Bringing Unity Back Into the Community (BUBIC)

Who we are

Set up in 2000, Bringing Unity Back into the Community (BUBIC) is a charitable company based in Tottenham, North London that creates opportunities for individuals to make changes in their lives. We are a lived experience recovery organisation independently led by people with lived experience of recovery from problem drug and alcohol use. 

In 2023/24, we:

●     made over 750 engagements during day outreach

●     made over 300 engagements during night outreach

●     had 1,750 attendances at our peer support groups

●     provided over 300 people who were rough sleeping with referrals to housing support, advice and information, harm reduction including naloxone and support to access treatment and recovery services

●     provided over 80 wellbeing checks

●     worked to re-engage over 30 people into treatment and recovery support

Our culture and values

BUBIC aims to relieve the physical and mental sickness of people of Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic (BAME) descent currently living in Haringey, elsewhere in London and the UK affected by problem drug and alcohol use including dependence by the provision of peer support, outreach and community engagement. We are committed to creating inclusion and cohesion within our community and wider society. 

Our work enables individuals to recognise the causes and effects of habitual behaviours and make positive choices to improve their general health and wellbeing. The BUBIC way is to spend time on the streets engaging with individuals that mainstream services often do not engage and ‘Making Every Contact Count’.
