Who we are

The Watoto Model is designed to provide vulnerable women and children in Africa with holistic care and to impact communities in the process. The model involves physical care, medical intervention including HIV/AIDS treatment, education - formal and vocational, counselling and emotional well being as well as moral and spiritual discipleship. Watoto believes that when orphaned and vulnerable children are placed in a loving family environment, with a mother and siblings who love them, the children find a place that they can call home. The villages incorporate outdoor spaces with sports fields and landscaped areas that allow the children to play and develop their social skills.

Currently Watoto has approximately 3000 children in its care, with projects in Kampala and Gulu, Uganda; and Juba, South Sudan.
