Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide (However, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (it will include team meetings to London and Birmingham)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (flexible working available)

Salary: Circa £30,700 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance with where you live)

Contract: This is maternity cover until 31 December 2025

You will:

· Write clear, transparent and accessible messages for different audiences to help staff and volunteers get what they need while volunteering or at work.

· Be an expert in using our network of internal communication channels (including Viva Engage, Teams, Zoom, DotDigital and an intranet) encouraging staff and volunteers to connect with, and feel connected to, the charity, our strategy, and our work.

· Respond to general queries such as technical fixes, proofreading, improving channels, pulling reports, while working at pace.

· Collaborate and coach others to understand the real problem or opportunities to help them achieve their communication goals.

About You

You’ll have:

· Experience working in an internal or external communications team.

· Experience using a wide range of internal communications channels to engage a large/multi-team and remote working workforce.

· Excellent writing skills, using audience understanding and insight to craft messages.

· The ability to develop, design and execute an internal communications plan to meet people’s needs.

· An understanding of workplace culture, experience and communication principles.

· An understanding of coaching techniques to help others find solutions.

The organisation

Every year in the UK, around 100 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that mostly affects children under five. Neuroblastoma UK is a small national charity dedicated to finding a cure for this life-threatening disease - and is seeking a talented Senior Fundraising Officer to help us raise vital funds. 

For 40 years, we’ve funded leading research to develop new, more effective and kinder treatments for children with neuroblastoma. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time for the charity as look to fund further research projects to help fight childhood cancer and save more young lives, and build our profile across the national media and social media channels, using the support of our celebrity patrons and families. 

The role

The Senior Fundraising Officer is responsible for managing our portfolio of events and liaising with our community fundraisers to maximise their fundraising, as well as managing our individual supporters and managing fundraising admin across multiple areas. A key part of the role is ensuring our fundraising is compliant and developing strong relationships with our fundraisers. 

The charity has a small team so everyone helps with thanking and banking, database management and administrative tasks and this role gives you the opportunity to have lots of autonomy and creative freedom in developing our fundraising.

Currently, this role reports to a committed Board of Trustees, many of whom have a personal connection to the cause.

As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. 'Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System' will support local peacebuilders in Mali, Afghanistan, Sudan and eastern DRC to increase prospects for sustainable peace.

Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.

This role is responsible for developing and managing partnerships within the four countries, with initial emphasis on Mali. You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.

As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand.  This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.

We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community.  It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications.  You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.

The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.

• Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
• Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
• ​​External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.

Launched in March 2021, the ARC was introduced to actively counter, disrupt and oppose racial injustice. The role will focus on promotion, engagement, training, resources, research, and data monitoring, while addressing the needs of the wider Diocese and parishes.

Key responsibilities

• Advocate for racial justice within Diocesan structures, by promoting best practices in diversity, inclusion, and belonging with a biblical foundation.
• Provide support and advice to parishes, deaneries and clergy on implementing the Anti-Racism Charter and developing culturally appropriate worship and faith practices.
• Collaborate with parishes, schools and Area Racial Justice Groups to share experiences, support meetings, and coordinate events related to racial justice.
• Collect, analyse and report data on racial injustice, ensuring alignment with Diocesan and National Church Requirements, while staying informed on relevant trends.

About the role

The Donor Relations Officer is a key role within the Development Office at the University of London. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a best practice programme of stewardship, donor engagement and recognition for the University of London’s donors, ensuring sustainability and growth of the donor base. This work involves creating a rewarding donor experience and managing donor communications, organising high-level donor stewardship activities and coordinating fundraising activities to support the mission and goals of the University.

Who are we looking for?

You will come experienced in delivering a successful programme of stewardship, in the charity or higher education sectors, and a working knowledge and experience of handling confidential information. We need someone with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with high profile individuals, and thus excellent communication skills in terms of written and spoken English is needed. You will have excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to work closely and collegiately with colleagues as part of a team and across a wider organisation. Experience of building and managing mutually beneficial partnerships and networks, both internally and externally, to create opportunities for the University, is also sought. As is an ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels, demonstrating discretion and tact.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Background to the Role

Do you have helpline or call centre experience?  Are you good at communicating on the telephone?  Do you enjoy helping people to find information and solutions to challenges?  Are you approachable and a good communicator? We need you to join our high volume, friendly helpline team of staff and volunteers, answering calls and providing information and support to older people in Croydon.

Our helpline is a first point of contact for many older people and their families and carers as they tackle a variety of issues around finance, social engagement, housing and council tax, travel concessions such as Blue Badge and Taxi card.  You will play a crucial role in answering our busy Information & Advice Helpline phone: listening carefully and sympathetically to callers, finding solutions to their queries or issues and. The role is varied and very rewarding, and no two days are the same.

• Providing information and signposting to callers to our Helpline and to people enquiring by email
• Entering new client referrals on our database and recording each new enquiry on our systems
• Supporting and supervising volunteers within the I&A Team

RJ4All is looking for an innovative UK Operations Director who will drive impactful social justice projects and community initiatives while fostering strategic growth and income generation. You will oversee our dynamic UK-based operations out of the Rotherhithe Community Centre, work closely with the Director, and lead our Centre-based team. 

Restorative Justice for All (RJ4All) is a charitable, user-led international institute with expertise in preventing and addressing harm at the individual, community and inter-state levels. We are one of the world’s leading experts in transferring complex criminological and social justice concepts into practice through real-life pilots and community projects. 

The UK Operations Director will lead on the delivery, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of RJ4All’s UK-based services, and especially those run from the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre. It is expected that they will generate income for the UK operations and contribute to new ideas for UK-based projects that fall within RJ4All’s agreed strategy. Finally, the post holder will act in place of the Director when they are unavailable or for any other agreed reason.

This post requires leadership and strong ethical commitment to RJ4All’s core values and vision, independence balanced against organisational priorities and focus. To this end, the postholder is expected to have excellent communication with the Director, and be able to participate in complex, high level discussions with the non-executive directors and other stakeholders about the future of RJ4All. Initiative, loyalty, and innovation are attributes that are highly valued at RJ4All. 

Key Tasks 

• Lead on the management of RJ4All’s UK Operations especially those run from the Rotherhithe Community Centre, ensuring its facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards. 

• To line manage the Community Project Coordinators and Officers, the Fitness team, administrators, finance support staff, interns and volunteers. 

• To lead on drafting applications for funding from government, trusts and foundations, donors and sponsors for UK programmes and services. 

• To lead on managing and delivering of all services running out of the Community Centre including the RJ4All Sports branch, Community Gym, YouthClubs+, Foodbank, and Community Library 

• To lead on creating and monitoring the UK Operations’ Theory of Change on annual basis, and review it against available data and individual projects’ Theory of Change. 

Qualifications 

Essential 

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a relevant field such as equalities or crime prevention 

• Experience in non-profit, CIC, or small business environment

• Experience in managing paid and volunteering personnel

• Demonstrated experience in fundraising 

• Experience in writing and monitoring budgets 

• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to contribute to decision-making and planning 

• Willingness to learn and develop as a leader, inspire others and self, motivate and set own priorities 

Desirable 

• Master's Degree in Social Sciences or related 

• Certified trainings in restorative justice and other relevant areas 

• Knowledge of the HMRC and UK tax regulations and best practices
