GOAL

Who we are

GOAL is an international aid charity dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the poorest of the poor. We are a non-denominational, non-governmental and non-political organisation. GOAL was founded in Dublin in 1977 by former sports journalist and former Chief Executive, John O’Shea. 

 Since its inception in 1977, the charity has responded to every major humanitarian disaster, spending in the region of €800 million on humanitarian programmes in more than 50 countries. GOAL currently has in excess of 3,000 staff based in 19 countries.

GOAL is a charity focused on delivering a range of humanitarian programmes, such as Emergency Response, Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation, Healthcare, Crisis Recovery, Community Development, Education, Livelihoods Development, HIV and Aids, Integrated Development and Slum Development Programmes, Food Distribution, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene WASH).

GOAL UK is seeking healthcare professionals including Nurses, Midwives, Administrators and Logisticians to join our new Emergency Medical Team (EMT) in London. The EMT will work in major international emergencies necessitating immediate response, providing primary and trauma healthcare and responding to outbreaks and epidemics. The team will conduct needs assessments, design and set up new programmes and generally guide the establishment of crisis response.
