About us
Who we are
We are proudly part of a volunteer group that has transformed thousands of lives. Currently we have 300 volunteers giving up over 50,000 unpaid hours every year, which allows us to benefit from a wage saving of over £500,000. Our team is like a family working towards a shared goal; to grow, collect, prepare and serve around 55,000 hot meals every year.
As a testament to the incredible work or volunteers do, we were humbled to receive Royal recognition in 2014. We were bestowed with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service – an annual award given to groups in the voluntary sector in the UK. This award is the equivalent to an MBE, and is the highest award given to a voluntary group, which goes to show how spectacular our team is.
