We have the opportunity for a Learning and Development Specialist (Safeguarding) to join our team and help to support a strong safeguarding culture within RBL, ensuring protection for beneficiaries and maintaining RBL's reputation. This exciting, newly created position will design and deliver learning to promote a person-centred approach in safeguarding and casework.

Reporting to our Learning and Development Practitioner, with cross function reporting to our Head of Safeguarding and Director of Casework, this key post will be focused on enabling staff, members, and volunteers to adhere to safeguarding regulatory requirements in the UK and overseas.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of all safeguarding learning material, key responsibilities will include:
- Online awareness training for staff, volunteers, and members on safeguarding adults and children, covering UK devolved administrations and RBL’s overseas welfare work
- Integrated safeguarding and casework training for range of staff, volunteers, members and stakeholders
- Working with Heads of Departments across all directorates to deliver SME-specific training both virtual and in-person
- Conducting research to support the planning and delivery of safeguarding training
- Evaluating case reviews and trends analysis, to inform training
This post is a Permanent Part Time opportunity, working 21 hours per week. Schedule of hours to be agreed between Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

Responsibilities of our Management Accountant:

- CCAB qualification

- Experience of the Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees)

The Finance Manager & Company Secretary role is a dual role where you will ensure efficient and effective planning and management of the charity’s finances and take charge of secretarial duties. The postholder will ensure appropriate financial policy and procedures are in place, to deliver effective financial management and decision making. To be considered for this role, you will have a professional accountancy qualification – ACCA, ACA or equivalent. You will also have the ability to explain financial processes to non-finance staff.

The Group Finance Director holds a key role in the executive team in the Foundation Office of the Charity. Lead the management and growth of a mission-aligned network, engaging high-net-worth individuals, including those who participate in Strive Challenges.

Work with our comms and marketing team to develop the donor network’s shared purpose, vision statement, brand identity and visibility.

Oversee the careful research, qualification and stewarding of new partnerships that will help to enrich and evolve the Strive network towards inclusivity and participatory approaches.

Co-develop value propositions with existing members of the Network to encourage others to join the group.

Create opportunities for the Strive Network to connect with and add value to our community of changemakers on the ground (eg. mentoring, connections, follow on funding).
3. Major Donor Engagement:

Lead on relationship management with existing major donors, designing tailored stewardship and ensuring ongoing engagement.

Review, evaluate and further develop key touchpoints with major donors, collaborating with team members across the organisation and other funders where appropriate.

Accountable for the identification, cultivation, and welcoming of new major donor prospects, with a focus on diversifying and expanding the Strive Network beyond its current reach.

Oversee the production of personalised proposals, presentations and reports, sparking ongoing engagement with the network and linking their contributions to Big Change’s community and impact.

Work closely with the Director of Strategic Development in managing high-profile donor relationships and securing multi-year commitments.

We support 900 women and children annually, with an income of £1.04m and 41 staff in 2023/24. About the role
The Philanthropy Events Manager role is a new specialised role within the Development Office and will be responsible for planning and implementing strategic fundraising events in support of the University of London’s major fundraising campaign and other fundraising priorities. You will play a critical role in the successful delivery of the fundraising campaign through strategic focus on driving impactful events programme and donor engagement strategies.
