database and attend to items listed reporting back to the Facilities Manager when completed.

· To maintain accurate records and logs of any repairs/ checks in accordance with Facilities Manager procedures to evidence work done and to inform future decision making.

· To attend to all remedial maintenance work as discussed with the Facilities Manager

· To liaise with external contractors/trades people  to ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard in accordance with YMCA East Surrey’s policies and procedures

· To be proactive in carrying out property inspections, identifying any issues of repairs or advisory works or recommendations for the general upkeep of our infrastructure.

· To be a responsible official with regard to fire emergency and evacuation procedures, testing and setting of smoke/heat detectors/emergency lighting/ fire extinguishers as required by legislation and record in fire log book

· To order supplies and equipment as authorised by the Facilities Manager

· To respond to occasional emergency call out where required.

· To ensure grounds and bin areas are neat and tidy and to assist in maintaining any garden tools/machinery

· To ensure the Facilities Manager is regularly and promptly informed of all relevant events, incidents and emergencies (or other appropriate manager in their absence)

· Attend Centre visits if required with the facilities manager to be fully aware of issues and expected resolutions.

· Support Apprentice workers if required.

· Complete low level groundwork tasks as directed. To include but not limited to, mowing, light weeding, strimming, leaf clearance, gritting.

· To carry out minor repairs, painting and decorating and carpet cleaning as required.

· To carry out minor repairs and maintenance of communal areas .

· To carry out minor plumbing repairs and maintenance.

· To assist with rubbish removal, moving furniture and equipment around the building or properties.

· To undertake inspection of appliances and to carry out such minor electrical repairs like replacing fuses and broken plugs and any such duties within the post-holders limits.

· To carry out external maintenance e.g. fence panels, bin store, metal pillars, gutters etc’.

· To work at other YMCA buildings and to carry out maintenance work as and when required and to attend with other contractors or tradesmen when necessary.

· To maintain vehicle standards and cleanliness and report faults in good time.

· To manage fuel cards.

· Complete recorded vehicle inspections and complete basic upkeep of vehicle such as oil, water, washer fluid etc.

· To care for your own health, safety and welfare as well as that of others and to work in a safe and effective manner at all times.

· To work harmoniously with the staff, members and visitors as well as contractors.

· To ensure high standards of service delivery through the consistent application of recognised standards and established policies, procedures and practices

· To ensure that all YMCA East Surrey’s policies and procedures are followed at all times

· To observe and promote the association’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion Policy and is maintained at all times in contact with members, staff, contractors, other professionals and members of the public in all aspects of the associations work.

· To work with volunteers as required assisting with developing their skills and knowledge

· To attend to any matters authorised and delegated by the Facilities Manager which are within the scope of the Maintenance worker and to carry out any other duties which may from time to time be required of the post holder.
