The role of the Head of National Services is instrumental in ensuring that we provide innovative support to people affected by poor mental health and mental illness.

It will be responsible for working closely with our Policy and Communications Team around nationally funded projects by Scottish Government and will play a key role in the National Management Team of Change Mental Health. The role will work closely with the Director of Services to develop and work in partnership with a range of different stakeholders to increase the impact of our work and generate new opportunities for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

· Oversee the safe and efficient operational delivery practice and development of National Services, including our Advice and Support Service, Distress Brief Intervention services (DBI), Suicide Bereavement Services and other national projects 

· Lead, support and motivate your team to ensure high-quality and person-centred service delivery

· Provide strategic leadership for the services in your area and contribute to the strategic development of services nationally as a member of the National Management Team 

· Be an active member of the National Management Team and contribute to the implementation of Change Mental Health’s vision, mission, values and strategy 

Strategic planning and oversight 

· Provide strategic leadership for the services in your area and contribute to the strategic development of services nationally as a member of the National Management Team 

· Represent Change Mental Health appropriately at external meetings, including Programme Boards, round table events and Government meetings 

· Work closely with the Director of Services to implement and develop Change Mental Health’s services strategic vision 

· Scope and explore funding opportunities and support and develop funding applications and tender bids, as required, in partnership with the Fundraising Team and Tender Team 

· Plan, manage and implement change successfully

· Work with the Fundraising Team and Tender Team to develop an annual plan around fundraising, contracts and development of services

· Regularly source and organise opportunities to meet in person with key partners and stakeholders who can support and influence our work positively 

· Represent the organisation professionally when communicating with external stakeholders and protect and enhance the organisations reputation

· Develop an annual strategic plan for your area which clearly demonstrates how the operational work being delivered aligns with the organisation’s strategy 

· Communicate strategic messages and decisions with your team and competently manage and respond to questions and queries around these 

· Lead on all monitoring and reporting for your area of work, including setting and monitoring KPIs across all of your teams and projects 

Operational service delivery and development 

· Ensure National Services are delivered to the highest standard with high levels of satisfaction from the people we support 

· Responsible for overseeing the safe operational delivery of services in your area of work and managing quality assurance around these 

· Responsible for developing and maintaining safe working processes, procedures and practices in my area of work, including overseeing some services which may be registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FSA), Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers (SNSIAP), Care Inspectorate or other regulatory bodies

· Oversee safe and inclusive recruitment practices in my area for both staff and volunteers 

· Responsible for overseeing the implementation of appropriate tools and systems within your team to assess, measure and monitor outcomes and impact of services

· Oversee and manage all contracts and service delivery to ensure the team delivers high quality and safe services, in line with our partners expected outcomes and expectations 

· Provide visible onsite leadership to our staff by being based at and regularly visiting Change Mental Health’s services/ offices 

· Support the operational delivery of services, including providing guidance and support for frontline staff, where required 

· Proactively seek opportunities to develop services in your area through networking and taking advantage of the local/ national landscape, to expand the scope and reach of Change Mental Health 

· Encourage and promote the voice of lived experience in the development of services and support in your area and across the organisation 

· Lead on supporting staff with safeguarding and adult protection concerns/ referrals in your area and give guidance, support and direction to colleagues as needed 

· Responsible for ensuring appropriate health and safety processes are in place and adhered to in your area, including risk assessments, lone working procedures, safeguarding and adult protection

· Have delegated responsibility to set, manage and monitor budgets for my area 

· Lead your team to establish person-centred development plans for those accessing Change Mental Health support which focuses on recovery and include various assessment models, including a robust approach to risk assessment 

· Produce reports and information as required by the Senior Leadership Team, funders or other stakeholders, as required 

Leadership 

· Lead on key specific themes of work/ projects as a member of the National Management Team

· Lead and support HR processes as a member of the National Management Team, including chairing and supporting disciplinaries, grievances and appeal hearings 

· Role model positive behaviours and communicate clearly key organisational messages to the wider team 

· Make decisions and give direction to your team which protect the interests of the organisation 

· Communicate effectively with other members of the National Management Team and provide appropriate challenge 

· Contribute to the development of best practice, quality and improvement within services 

· Lead on specific projects/ working groups as required

· Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in the light of the main purpose of the job 

Line management 

· Coach, support and provide constructive feedback to your team to ensure they are clear about what the organisation needs and expects from them in their role 

· Manage and oversee HR issues as they arise in the team, and seek advice from the HR Team as appropriate to mitigate organisational risk and ensure supportive working practices and an inclusive culture are in place 

· Communicate regularly with your team, in person, and be a visible member of NMT who listens to staff, provides clarity on decision-making and delivers key organisational messages 

· Build a positive and supportive culture within your teams which represents the values of Change Mental Health 

· Ensure that your team are keeping up-to-date records in the appropriate systems and ensure they are adhering to GDPR and other organisational processes and policies

· Provide regular, in person, support and supervision sessions to those you line manage

· Encourage, promote and facilitate reflective practice throughout your area of work 

· Plan and set objectives for your team members and monitor the progress of these to ensure staff are supported to achieve these 

· Build a positive, inclusive and high performing team culture and team dynamics by ensuring regular in person meetings and social events take place to support and encourage this 

Financial and line management responsibilities

· Set, manage and oversee local budgets in consultation with the Director of Services and Head of Finance 

· Ensure local value for money in delivering high-quality services

· Build relationships with stake holders to successfully facilitate budget conversations 

· Line manage staff, as required, to ensure the successful delivery of services across Scotland

Other

· Includes some evening and weekend working where required, time off in lieu will be given in accordance with Change Mental Health’s TOIL policy

· A satisfactory PVG will be required 

· Being part of an on-call rota to support staff, as and when required

General Duties  

· Act in accordance with Data Protection legislation.  Ensure all records, personal, staff and client data are managed in line with Data Management and Information Governance policies 

· Comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as provisions set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Essential Criteria:

· Educated to a degree level or equivalent or have relevant experience of working in health and social care at a senior level 

· Hold the appropriate qualifications to be a Registered Manager with the Care Inspectorate, or a willingness to work towards obtaining the appropriate qualifications 

· Passionate about improving the outcomes for people affected by their mental health 

· Demonstratable experience of operationally leading, managing and developing services and line managing staff 

· Evidence of being able to use own initiative and make competent decisions using sound judgement 

· Evidence of problem solving effectively and supporting others to work through complex and difficult situations 

· Experience of successfully leading, managing and supporting a team, keeping them engaged and motivated 

· Ability to innovate, looking to constantly improve what we do and how we can clearly evidence our impact 

· Evidence of being a flexible and strong communicator who builds positive relationships, both internally and externally, and has advanced networking skills 

· Ability to work comfortably with the detail of strong operational service delivery and balancing this with working strategically 

· Evidence of being a reflective practitioner; being comfortable and open to receiving and acting on feedback to improve practice 

· Knowledge and experience of following safeguarding processes and procedures and guiding and supporting others with safeguarding and adult protection concerns

· IT literate, able to maintain and develop effective administration and information management systems 

· Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to manage a high-volume workload with deadlines and manage conflicting priorities 

· Willingness to travel throughout different parts of Scotland, including national office

Overall purpose

Your primary responsibility will be to lead Breaking Barriers’ employment programme in Birmingham and the West Midlands, and support the Senior Employment Services Manager and Director of Services in ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency in the support we provide to clients.  

Working closely with the Senior Employment Services Manager, you will take ownership of delivery within this region and lead on the delivery of the contract, including maintaining effective external stakeholder relationships and providing accurate and timely reporting. You will line manage and support a team of Employment Advisers (“Advisers”), enabling them to provide high-quality support to clients and coordinate the day-to-day operational activity which keeps our programmes running.

You are a highly organised and effective worker who knows when to adopt a creative approach and when to follow the established process. You will have an empathetic manner, be willing to go the extra mile to support clients and be proactive in looking for ways to improve our service. Lived experience would be helpful but is not essential.  

In addition to exceptional people skills, you will be a strong communicator and possess meticulous attention to detail. You will be confident working autonomously, helped by excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and cope with interruptions.

You should have at a demonstrable track record of transferrable work experience in coordinating service delivery, projects or programmes, or another relevant field. Equally important is a demonstrable commitment to working with marginalised populations who face barriers to employment, particularly refugees. A strong interest in employability support and experience delivering employment programmes or careers advice would be a strong advantage.

Overall purpose

The Philanthropy Manager will manage and steward a portfolio of funders and donors – across trusts and foundations, statutory sources and major donors – to secure annual and multi-year gifts in support of Breaking Barriers’ vision. As well as managing relationships with our existing donors there will be a focus on creating new relationships through proactive prospecting and developing a long-term strategic approach to stewardship and relationship development.

You will be an ambitious, enthusiastic, energetic, and autonomous fundraiser with a demonstrable passion for supporting people from a refugee background. You will have a strong track record of high-value relationship management and fundraising, ideally specialising in Trusts, Statutory, Major Donor fundraising or a related area. We are looking for someone who can successfully secure and steward gifts of 5 figures and above – so evidence of stewarding high-value relationships and high-quality written skills are key. You will collaborate with additional fundraisers across Trusts, Statutory, Corporate and Major Gifts to coordinate approaches and maximise opportunities across all functions.

We welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills from other sectors and other areas of fundraising but a strong knowledge of the fundamentals of grant fundraising is essential. We are looking for a passionate individual who can get people excited about the work we do and who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals from a refugee background. About the role:

Working as a Senior Keyworker you will be responsible for supervising a small group of keyworkers, planned and ad-hoc supervision is an integral part of the Senior role, and you will be supporting keyworkers with monthly supervision and have oversight of safeguarding for the women they work with. You will be supporting the quality control for the region which will include dip-checks and data input.

We are seeking an experienced candidate with a great understanding and knowledge of individual giving, who shows great leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities to achieve organisational growth.

The role will manage the Donor Acquisition Fundraiser and In-Memory Fundraiser and be responsible for the overall delivery of our individual giving strategy.

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of our individual giving programme of fundraising and activities, aimed at individuals. It will be the Individual Giving Manager’s responsibility to generate significant income through individual gifts, campaigns and appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving, lottery and legacies, and to increase activity and income from these sources.

Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and creative appeals as well as supporting the fundraisers responsible for in-memory and donor acquisition to achieve their targets and objectives.

Individual Giving is a growing income stream for Birmingham Hospice, and this have been recognised by the Executive Team who are investing in this area, in particular regular giving and legacies.

Your role

We are seeking a Senior Fundraising Leader to secure funding from diverse sources to support our program and initiatives. The ideal candidate has senior-level fundraising experience at an NGO, organisation, or charity, a strong and established network of executive relationships in major foundations, and a proven track record of identifying and closing deals in the range of 1-5 million USD. The fundraising leader will develop relationships with potential donors, identify fundraising opportunities, and manage the grant application process.

We seek someone who aligns with the DfG mission, has a passion for fundraising and can strategise and deliver new initiatives. The fundraiser will collaborate with program staff, and senior management to develop leads, compelling proposals and reports. The working environment is informal, team-oriented, and encourages individual input and development. Thereby supporting the execution of DfG’s impact driven program to improve life through design. This position reports to the Managing Director of Design for Good.

Key Responsibilities

· Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with current and prospective donors, program officers, and key stakeholders, serving as the main point of contact for grant inquiries, reporting, and communications. 

· Research: Identify and explore funding opportunities from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other potential donors whose interests align with our programs. Regularly monitor donor databases and other sources for announcements and opportunities.

About the Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP)

The Brent Centre for Young People is the leading mental health charity for young people in Northwest London, helping over 700 young people a year with a wide range of issues. We offer specialised treatment in the areas of depression, suicide prevention, tackling self-harm, eating disorders, exam anxiety and more. Our approach is rooted in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We aim to reach significantly more young people in the years ahead, drawing on our heritage that combines specialist treatment in-house and outreach into communities. The Brent Centre is also an important Research Centre on Adolescent Breakdown and Adolescent Psychotherapy.

Fundraising at BCYP

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant- makers. We work hard to ensure that we submit excellent, data-driven applications and evaluations. Until now, applications have largely been submitted by our Fundraising Manager- Trusts & Foundations, with occasional support from a freelance bid-writer. We now want to recruit a new member of the team, to help us to grow our income stream in this area and help us to steward these key relationships.

In this exciting newly created role, you will be responsible for helping to grow our income from grant- makers to design and promote funding opportunities, and to steward relationships with supporters through the giving cycle. We are looking for a fundraiser with at least three to four years of experience in identifying prospects and grant-writing, and who has experienced success in securing funds. Vitally, we want to recruit an individual who is as committed to Brent’s vision, and who will work with us to help us be there for young people in the coming years.

Tender works with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. We enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have identified core audiences we are seeking to engage more proactively and more consistently to both spread the message of our work and to influence public policy and statutory commissioning decisions. We are now looking for a Communications Manager to drive this work and establish our position as an influential, informed and powerful voice for change.

You will work closely with the Development Director to develop and implement a cross-organisational communications strategy to maximise our reach and brand awareness amongst core audiences, leading in turn to increased funding and an impact on statutory and policy approaches to preventing VAWG. You will line manage our Senior Communications Coordinator and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team (SLT), who lead on our policy and influencing work. You will also support the Development team to better engage current and potential supporters and funders.

Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.

The main purposes of the Communications Manager role are:

• Developing, leading and implementing Tender’s communications strategy, focusing on supporting our fundraising and building engagement with key audiences
• Accountability for Tender’s organisational profile, building profile and engagement through content creation with key strategic audiences, including the website, social media, and print and online marketing materials
• Accountability for the development and management of Tender’s own media channels, ensuring a consistent user experience and organisational voice

 Required knowledge and experience

• Knowledge of audience segmentation and personalisation and of optimising CRMs to improve supporter journeys

• Experience in leading or supporting the development of communications strategies and operational plans

• Demonstrable experience working in a communications or campaigning role

• Creating high quality content across various channels (blogs, social media posts, website landing pages, marketing materials, newsletters, case studies etc)

• Writing engaging copy for different audiences and objectives, such as fundraising campaigns, internal communications and corporate engagement

We put our patients, families and all who benefit from our services at the heart of what we do and strive to build lasting, value-driven relationships with our supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Individual Giving Manager, a new role which will grow our income from Individual Giving (including donations, appeals, regular giving, gift aid, in-memory giving and legacies/gifts in wills), across a range of in-person, print and digital channels and campaigns.

The successful candidate will lead and develop the individual giving and legacy team to deliver on specific income targets through a range of activities and develop our Gifts in Wills and In Memory giving opportunities as well as our Mid-and High Level Giving Programmes.
