Praxis provides a safe space and support through immigration advice and support to access services such as housing and health. We run peer support groups that build social networks and confidence. Together with people with lived experience, Praxis campaigns for a compassionate and humane immigration system where no one is discriminated against based on their immigration status, race, or class.
Praxis has recently significantly scaled up its campaigns and communications work. We are looking for a new Stories and Media Coordinator to join our Fundraising and Communications team, to help ensure that people with lived experience of the immigration system are the driving force of our dynamic communications work, whilst also building the organisation’s profile and amplifying our systems-change work.
You will play an integral role in the Fundraising and Communications team in an ambitious organisation.
We are looking for the below skills and experience:
· Strong experience and understanding of working with experts by experience in communications, media and storytelling work, including excellent understanding of safeguarding and risk management;
· Significant experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of journalists;
· A sharp understanding of what makes a strong story;
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
· Ability to build relationships and rapport with a wide range of people.

Refugee Action exists to work with refugees and people seeking asylum who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes. We are a national charity with more than 40 years’ experience of empowering people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes to secure the protection and support that they need to live with dignity and respect and build a new life in the UK. We do this by providing expert advice and casework, building the capacity of partner organisations and campaigning on the policies that affect them.
The postholder will work in the Campaigns team to implement Refugee Action’s advocacy strategy which is central to our ability to influence change at all levels of government, across departments and other statutory stakeholders.
To succeed in the role you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience of developing and implementing effective public affairs strategies, including successfully identifying target lists and influencing political stakeholders.

The Social and Digital Media Officer plans, creates and publishes the charity’s social media and digital communications, ensuring accurate content and the right brand look, feel and messaging. Our small but high performing press team is looking for a Communications and Media Officer to help us raise the profile of paediatrics and child health across the UK and globally.
If you can write impactful press releases, commentary, and copy for online and print publication, we want to hear from you. In the press team you will manage media and social media opportunities, create content and will work collaboratively with policy and workforce managers, staff and our Senior Officers.
In the role you will horizon scan for key arising issues and provide support to preparing for and managing issues. Reporting to the Media Manager, you will also integrate media work with other activity in the organisation including public affairs, research, policy and campaigns.
Using your communication and report writing abilities, you will lead the collation of media coverage summaries following every report launch and campaign.

The NSPCC’s purpose is to prevent child abuse and neglect of children across the UK and Channel Islands. We have been fighting for childhood for the last 130 years and our organisational strategy for 2021-2031 is enabling the NSPCC to achieve greater change for children and inspiring others to join us in the fight for childhood.
Our services help children who’ve been abused, protect children at risk and find the best ways to prevent child abuse from ever happening. We work directly with children and families through our national and regional hubs across the UK and Channel Islands. We also give support to thousands of adults and young people in need through the NSPCC Helpline and Childline. We work with schools up and down the country through our Speak Out Stay Safe programme, helping children to keep themselves safe. And our projects such as Together for Childhood help children who’ve experienced abuse, support parents, and work to transform the way communities come together to prevent child cruelty.
Our local services support children and families throughout the UK and Channel Islands. We provide therapeutic services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children. We help professionals make the best decisions for children and young people, and support communities to help prevent abuse from happening in the first place
Job purpose
Responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the NSPCC’s sex and relationships education service ‘Talk Relationships’, in line with our strategy, to time and in budget.

Responsibilities
Strategic development and implementation

Develop and oversee an effective PR communications strategy, including business/trade press and public affairs (EU and UN advocacy), based on ProVeg’s strategic principles, impact areas and global interventions.

Working with volunteers is a crucial aspect of this role. Engaging with both online and offline volunteers, you will provide them with the tools and support they need to amplify our campaigns. By creating compelling campaign assets, such as emails, toolkits, and reports, you will help to ensure our message reaches a wide audience.
You will represent the Association in collaborations with external stakeholders, including coalitions, to further our campaigning goals. The Role
The purpose of the Project and Policy Officer role is to:
- Provide vital project management support to some of the large projects that National Voices runs, such as the Health and Wellbeing Alliance which connects the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector with government stakeholders.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
