About us
Who we are
Founded in 1987, Charity Finance Group’s training and development programmes enable finance managers to give the essential leadership on finance strategy and management that their charities need. With more than 1,400 members, managing over £21.1 billion, (which represents almost one third of the sector’s income), we are uniquely placed to challenge regulation which threatens the effective use of charity funds. The culture of sharing and contributing to the wider sector beyond the individual charities in membership is at the heart of CFG's activities. Charity Finance Group is active in the policy arena as well as in education and training and provides information and support for members and the wider charity sector on different levels. We work with other organisations, regulators and charities to input charity expertise to the regulatory process, and to develop best practice in charity management. In this quest, CFG is represented on many committees and working parties established by professional bodies and government departments, including the APB Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Committee and the SORP Review Committee.
Our culture and values
We believe the most productive, successful and enjoyable organisations to work for are the ones that champion collaboration, innovation and creativity. We want nothing more than for each individual to get inspired by what we do and generate ideas and more effective ways of working. We want each person to grow during their time with us and help move us closer to achieving our goals.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The research is clear: ambitious goals are solved better by diverse teams. People with different backgrounds and experiences bring new perspectives to the team. So our focus is on reaching a diverse group of candidates, strengthening our team to be truly representative of all groups within society
We know we have to actively look for the people we’re missing out on, and so you may see our roles promoted in a range of locations. At Charity Finance Group, we hire people by assessing how their skills fit the role, how their values and experiences add to our team’s diversity and what energy they bring to us. Non-graduates are welcome.
Belonging is an important aspect of diversity and inclusion. We want every member of our team to feel accepted and understood at CFG – to fundamentally feel each of us can bring as much of our authentic selves to work as we choose.
We invest in our team, so that people want to stay. We have a zero-tolerance approach to any kind of discrimination. We’re always open to constructive feedback –please do bring things to our attention, so we can improve what we do and how we do it.
