Do you want to have a significant impact on the personal development of 17-year-olds in state schools across London?
Who we are
We are a small, lively and expanding charity promoting the personal development of young people in partner schools, through challenging activities that they design, plan and finally undertake adult free. We invite students (usually in groups) to develop their own challenges, something they want to do but which is well outside their ‘comfort zones’ and to be responsible for every stage of them: we provide planning support, risk management, and expenses funding. Who we are looking for
We are looking for an energetic, talented and reliable candidate to coordinate our schools’ outreach team, inspiring high-quality applications for funding from Year 12s. We are at an exciting stage of growth, now in 20% of London schools, so there is great scope to shape our strategic direction, including cultivating our alumni network of previous award winners. We are looking for competent leader, ideally with experience of risk and physical challenge, and strong administrative skills, who is comfortable working with schools. He/she will be keen to work with a growing charity, and to support young people usually with a poverty of experience and opportunity.
The post is up to 4-5 days per week, based in Southwark, with frequent travel to schools across London. The salary is £30,000 – £35,000 pa pro rata depending on experience. Flexible working considered.

Over the past 30 years we have made a positive impact on over half a million children and their families in the UK and 3 million children internationally, improving children’s experience of being in hospital through visits from professional performers, called Giggle Doctors.
Our Mission and Values
At Theodora Children’s Charity we help children living with illness, disability and serious health challenges to feel better using the proven power of laughter. Our vision is to contribute to the wellbeing of children in the 14 core hospitals and specialist care centres we visit across England, as well as those we support virtually. Our Giggle Doctors are specially trained performers who are able to visit children in a clinical setting or through the Virtual Visit Programme.
By combining music, play, magic and storytelling our 21 Giggle Doctors bring joy and laughter to children in challenging times. From Dr Boogie Woogie to Dr Teapot, our Giggle Doctors wear their very own ‘doctor coats’, which represent their character, and spend time one to one with the children. Giggle Doctors create opportunities for children to play and interact through a range of musical and fun activities. Sometimes they will make balloon animals and blow bubbles, and at other times they will sing a funny song or simply listen and talk to a child one to one.
The play is always child – led, with each interaction being unique to the child and their needs. A Giggle Doctor visit isn’t just about one magical moment, it can have a significant and lasting impact on a child’s well-being. About the Role
The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife. Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.
