About us

Who we are

Kentish Town City Farm was the first city farm to be introduced into the UK in 1972, setting the standard for good practice, pioneering many services, and incubating the, now national, Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens.

Our farm animals and gardens currently provide a unique platform for a wide range of valuable programmes and activities. The Staff and Trustees are successfully delivering a welcoming, nurturing community resource where urban people have unique access to the educational and wellness benefits of a traditional British farm.  We have deep connections into the community and have a solid understanding of its needs and wants. We provide direct service to over 13,000 people per year in our target groups, with an additional 15,500 benefiting from our open access policy.

Our mission is to improve the mental, social and physical well-being of everyone in the community with a particular focus on educating young people about farm life and the environment.  We work with the whole community and have an emphasis on young people living in Gospel Oak and the surrounding area; people with learning, physical and mental disabilities who live in Camden; and Camden school children.
