This is an exciting time for the Philanthropy and Partnerships team as we develop a rich and evolving portfolio of strategic projects that will appeal to a wide range of funders. As the Trusts and Statutory Officer, you'll play a crucial role in driving fundraising for our new strategic focus on key priorities identified by people living with diabetes. You'll be responsible for bringing in income of circa £200,000 for the Trusts and Statutory team from a high-volume portfolio, with a view to increasing its value year on year.

Main Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the small trusts portfolio to maximise income generation (circa 200k), submitting bids under £20k and stewarding funders. You'll work closely with the Partnership Manager and the Prospect Research and Data Officer to identify funders and submit compelling proposals that accurately reflect both funder criteria and organisational funding priorities.
You'll work with colleagues across the charity to ensure grant conditions are met and deliver excellent stewardship practices.
Ideal Candidate
You'll be a highly organised individual, with experience of managing and delivering a high-volume trust portfolio.
You'll have excellent communication skills and will be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. Your naturally collaborative approach to team working is balanced by accountability and a proactive, independent attitude.

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a creative and ambitious Fundraising and Communications Officer.
As our reach and impact has increased significantly in recent years, so has our income, and this new role has been created in response to that demand. This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser who wants to widen, or consolidate, their knowledge and experience of fundraising, in an international context, as well as gain communications experience.
We are a very small team so the role will cover a breadth of funding streams, with a particular focus on Trusts and Foundations, High Value Donors, and Events, both special and community. It is therefore important that you have excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and solid experience of crafting successful funding applications. You will also need excellent planning and organisational skills.
The role can, to some extent, be shaped by the skills and experience of the successful candidate, but it is likely to include the following responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Steward, retain and grow the support of our existing donor portfolio: KHULA has an existing portfolio of donors including trusts, foundations, corporates, major donors, individual and regular givers, the majority of whom are based in the UK or South Africa. Alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, the post holder will be responsible for managing these relationships, including bespoke reporting for trusts and major donors and taking responsibility for their own portfolio of donors.
- Donor prospecting and new business: researching and generating new donor leads as well as acting on opportunities provided by our Board and others, converting prospects into supporters of our programmes.
- External communications: working alongside the Director of Fundraising and Communications, assisting in the creation of our quarterly e-newsletter and the Annual Report, managing our social media channels, in addition to other ad hoc external communications.
- Events: supporting our community and events fundraisers and assisting with the organisation of occasional special events, alongside Board members.
- Fundraising innovation: assisting in the development of creative campaigns to increase donations/recruit lapsed donors, developing products and offerings.
- Financial management and admin: maintaining our donor database and contributing to fundraising budgets and forecasts.
Person Specification
Experience of working in a smaller charity and team is beneficial as this is a very hands-on role, covering a wide range of responsibilities.

- A proven, demonstrable track record of submitting successful funding applications.
- Experience in successfully fundraising from one or more of trusts, foundations, high value donors and corporates.

The role
In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Trust and Foundation fundraising. Your responsibilities will include building long-term partnerships with grant making trusts and foundations, ensuring support through in-depth research, excellent stewardship, and timely and accurate reporting. Provide support and counsel to our team of Senior Evaluation Managers and Evaluation Managers. This team closely manages over 35 efficacy trials, over 20 pilot studies and even more in the earlier stages of evaluation.

Tightly manage and quality assure evaluations commissioned under Targeted Projects. YEF has set processes to maintain high standards and rigour. This role will ensure all evaluations adhere to these.

The Caerlow Trust is recruiting a Grants Officer to join our small but expanding team based in West London.
The Trust’s operating principles are rooted in the basic belief that everyone deserves to have access to sufficient resources such that they are not concerned with day-to-day survival. It aims to achieve this by making grants targeting three main pillars of humanitarian relief: hunger, homelessness, and addiction.
Based in London, the Trust’s founders hope to make significant and meaningful change in the social landscape of London but also to grow to have a nationwide focus. The ambition is for the Trust to develop rapidly to become a versatile and flexible organization that will have a very real impact and make a huge difference to lives.
The Grants Officer is a new role and will join at an exciting time, having an important part to play in turning this ambition into reality.
The Grants Officer will provide a range of services that will support the Trust’s grant management cycle including research, assessment, database management, reporting and evaluation. They will also be a key contact for grant applications and recipients to support them throughout their relationship with the Trust.
