Bristol Future Talent Partnership is a CIC that provides high quality work experience and mentoring opportunities to young people aged 14 to 18 from black and ethnic minority backgrounds. To date, we have positively impacted the lives of over 1200 students working with over 40 organisations and 16 schools and colleges. We are looking for a skilled Operations Manager who is highly motivated and driven. You will be able to use your initiative to shape the future work of the Partnership and have the desire and passion to drive the Partnership’s mission and values. You will be a strong people person who is able to collaborate effectively with external stakeholders.

Day to day, you will take the lead running the organisation. This includes, but is not limited to, helping organisations plan and execute high quality work experience placements, building new relationships with Bristol based organisations and educational establishments whilst managing existing stakeholder relationships and identifying and implementing improvements and changes necessary to ensure our offerings have the best possible impact for both the students and organisations involved. Bristol Future Talent Partnership is currently a team of one, with aspirations to grow with funding over time.

You will also be responsible for:

• Working closely with schools and colleges across Bristol to identify students for offerings, and helping teachers and careers leads prepare students for these opportunities
• Income generation through bid funding and the management of the organisations budget, including financial reporting
• Facilitation of the transition of the Partnership from a CIC to a registered charity
• Ensuring consistency and quality of offerings
• Responsible for risk management and safeguarding during all Partnership offerings
• Overseeing all placements and offerings, acting as the main point of contact
• Responsible for meeting the business plan as set out by the Board of Directors
• Monitoring and reporting of performance
• Analysis and reporting of feedback from both students and organisations, in line with data protection policies
• Social media content generation and website development
• Creation of bi-monthly student newsletters
• Organisation and facilitation of quarterly board meetings
• Developing the offerings of Bristol Future Talent Partnership and growing the number of young people, organisations and educational establishments involved, working closely with the board of directors

Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. The charity was founded in 1860 to work with vulnerable people living in the East End of London.  We are extremely proud of how the charity has continued to grow and develop for more than 160 years.

About the role

To lead the business development function within Providence Row, achieving agreed business retention and growth objectives to sustain the viability of Providence Row’s mission. The post holder works closely with the Executive Leadership Team and reports to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and distil trends and key drivers of change arising from the macroeconomic environment, regulation, politics and government policy. Adapt the business plan as required to intelligence from the market sector.
• Establish and maintain a network of influence within commissioning circles at local and regional level. Create and sustain external relationships in the interests of the charity and maintain a strong external presence/profile.
• Understand the organisation’s unique value proposition and competitive advantage, and how to maintain and communicate this.
• Assess the relative strengths and opportunities for the charity within the sector, identify peers and analogous charities, understand their value proposition relative to the charity and build partnership alliances in support of business capability. 
• Leverage new partnerships to diversify sources of work, expanding the charity’s presence and extending the reach and influence of the charity.
• Lead negotiations achieving retention of prioritised contracts on favourable terms.
• Actively monitor tender opportunities suited to the charity’s capabilities.
• Prepare compelling and competitive proposals that consistently position the organisation in the finalists’ list, provide strategic input to increase the win rate of bids/tenders.
• Ensure pricing and costing is competitive, reflecting the charity’s commitment to the delivery of high quality service and care.
• Research, assess and understand all sources of funds and funding mechanisms.
• Promote the charity’s work and vision more broadly in the charity sector, tell the organisational story in an effective and compelling manner, using outcome data and evidence of impact.
• Help to shape Providence Row’s long-term service delivery objectives and develop plans to achieve them.

The ideal candidate

To be considered for this role you should meet the following criteria:

• Senior level experience in leading on the retention and growth of business in the charity sector
• Confidence and experience in networking, influencing and negotiating with senior external stakeholders
• Skilled in drafting and submitting business proposals, written tenders and grant applications
•  Experience of successfully implementing strategic plans
• Knowledge of the commissioning landscape and funding trends
• Experience of working as part of a senior team

The new role of Strategic Communications Manager offers a unique opportunity to co-create the communications strategy for a growing, mission-driven organisation at the cutting edge of climate litigation and contribute to the climate justice movement worldwide.

ABOUT THE ROLE. CLN is a non-profit foundation that supports partners across the world to drive stronger climate action through litigation against high-emitting actors. We are now looking for a new Strategic Communications Manager to help us leverage the power of this litigation to shape global narratives that will exert pressure on governments and companies to take urgent climate action. Key responsibilities include:

● Develop CLN’s communications strategy for shifting narratives in support of climate action. You will do this in collaboration with CLN leadership and partners, including national legal and advocacy teams, international organisations and existing communications networks. This will include identifying proactive and reactive shared communications strategies that partners in our field can execute to maximise the impact of climate litigation and drive the message globally that climate action is a legal duty.

● Identify, develop and implement strategies to shift global media narratives on high-profile government and corporate cases. This will include crafting a global narrative or narratives around legal action, connecting that with wider climate efforts, and establishing strong working relationships with key international journalists as well as PR teams within relevant partners to ensure the right story is being told on this critical issue.

● Identify and develop opportunities within the global network of climate litigators to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing in relation to communications and advocacy strategies to support climate litigation. This should include contributing to monitoring, evaluation and reporting on communications, ensuring this work results in actionable insights that can feed back into strategies and ongoing campaigns.

● Champion and communicate the ongoing successes and impacts of climate cases in CLN’s network. This will include acting as an information broker for other climate campaigners and communicators to ensure cases are properly understood and amplified by other climate, environmental and human rights groups. It will also involve developing case studies to effectively communicate around cases and their impacts.

● Support national teams by providing guidance as needed on strategic communications and how to fit national campaigns into the global conversation around climate litigation and accountability.

● Identify and address strategic communications capacity gaps across our network. This will include identifying and addressing training needs for spokespeople (both at CLN and across our partner network), messaging and framing, and digital campaigns and advocacy.

● Lead on managing and maintaining CLN’s external communications. This will include defining our external positioning, maintaining our website and relevant social media channels, and responding to media enquiries.

Given the start-up and evolving nature of our organisation, we expect that there may be changes to how this role works in practice once the right candidate is in post.

About the role  

We are seeking a Head of Development and Partnerships to join our Senior Management Team alongside the CEO, Head of Programmes and Head of Finance and Operations.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Leading the Skills team as a whole, including direct line management of three line reports.
• Supporting the leadership of the broader Learning & Skills department and the Head of Learning and Skills, as a core member of the departmental senior management team, including helping lead the department through the current period of change.
• Scoping and leading highly collaborative skills projects, working with key internal and external stakeholders, to grow our evidence base and profile, and drive impact through working with and through partners (including national and regional governments).  This is likely to include:
  • Research and stakeholder engagement to better understand the barriers to physics-powered sectors being able to meet their skills needs, as well as targeted work within the physics-rich technical qualification landscape (including relevant T-levels and physics-related apprenticeships).
  • Developing regional and national policy recommendations, and associated policy advocacy to influence change, and
  • Establishing and leveraging partnerships with organisations to address the identified barriers.
• Providing strategic leadership and pastoral support (via the team leader) to the recently established team of regional Influence and Engagement managers, including supporting and enabling the matrixed ways of working with strategic sponsors of their work across the wider organisation.
• Embedding a new contracts centre of excellence, to support more effect partnership working across the department.
• Managing a budget of c. £80,000 - 100,000.

Projects you work on may include:

As a senior manager, you will have oversight of a portfolio of skills-related projects and activities, for example:

• Strategy development to shape the over-arching future direction of our skills work over the remaining strategy period,
• Collaborative research and policy projects, to identify the barriers and opportunities to physics-powered sectors, and
• Representing the IOP and advancing our agenda at external boards and fora.

You will likely play more of a lead role in a smaller number of flagship initiatives, alongside a broader strategic direction setting and oversight role of the portfolio of skills activities as a whole.                         

In addition, as part of the department’s senior management team, you will likely play a lead role in activities such as:

• Departmental and team development and culture-building initiatives, and
• Corporate activities, such as budgeting and business planning.

Who will I work with?

• A range of external stakeholders and potential partners. This includes: physics-powered employers (business and academia), skills stakeholders and partners (such as other learned societies, institutes, representative bodies and civil society organisations with aligned interests), and local, national and regional government representatives.
• The Head of Learning & Skills and the Learning Manager together as the senior management team of Learning & Skills; and the over-arching Director for Science, Innovation and Skills.  There will also be a need to work with the wider Executive Team on flagship initiatives.
• A wide range of other internal stakeholders (as noted in the job description) including senior managers and leaders across the wider organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an effective and sustainable individual giving plan and budget in line with the overall Art UK fundraising strategy, to grow income from new and existing donors and achieve annual targets

We have an exciting opportunity to join the St Mungo’s Digital Fundraising team as a Digital Fundraising Manager. You will be joining our small and dedicated team, working as part of the wider fundraising directorate to contribute towards the growth and success of St Mungo’s Digital Fundraising Strategy, which ultimately supports people experiencing homelessness and our aim to end rough sleeping for good.

Ensuring the delivery of The Trussell Trust’s vision to end the need for food banks in the UK by developing an in-depth understanding of Trussell Trust food banks in their area and using coaching and assist to build and hold productive relationships to:

· Develop and execute a strategic plan for reducing the need for food banks’ services locally.

· Work alongside local partners to increase public will for long-term solutions to end the need for food banks.

· Develop and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders to assist evidenced-based policy change at a local level and feed into activity to drive policy and practice at UK wide and national levels.
