Responsibilities of our Management Accountant:
- work closely with Budget Holders to provide expert support and insight to aid financial decisionmaking
- provide financial reports and analysis for the Charity and its trading subsidiary, including the production of monthly management accounts and support the production of the statutory accounts and the related external audit
- deliver the budgetsetting and reforecasting processes and provide financial expertise and support to budget-holders across the charity, working closely with the rest of the team to deliver a joined up and robust set of numbers and commentary
- provide analytical skills for strategic and operational improvements, including reviewing business cases and supporting projects
- work collaboratively with the rest of the team to deliver financial planning and analysis functions, as well as supporting the wider Finance team to deliver an efficient and effective service to the Charity
About the Finance team:
- responsible for managing the financial operations of the Charity
- plays a vital role in the organisation’s success by ensuring sound financial management, betterinformed decision making and supporting delivery of the overall strategy
- responsibility for key tasks such as budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting and analysis
- the Management Accounts team are a team of five, reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, all of whom support the Head of Budgeting & Reporting
- the wider Finance team includes the Operational Finance team, including AP, financial accounting and payroll
What we’re looking for in our Management Accountant:
- CCAB qualification
- Collaborative and proactive approach, working with Finance and wider colleagues to solve problems and continually improve the work we do
- Confident in the use of accounting packages, data manipulation and assimilation of information from multiple sources
- Methodical, concise working ethic and business acumen
- Experience of the Management Accountant role in a large organisation (250+ employees)
- Experience of working with a broad range of Budget Holders and business areas, providing support and advice around financial management issues
- The ability to explain financial related matters to nontechnical customers, with excellent oral & written communications skills
- The ability to build strong relationships and influence change
- Experience of working in the charity/not for profit sector OR adaptable and comfortable in tackling this new environment

This will involve leading the implementation of our audience framework and delivering a range of quantitative market data and insight projects. You will partner across the directorate to provide expert advice that ensures we are driving a data-led, audience-centric approach to our Marketing and Fundraising activity. For example, you will create and manage segmentation projects; communicate segmentation insights and ensure findings are fully embedded; and commission and manage additional consumer market insight via agencies.

What will I be doing?
Collaborating with the Senior Manager to lead the implementation and communication of Cancer Research UK's Audience Framework.
Supporting the Senior Manager to deliver a programme of market insight & experience projects with a particular focus on segmentation and audience-centric projects.
Carrying out quantitative audience market data analysis using SPSS and Excel.
Using audience market data to advise colleagues across the Marketing, Fundraising & Events directorate on how best to approach our target audience.
Carrying out end-to-end market research projects which will include leading primary research projects and carrying out secondary data analysis.
Commissioning and managing market research agencies and consultants (including managing timelines, budgets, processes, data quality checks, and ensuring value for money).
Developing strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders helping them understand their insight requirements and ambitions.
What are you looking for?
Consumer-focused Research/ Insight professional with a background in quantitative market research techniques.
Strong quantitative analysis skills with experience handling large, complex market research data sets using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) or similar and advanced Excel.
Worked closely with Marketing teams to improve audience understanding and targeting.
Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills with an ability to communicate clearly and bring internal perspectives and external trends into your work.

A wide-ranging and rewarding role, the Director of The William Morris Society and Museum is responsible for leading the strategic direction, operational management, and financial sustainability of the charity. What the job involves
We're looking for a Proposition Development Manager to join a newly created team within our Fundraising directorate. The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.
As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors.
Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. About the role
As the Operations Officer you will provide dedicated support to the Start Funds' portfolio, currently comprising the global Start Fund, Start Fund Bangladesh, Start Fund Nepal and the Ukraine locally-led pooled fund. The role will contribute to ensuring that Start Funds' awards are efficiently and effectively managed, provide support to the financial management of the Start Fund programmes, implement the fund's approach to and management of risk and compliance, and assist with procurement.
In this role, you will:
Operational and programme management:
- Support the Start Funds Operations Advisor in maintaining effective award management processes, in close coordination with SCUK as Grant Custodian to the Start Network
- Support in ensuring that Start Funds' programmes are fully compliant with grants and contracts and managed in-line with relevant SCUK and Start Network policies and practices
- In coordination with the Start Network Assurance team, provide inputs for the implementation of the Start Funds' approach to and management of risk and compliance
- Support the Start Funds Operations Advisor in the management of audits

The coalition
Send My Friend to School is a UK civil society coalition of international development NGOs, teachers’ unions and charities.
It brings together young people, politicians, teachers, civil society and the media in joint campaigning to demand quality education for all children across the globe. Each year thousands of schools and young people take part in the campaign, teaching young people the power and importance of using their voices in chorus with others across the globe to create positive change.
Send My Friend to School is the UK coalition of the Global Campaign for Education movement which is present in over 90 countries around the world.
Location
This role will be employed by Send My Friend to School Steering Group member Results UK, on behalf of the Send My Friend to School coalition, and will be based in Results UK’s office near Waterloo. Hybrid working is in place whereby staff are required to work from the office at least 2 days a week.
Terms & Conditions
This is a full time (35 hours per week), permanent post, with a 3 month probation period. There is likely to be occasional evening and weekend work involved, for which time off in lieu will be received. Holidays are 25 days pro rata per year plus bank holidays. Line Management

People (HR)
