Would you like to support Blood Cancer UK to identify, research and secure high value corporate partnerships that will help beat blood cancer? Then this role is for you.
Now is an exciting time to join the corporate partnerships team at Blood Cancer UK. We have spent the last two years building and cultivating our pipeline and have seen exciting wins as a result of this work, raising over £5million from the insurance sector.
We have seen record breaking corporate partnerships income in the last two years and we want that growth to continue – but we know there are more opportunities than we can capitalise on with our team the size that it is. The fundraising team has ambitious targets over the next 3 – 5 years, and we won’t reach them if we’re leaving potential partnerships behind.
We’re looking for an ambitious and tenacious new business fundraiser to help us bring new partnerships to the charity, and ultimately raise more money to deliver the change we want to see for people with blood cancer.
You will be an effective fundraiser; someone who can build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and is naturally entrepreneurial. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our agile working policy allows this role to be home based or office based, with travel into London for team meetings and donor meetings.
We research, we support, we care. Because it’s time to beat leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and all types of blood cancer.

Do you want to help build a world where everyone feels part of a community?
Do you drive reliable delivery and ongoing improvement of programmes?
Are you a strong and highly motivated team leader?
If you answered yes to all of the above, this could be the role for you! We’re looking for an experienced part-time programme manager to develop the delivery of key projects: our community & children’s offer; intergenerational initiatives; events and communications; and corporate partnerships
What we do
Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Since resuming services post-Covid, we have realized the needs and wants of the community have shifted from our previous offer. We have a strong Community Development programme to connect with and rebuild our offer, including some big changes to pre-Covid ways of working. Building on a strong track record, we intend to continue working with the community to deliver activities and events that meet local needs while also providing opportunities for fun and friendship. Our community offer includes activities connecting children to nature and tackling food insecurity; accessible community fitness and wellbeing activities; and intergenerational activities and events. We are re-developing our offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely. We are looking for a fresh pair of eyes to help us evolve this work.
The role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations
• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team
• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these
• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders
• Lead role in planning and execution of community events
• Development of corporate partnerships and CSR relationships
• Responsibility for general outward communications, including social media
• Contributing to the wider organisation as a member of the Senior Management Team
• Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead
About you
You have a track record of developing and delivering excellent community programmes in the third sector. You’re a seasoned team leader with experience of change management. You have an outwardlooking approach and are passionate about building programmes with community buy-in. You’re flexible, accountable, take responsibility, are highly organised and skilled in multitasking and balancing priorities. You have experience of fundraising and maybe other types of income generation. You have strong relationship building skills – internally and externally - and build trust and credibility easily. You are passionate about the power of community to connect and support people.
About us
We are an energetic, experienced, and passionate team of 17 mostly part-time workers with a strong sense of shared purpose and a lively sense of humour. You’ll have the chance to make a big contribution to a strong and innovative organisation which has doubled its reach and impact in recent years. This role is four days per week, with flexibility for regular evening and occasional weekend working. Time & Talents is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity, and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person that they are. We actively encourage applications from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.

Who are Guts UK Charity?
People are suffering. People are dying. All because of a lack of knowledge about our guts.
Guts UK is the only charity that covers all of the digestive system, from ‘top to tail’ covering the gut, the liver and the pancreas. Guts UK works actively and collaboratively with other charities. However, with our own limited resources, we choose to focus particularly on the conditions that have no other specific charity or voice - those illnesses that really are underserved such as pancreatitis, diverticular disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), childhood gut and liver disease and digestive cancers.
Our vision is a world where digestive disorders are better understood, better treated and everyone who lives with one gets the support that they need.
Overall Purpose of the Head of Research
- To lead the delivery of the charity’s strategic research aims including managing and further developing Guts UK’s grants programme, managing our small research team, working with research partners and networks to raise awareness of our work and outcomes, further develop impact, and continue to develop and embed patient and public involvement (PPI) in our research.
- To drive new initiatives and develop and deliver tactical plans for the Research team which meet our strategic objectives.
- As a member of the charity’s senior leadership team, to contribute to the leadership, planning and delivery of strategic initiatives and the wider development of the charity.
Who we’re looking for?
As a small but growing national charity, we punch above our weight including our research programme where we invest directly and in partnership with other organisations. We are looking for an experienced healthcare research manager who is looking to take their next career step including a move to senior leadership role. With the support of our CEO, SLT, and the Board Research Strategy Committee, you will take ownership of this portfolio, further develop and successfully delivery research strategy, and develop our research investment and impact.
We currently have a small Research team, so while this role requires strategic thinking and leadership, similar to charities of our size you will need to be someone who relishes multi-tasking and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up to things done. In the long term we are targeting significant growth in our research portfolio, and therefore our team, and so the role will develop and evolve.
So, if you know the medical research landscape, are experienced in research grants management, enjoy working with others and building professional partnerships, have a passion for patient voices and don’t mind getting stuck in – this role could be just what you’re looking for.
Location
We have offices in London and Huddersfield which are easily accessible by road orpublic transport. We support hybrid working but attendance in one of the offices [dependent on your location] is required on an average of 2 days per week. If you are interested in the role but have queries about office-base requirements, please contactus to discuss.
Please see the attached detail job pack for further information and how to apply.
Our vision is of a world where digestive disorders are better understood, better treated and everyone who lives with one gets the support they need
