Responsibilities

Administrative support:

• Assist the Production Manager with mailing specifications, collating internal information, creating purchase orders, and related administration.
• Support the Media Manager in arranging regional coverage for overseas staff in the UK.
• Provide administrative, planning, and organisational support to the Head of Communications and other team members.
• Administer and curate the archive of MAF documents.
• Work with the HR team to collect and store data processing consent forms.

Scheduling and Planning:

• Update and maintain the organisation’s print and digital communications schedule in collaboration with audience managers.

Content Creation:

• Contribute to digital communications including website content and social media.
• Assist in creating monthly print and digital communication documents at design and proofing stages.
• Support design tasks such as picture editing and layout.
• Create subtitles for digital content.
• Participate in creative idea and planning sessions

Updates and Research:

• Monitor staff blogs for potential stories and produce a weekly roundup of social media posts.
• Monitor external websites and news sources for relevant stories and brief teams accordingly.
• Provide research support as required.

Media Library Management:

• Upload and remove media assets, ensuring accurate metadata and compliance with MAF procedures.
• Support staff with acquiring and transferring assets from overseas programmes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the media library.

Terms and Conditions

• Location: This is a hybrid role with two days at MAF UK, 1st Floor Castle House, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, Kent, CT20 2TQ.  One day per week will be spent at our Operations Centre, MAF International, Henwood, Ashford, TN24 8DH and the other two days can be from home. 
• Working Hours: This is a full time role (at least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid) but requiring some flexibility on the successful candidate to work additional hours occasionally some of which could be outside the normal business hours.   Hours should be agreed with line manager.
• Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year and 8 paid public holidays per year.

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

The Role Within Unseen

Unseen provides support to people who have experienced Modern Slavery and Human trafficking and actively champions capturing voices in our work and providing development opportunities for those we are working with. Unseen also engages with a range of external partners to promote and facilitate person-centered and survivor informed responses to exploitation.

We develop evidence-based research and policy recommendations that are built from our support and collaboration work with survivors, key statutory service partners and NGOs. The Policy & Partnerships Officer will support the Policy & Research work of the organisation and support in the coordination of the Southwest Anti-Slavery Partnership to ensure delivery of real and tangible benefits for everyone involved, especially potential victims and survivors.

Purpose of the role

The Policy & Partnerships Officer will support in the delivery of Policy & Research projects and the collation of lived experience voices into our research work. You will work closely with the Policy & Partnerships Manager, the Survivor Involvement Coordinator, Senior Caseworkers and Unseen’s Survivor Consultant Volunteers and be responsible for the survivor consultant focus groups.

You will also support the Policy & Partnerships Manager in the coordination of the Southwest Anti-Slavery Partnership. Unseen facilitates the Avon & Somerset Anti-Slavery Partnership board, the Regional Anti-Slavery Partnership board and Bristol Modern Slavery Operational Partnership. The Local Storytelling Exchange is seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Executive Director to drive forward the scale and pace of impact at the Exchange.

This person will be a creative individual with an entrepreneurial mindset. Excited about joining a start-up, they will be strategic and analytical, with a strong understanding of where storytelling can make the biggest public and political impact. A background in strategic communications and / or climate policy is desirable, but a strong track record in project management and ideas development is key. As Crisis’ Media Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. You’ll help create bold and hard-hitting news stories to engage our audiences and bring to life some of our biggest organisational campaigns, like our annual Christmas appeal. You will also help make the most of reactive opportunities that come through to our press office and help build relationships with key journalists. 

About you 

You will have: 

• Experience of working within a busy press office environment/ PR agency or as a journalist. 

• Experience of supporting with or delivering impactful media campaigns or stories that have helped secure quality coverage in national and regional news outlets, as well as softer consumer features.

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft engaging copy for a range of audiences, including political, consumer, tabloid, trade and everything in between. 

• Experience of working with case studies, identifying and preparing stories for the media and empowering people to share their experiences.

• Strong news sense, with a good working knowledge of the UK media, including digital media production, with experience of creating digital first coverage and amplifying campaign messages creatively in the digital sphere.

We are looking for someone to manage the suite of YAW services, including Young Carers services, Splash, employability work, Youth Clubs Support and young people’s mental health programmes including BeMindful. You will oversee operations, plan, develop and implement a strategy for operational growth and development across Youth Action Wiltshire services. ABOUT THE ROLE 

The Community Education Officer plays an important role in both collaborating with communities to take part in shared learning and disseminating findings to wider audiences throughout the project, informing how it develops and boosting its impact. You will work in partnership with individuals and their communities, under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager as part of the education and advocacy programme. This will include cooperative identification of changes to the food system in Knowsley in the last century, engaging project participants in discussing those changes and raising awareness to wider audiences, supporting the project to achieve its aim of creating a shared understanding and celebrating Knowsley’s heritage and influencing strategies to shape the future of the borough, through sustained, quality engagement. You will support the Community Research Coordinator to capture qualitative and quantitative data that will inform reporting and contribute project monitoring and evaluation, participant outcomes and signposting groups & individuals to project activities with the aim of improving community participation & influence in our work.

The post holder will need to be proactive, working both independently and as part of a team, whilst managing and prioritising a busy workload.

Aim 9: COMMUNITY-ANCHORED FOOD ECONOMIES  

By the end of 2025, regional, participatory, celebratory food economies anchored in place and community will grow, challenging the corporate food model.

Key Responsibilities 

• Primary responsibility for leading the collaborative learning process with community stakeholders in Knowsley (e.g., community groups, local schools).
• Work with individuals, groups and communities to explore the food and farming heritage of Knowsley, creating a shared understanding of what came before Knowsley’s establishment as a Metropolitan Borough.
• Contribution towards the planning and execution of events and workshops in Knowsley in collaboration with the team at Feedback and key community stakeholders.
• Primary responsibility for creating educational resources from information obtained through delivery of Feedback Global’s Heritage Lottery Fund Project, to be utilised throughout this project and in future.
• Working alongside the project delivery team you will work to capture stories and knowledge about residents’ experiences of growing, producing and consuming local or seasonal food.
• Celebrate Knowsley and its heritage through the creation of projects and workshops in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Create educational resources from information obtained considering the present and future possibilities.
• Capture stories and knowledge about residents’ experiences of growing, producing and consuming local or seasonal food over time.
• Work closely with stakeholders to reach project outcomes
• Produce tangible solutions to issues Knowsley faces
• Use information obtained for advocacy and campaigns to benefit neighbourhoods, change that improves land use, access to fresh locally produced food and creates upskilling and employment opportunities.
• Explore Knowsley archives to understand changes in land use.
• Collate a multitude of existing heritage materials whilst adding dialogue from living residents.
• Assist with the recruitment and ongoing communication between community curators.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential criteria:

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and the ability to work alongside a wide range of stakeholders.
• High level of IT skills
• Experience of engagement in local community settings.
• Knowledge and interest in food as a way to engage people in advocacy for change.
• Awareness of partners, stakeholders and projects within Knowsley and the wider Merseyside area.
• Ability to regularly travel in and around Knowsley (public transport, cycle or drive)

We have a job vacancy for a Dementia Specialist to join Shine as the Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) / Dementia Coordinator. 

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

In the last year we have seen a 25% increase in members who are living with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently just over 600 members with NPH, plus their carers registered, but we are expecting this to continue to rise as awareness and diagnosis of the condition grows. 

We are looking for an experienced, skilled, organised and dedicated new staff member to join Shine’s Services team to develop and lead our new NPH service.

St Mungo’s is a leading homelessness charity, and we want to grow public awareness of our work. The Assistant Head of Public Engagement (Brand and Marketing) will lead work to drive increased awareness of St Mungo’s, supporting growth in fundraising income from the general public.

This role will be vital in driving public awareness and engagement with St Mungo’s and our work, to end homelessness and rebuild lives. In this role you will:

• Develop and implement a strategy to drive brand growth, to support an annual income target of £8.5m in Public Engagement, and year on year income growth across fundraising teams.
