We are seeking an experienced social worker to take the role of Practice Lead and play an essential role within a charity dedicated to supporting young people leaving care. 

The charity provides support and expertise to local authorities around the country to set up and manage Local House Projects (LHPs) so that young people leave care in a planned and supported way. 

About the Role:

As Practice Lead you will have primary responsibility for supporting LHPs in The Midlands but will also be involved in other areas of work. You will support staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people transition to adulthood in a positive and supported way. You will work with the Care Leavers National Movement as well as the core team to ensure that young people continue to drive their own LHP and develop practice at both a local and national level.

About the organisation:

The charity was established in August 2018 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), they support local authorities in setting up Local House Projects for young people leaving care. Believing every care leaver should have this option, the charity empowers them to create and sustain homes.

The initiative, co-designed with young people, began by asking, "What makes a house a home?” Local House Projects in England and Scotland help care leavers transition into permanent tenancies, fostering a supportive community. The charity has helped over 450 young people successfully move into their own homes, with no evictions or tenancy breakdowns, ensuring a secure start for their futures.

This role has become available due to growth of the charity.

About the role: 

The successful applicant will work alongside our Trustees, our CEO and our existing Head of Fundraising and Communications in a jobshare to meet challenging fundraising targets. You will be joining us at an exciting time of development, as we open at our third site in Islington, welcome new members of staff to our team and begin work on a new strategy for 2025-2028. We have a strong track record of grant fundraising and seek someone who can support us to diversify our income, develop a fundraising strategy with a variety of income streams and bring experience and ideas to raise our profile. The Head of Programmes is a critical role for the organisation, responsible for ensuring DEC funded programmes meet programmatic standards, are fully traceable, routinely monitored and comply with organisational procedures and institutional donors’ requirements. Communication and Collaboration

Analysis and Reporting

• Deliver and contribute to timely and high-quality infographics, reports and briefings for key stakeholders and institutional donors including Board of Trustees, FCDO and BBC.

• Continuously develop, improve and manage DEC’s Knowledge Information Management systems (KIM), as user-friendly collaborating platforms that enhance learning and enable data analysis, visualisation and high-quality reporting.
• Collect, analyse and present accurate and timely data to help inform a rapid assessment of appeal Criteria 2 for both rapid onset and evolving protracted crises and contribute to the development of the Case for Appeal.

 Management and Leadership

Purpose of this role YMCA Thames Gateway offers support and accommodation to young people in need and children in care. The service aims to help young people develop the skills and knowledge to be able to live independently and improve their life chances. Duchenne UK is an ambitious, dynamic and impactful charity. Following their sons’ diagnosis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), Emily Reuben and Alex Johnson founded Duchenne UK in 2012. 

DMD is a devastating progressive condition diagnosed in early childhood which causes all the muscles in the body to gradually weaken. There are currently only very limited treatment options for DMD, so Emily and Alex set up Duchenne UK to change this.

Income Generation

• Aligned to the organisational strategy, designing and delivering Duchenne UK’s income generation strategy, establishing a delivery plan to hit targets across a diverse range of income streams, including community fundraising, events, trusts and foundations, major donors, research and development grants and commercial income.
• Oversee the process and systems of managing funders and new business opportunities, including overseeing the charity’s CRM system (Salesforce) to support a high end and holistic approach to the account management of funders and stakeholders.
• Set, monitor and deliver annual income and expenditure targets.
• Attend meetings with funders and prospects, and networking events to uncover new opportunities, including management of Duchenne UK’s Development Board.
• Developing and growing the income pipeline, working closely with the Research and Development team to identify funding for existing and pipeline projects.
• Support the team to develop professional and engaging materials including fundraising proposition, applications, proposals, appeals, pitches and reports.
• Proactively seek-out and identify new trends and developments and make recommendations to Duchenne UK.

The appointment is subject to satisfactory references and an initial six-month period of probation, during which performance will be regularly reviewed.

Relevant training will be provided during induction as well as opportunities to develop your career through experience of different aspects of the Foundation’s work and working with colleagues on new initiatives.

The organisation’s hybrid working policy is at the discretion of the line manager during the first three months of employment, to support the induction process.

BPAS is an independent healthcare charity that has been advocating and caring for women and couples for over 55 years, supporting over 100,000 women annually across more than 50 healthcare clinics nationwide.

Following significant organisational change and the establishment of a new Executive Leadership structure, we are looking for a Deputy Chief Medical Officer to join the Senior Operational Team.

As the Deputy Chief Medical Officer at BPAS, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of our clinical services. You will provide professional leadership to BPAS medical workforce and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Your responsibilities will include leading clinical governance initiatives, managing professional standards, and supporting the development of clinical strategies. You will also act as the Responsible Officer for BPAS, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and leading on medical workforce strategy and succession planning.

You will be expected to maintain a visible presence, offering expert guidance on clinical matters to the BPAS Board, driving improvements, and ensuring that all services are informed by evidence and best practice.

About the Role

This role will play an active part in driving forward our exciting fundraising campaigns, events and community relationships.  This involves a wide-range of tasks which will vary day by day, from helping at on-site events to the distribution of marketing materials, and from taking minutes to building good relationships with local supporters (including schools and universities, local groups and businesses, community champions and participants in challenge events).

We’re looking for someone who has a passion for great event experiences and customer service, is proactive and organised, adaptable, collaborative and solutions focussed.

We are a charity and social business providing homes, jobs, food, and support to empower people to transform their own lives.  We challenge the status quo by pioneering solutions that create lasting change.

Job Purpose

Support the Fundraising Manager in the successful delivery of fundraising activities in line with Bipolar Scotland’s ambitious strategy and business plan.

Summary

The Fundraising Officer will play an integral part in the success of our small but vibrant national charity by maximising income from Corporate and Community based stakeholders. The post holder will focus primarily on developing corporate engagement, sponsorship and donations, but will also grow our Community fundraising arm and support the work of other income streams. The Fundraising Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans in support of the organisation’s strategic aim to Grow & Improve. The Fundraising Officer will achieve agreed financial targets and collaborate with colleagues and external partners as required.

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

• To proactively support the Fundraising Manager in developing and delivering a robust and ambitious fundraising strategy.
• Be an enthusiastic and professional first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries.
• Proactively research and explore new opportunities and partnerships for corporate and community support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of corporate and community fundraising opportunities.
• Steward relationships with corporate funders and community fundraisers, encouraging them to become long term supporters of Bipolar Scotland.
• Maintain accurate mailing lists and other doner care records to ensure they are up to date with valid GDPR consent.
• Attend corporate and community events and cheque presentations and confidently prepare and deliver presentations/talks as required.
• Develop high quality and effective fundraising materials and products in line with organisational guidelines.
• Meet agreed fundraising targets and KPI’s and contribute towards the delivery of team KPI’s.
• Produce fundraising reports for senior management and our Board of Trustees.
• Manage existing volunteers, and the recruitment, training, and induction of new volunteers.
• Support the wider work of Fundraising and Marketing.
• Any other related duties requested by the Fundraising Manager.

Experience Required

• Working in a fundraising role either in a voluntary or paid capacity.
• Securing and managing corporate partnerships.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships.
• Working collaboratively across different teams within an organisation.
• Experience of supporting volunteers.
• Maintaining fundraising databases and keeping accurate records.
• Managing budgets and producing financial reports for internal and external audiences.
• Experience in having met/exceeded financial targets and KPI’s.
• Proven record of delivery within a high-performance, high-pressure environment.
