Role Requirements
Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Water & Hydro Pool Technician will perform essential duties to ensure compliance of our systems. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing potable water systems and equipment such as pipes, pumps, valves, and tanks, as well as hydro pool plant. You will collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent service alignment with HSG274, ACOP L8, IPC, legislative requirements, and standards. The role will also help support requirements and audits set out by CQC and Ofsted.
The role will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, ensuring their delivery and completion, including any necessary remedial actions. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating site water management reports and presenting them to both your line manager and our in-house Water Safety Group. You will also meticulously manage all water records onsite, maintaining compliance with relevant systems such as logbooks and eLogbook's. The role is also responsible for managing the appointed water laboratory for testing of water samples.
Other duties include conducting Legionella water sampling, Temperature checking, descaling of shower heads, TMV servicing, reviewing and managing Water RAMS for works carried out by contractors, as well as performing water treatment tasks such as tank cleaning, pH testing, water temperature testing, chlorination, and chemical dosing.

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. Symptoms can include haemorrhages, seizures and other neurological problems. Treatment involves 'wait and see', neurosurgery or stereotactic radiosurgery; with no medications currently available.
Cavernoma Alliance UK (CAUK) is a member-led organisation, run by and for those impacted by cavernoma with more information available on our website. We work from a model of empowerment, recognising the value of our members’ lived experience to provide mutual support, improve standards of care and drive research into finding a cure.
Since the charity was founded in 2005 it has grown from a volunteer-led organisation based in Dorchester to a UK wide registered charity that now has 2 part-time permanent staff, looking to increase to 4 Part-time staff (all home-based), 50+ volunteers, and 4,000+ members. Our support services include a helpline, buddying, counselling, online support groups, meet-ups, webinars, lectures, newsletter, leaflets, website and social media.
About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers. This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date. Over time the post-holder will be expected to build a good working knowledge of members and volunteers. They will also be expected to develop strong communication skills, including active listening, alongside the ability to multitask, manage time and prioritise.
The Events and Office Assistant is responsible for assisting the Charity Manager with the administration of events alongside some general office activities for the charity. As an Assistant Community Fundraiser, you will play an integral part in supporting the Community Fundraising team to reach their annual income target. You will oversee the running of the Edinburgh fundraising office, including stock management and managing a small team of volunteers. You will help support the team by co-ordinating supporter and volunteer communications, and attend fundraising events when required.
About You
- Experience in an office or customer facing environment

We began as a small sandwich shop in Edinburgh in 2012, offering jobs and free food to people affected by homelessness. We’re now expanding our projects across the UK, on a collaborative mission – a movement to end homelessness.
We help people break the cycle of homelessness through innovative supported employment programmes (Jobs First) and housing solutions (Social Bite Villages) and give out over 165,000 items of free food year-round through our coffee shops and community networks.

About the role:
We’re looking for an Admin Assistant to support our Education and Research team for a period of 12 months. The role is varied and includes processing of learner enrolment, attendance and payment data, issuing certificates of attendance and collecting and collating evaluations. A substantial part of the role also involves being the first point of contact for course enquiries.
You will have defined areas of responsibility but also be required to be adaptable and undertake other administrative tasks when necessary.
About you:
You’ll have great interpersonal skills and ability to produce accurate and well-presented work. You'll also have knowledge of computer systems and programmes including MS Office, and accounting software. You will be able to organise your own workload whilst responding to ever changing priorities.

Your new role
- Reporting to the Management Accountant.
- Producing regular monthly journals, including intercompany recharges, accruals and prepayments etc.
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts/budget holder reports for designated departments.
- Undertaking preliminary variance analysis between budgets, forecasts and actuals and drafting variance commentary.
- Calculating, recording, monitoring and payment of grants.
- Investigating discrepancies and unexpected variances, making corrections if required.
- Undertaking ad-hoc analysis.
- Assisting in review and preparation of phased budgets, financial plans and forecasts and loading budgets and forecasts into SAP.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong Excel skills and experience with manipulating large volumes of data.
- Experience of working in the finance function of a large organisation, including in a management accounting context.
- Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting adjustments such as accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
- Either part-qualified or looking to start studying.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines and have a flexible approach to work.

We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic, ambitious team in our shop in Harrow.
You will be expected to assist the Shop Manager in all aspects of the retail business including driving sales, managing stock and donations and developing and growing the business within the local community.
A key part of this role will be the ability to work alongside the Shop Manager creating a harmonious and successful working relationship together and with a team of volunteers.
