Who we are
Launched in 2007, Pet Blood Bank UK (PBB UK) is a ground breaking and unique Not for Profit Organisation providing a canine blood bank service for all veterinary practitioners across the UK and the only UK Charity of its kind.
Our aim is to advance animal health and welfare and to relieve suffering by providing quick and convenient access to blood. Similar to the human blood service, dog owners kindly bring along their much loved canine companions to give blood at one of our many sessions across the country. The blood is then taken to their state of the art processing centre in Loughborough where it is separated into red blood cells and plasma products, and then stored ready for despatch.
We are a small charity that makes a difference by helping to save the lives of pets across the UK. We have a passionate and caring team, that all work together to support the aims of the Charity. We are a Real Living Wage Employer, and offer a pay structure so that everyone progresses year on year. We have a recognition and length of service scheme, as we love to celebrate team members achievements. We are a caring charity and have welfare at our core, but we are also pioneering and will push to the next level while staying grounded and real, knowing what is possible.
