An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Youth Work to join a fantastic London-based charity dedicated to promoting the well-being of young people.
Location: Lambeth, London
Contract: Full time, permanent (some evening and/or weekend work expected where activities require it)
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 (dependant on experience)
The charity has a 2/3-bedroom flat, that could be made available if required. This would then be reflected in the overall package.
As Director of Youth Work, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality youth work programmes and leading a team of youth workers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing engaging and innovative youth work programmes aligned with young people's interests and needs.
- Providing guidance, advice, and support to young people on a range of issues, such as education, careers, and personal development
- Leading and mentoring a team of youth workers and volunteers, ensuring effective delivery of programmes and services.
- Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities to support youth programmes, including the writing of compelling grant proposals.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners, including local organisations, schools, and businesses.
- Monitoring and evaluating the impact of youth work programmes, collecting and analysing data to inform future planning.
- Managing and controlling the Club’s finances, with the support and assistance of the Board, accountants and bookkeeper.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all young people, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in youth work, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality programmes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills are key, as is a strong passion about youth empowerment and social justice. You must have a clear DBS at enhanced level and demonstrate comprehensive understanding of child protection and safeguarding policy, practice and procedures. Crucially, you must be flexible, recognising that the needs of a community of young people do not always fit into a neat 9-5 job. Experience in managing teams and budgets, and knowledge of local community needs and resources is also desirable.

The team and role overview
Reporting lines: Main point of contact will be the Chair of Board when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks but will regularly liaise directly with Ben Simms (CEO) and/or Saf Rahbour (COO) when agreeing Board minutes/other tasks.
2-4 consulting days per month, within the period of April 2025 to March 2026 taking into account the Consultant’s prior commitments. Please note there will be a degree of flexibility within this, with some weeks requiring more capacity, others much less. The timing of deliverables will always be agreed in advance with the Consultant.
The contract is for 36 days maximum over a 12-month period. The Consultant will receive a daily rate (£250-£350) dependent upon experience and qualifications. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable and will cover all expenses apart from project-related travel and communication expenses. Where reasonable travel and communications expenses are incurred, the Consultant will be remunerated following the submission of timely and accurate receipts.
Receipts must be kept, where possible, in order to claim for support costs. Consultants will not be expected to use their own funds to cover project-related costs.
Invoices must be submitted monthly in £ GBP and the HRMC exchange rate used to calculate any support costs expenses. The monthly exchange rate to be used should match the month the costs were made (and the month should match the receipt).

What you’ll be doing …
The main purpose of this role is to provide effective administrative and onsite support to the events team across events, conferences, training courses and venue hire. You will be highly organised with a keen eye for detail and have enthusiasm for events and working for a membership organisation.
Overall responsibilities / requirements …
- To support the events team with managing sales and general events enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Supporting the team on delivering show rounds to prospective clients when needed.
- Work collaboratively with the Venue Hire Lead, Head of Events and Buildings Manager to communicate key information taking place across Burlington House.
- To support events with raising invoices and resolving queries in a timely manner.
- To support events with conference administration including delegate liaison, abstract management, badges and event requirements.
- To support events with training course administration including delegate liaison, course materials management and training requirements.
Event Operations:
- To support the events team with ad-hoc events out of hours where needed across the year.
- Ensure the events spaces are well maintained in collaboration with the Buildings Manager and Venue Hire Lead.
Teamwork:
- To be proactive in identifying areas for potential improvement in the events administration process.
- To take part in developing more efficient ways of working within the team attending team meetings and updating on administrative areas.
- To ensure that positive working relationships are continued across departments at GSL
- To participate in wider meetings including External Relations and Health & Safety.

The Senior Legacy and In Memory Fundraiser will play a key role in delivering our Legacy and In Memory programmes. The role
The purpose of this role is to be our expert in Legacy and In Memory marketing and fundraising. You will lead on the day-to-day delivery of our Legacy and In Memory marketing campaigns - from inception to evaluation, as well as testing new channels.
You will be working across multiple channels including both digital and traditional and in addition social, email, direct marketing and telephone fundraising.

About you
We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in all marketing tools and channel including both digital and non-digital.
You will have solid experience managing marketing activity from concept, planning, design, print, production and postage. And have extensive experience in all stages of the supporter journey – acquisition, consideration, conversion, retention and long-term loyalty.
You will have a proven track record in growing supporter engagement and loyalty with a relationship management approach, ideally within the charitable sector.
You will also have extensive experience of developing and project managing a variety of fundraising and marketing campaigns and other projects within budget and on time.

Role Requirements
- Provide high quality, evidence-based interventions for children and young people attending The Children’s Trust School in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team and education services, under the guidance of qualified therapists.
- Deliver suitable, individualised, 24hr therapy programmes/strategies, which fit within the child’s daily routine, whether to be carried out by parents or members of the multidisciplinary team; work in collaboration with parents, carers, and therapists to support therapy goal setting, which will facilitate participation of the child in their life skills.
- Support the therapists, multidisciplinary and education teams with measuring short term targets, through using the IMpacts curriculum and therapy outcome measurement tools e.g., Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS).
- Keep appropriate and accurate intervention records, fulfilling legal, professional and all other requirements of The Children’s Trust.
- Support the delivery of a tiered model approach to therapy at The Children’s Trust School, providing regular integrated time to classes and Houses.
- Work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team, the child, and their family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/ school visits, professional child related meetings and appointments, as required.
- Support the child throughout their daily routines to maximise independence and participation including afterschool clubs and trips.
- Provide clinical cover across the service during episodes of staff shortage/ heavy workload, to ensure effective service delivery.
- Be an autonomous technician, with responsibility for assisting with assessment, treatment, and planning, for an allocated case load of children/young people, as directed through supervision.
- Manage a small case load of children and young people, under the guidance of a qualified therapist.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the Employee Relations and Union Services in the CSP as a full time Senior Negotiating Officer (SNO) for the East of England. This is a challenging, but very enjoyable role which will see you:
- Supporting, advising and training the network of stewards, safety representatives and equality representatives in the East of England.
- Advising and supporting stewards to manage their own casework, whilst managing your own caseload of employment relations issues, including but not limited to dicisplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, HCPC and legal cases.
- Attending and representing the CSP at strategic regional forums such as regional Social Partnership Forums and Integrated Care Boards/Integrated Care Systems.
- Take the lead for the CSP contract for service with the Federation of Clinical Scientists (FCS) to deliver advice, support and representation to FCS representatives and members and deliver training.
You will be working in a wider team of Senior Negotiating Officers and organisers, whilst also working in a cross directorate fashion to deliver on the local priorities for members.
We are looking for an individual with significant experience and a background in the trade union movement. They should be dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for members and to building the membership and activism levels in the CSP.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to problem solve. You will also have experience in advocacy and representing members and have a thorough understanding of the current issues facing CSP members. You will also be expected to be able to display excellent trade union knowledge.

About the role
In 2025, the government will pass landmark legislation via the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, making the UK the first country in the world to phase out the sale of tobacco to future generations. This is your opportunity to join an ambitious and high-performing policy team at a critical time to influence the policy direction on tobacco in Westminster, the NHS and local government. ASH has a small team, meaning that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas and gain wide experience very quickly.
This includes supporting policy development around novel products such as vapes alongside efforts to reduce health inequalities by addressing smoking among groups experiencing disadvantage. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic policy environment, the Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for delivering ASH’s programmes of work to reduce smoking prevalence among people with mental health conditions and improve delivery of stop smoking support in the NHS. There’s no such thing as a typical day: the Senior Policy Officer could be involved in everything from leading on consultation responses or contributing to briefings for MPs, to running a webinar for NHS professionals. Business & Human Rights Resource Centre, an international non-profit organisation tracking the human rights impacts of more than 10,000 companies worldwide, is seeking a Social Media and Digital Content Officer to join our global team.
The successful candidate will be a creative, digital native social media expert who can help to take our social media content to the next level, helping us to reach and influence our most important audiences.
They will be comfortable devising social media content ideas, designing creative assets, writing sharp, engaging social media copy, and helping colleagues around the world to grow their own social media presence.
The position will also play an important role in the success of our digital platform, which is central to everything the organisation does, both creating content and facilitating content creation by colleagues from across our global team.
This role will join the busy and collegiate central Communications Team, as well as working with project team colleagues to help most effectively communicate our research, analysis and key findings on social channels, supporting and amplifying the efforts of our partners on the ground driving respect for human rights in business and fighting to achieve justice and remedies for victims of corporate abuse.
Key Responsibilities
Social media (approx. two thirds of role):
- Social media content: Manage the day-to-day social media comms production and planning, including planning calendars, scheduling and posting
- Asset creation: Design and create compelling social-first assets and copy for channels including LinkedIn, X and Bluesky
- Regional support: Support regional teams in strengthening their own social media content, outreach and engagement, including our Spanish-language channels (candidates are not expected to be Spanish speakers).
- Channel growth: Lead on growing follower numbers and engagement levels for our social media accounts
- Social media strategy: Support Head of Comms on updating and executing the social media elements of the new communications strategy.
- Digital advertising: assisting the Head of Comms on the rollout of digital advertising campaigns.
Monitoring and evaluation:
- KPIs and evaluation: Lead on monitoring and evaluating our social media performance and KPIs.
- Monitoring: Monitoring online conversation for mentions of BHRRC and opportunities for the organisation to react to breaking situations and stories, working with our Media Officer.
Website (approx. one third of role):
- Training and content creation: Becoming a website “super user”, creating content for our website, and leading on support and training for team members on how to add front-end content on the site.
- Digital-first events: Support on the rollout of digital-first events, including leading on logistics and communications for our flagship Mary Robinson series.
Key competencies and attributes
Essential:
Experience: At least three years’ experience in a social media-focused role, with a strong preference for experience working as part of an international team or on international issues and campaigns.
A digital native, who understands how to create compelling content that is social-first in nature.
A track record of developing impactful social media and digital communications content, preferably in the campaigning, policy, advocacy or not-for-profit spaces.
Communications: Excellent understanding of how strategic digital communications can work alongside research and advocacy approaches to achieve change.
Proven ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an impactful way; understanding of how to tailor content to different audiences, contexts and channels online.
Global focus: This role has a strong regional/international remit and international working experience is strongly preferred.
Content creation: Experience in creating graphic content (in Canva or another graphics program). Experience in creating or editing video content would be an advantage, but is not essential.
Writing for social and the web: Must be able to condense complex information into compelling social-first copy that drives users to meaningful action, and to translate copy into website-appropriate, SEO friendly online copy.
Website content: Experience with website CMS such as Wagtail, Drupal, Wordpress, and creating web pages/content for websites.
Supporting staff: Enthusiasm for supporting colleagues develop compelling digital communications. Experience supporting staff through training or coaching desirable.
Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams which are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Willingness to provide cover for team members - including occasional, infrequent out of hours work - and share admin jobs. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse cultures and working environments also desirable.
Desirable:
Digital analytics and other tools: Comfortable using tools such as Google Analytics and on-board social media analytics in e.g. LinkedIn to monitor, evaluate and report on content performance. Experience in using social media scheduling tools is a bonus.
Knowledge of human rights issues: A strong interest in international issues and familiarity with social justice issues desirable.
Languages: Must have exceptional spoken and written English. Additional language(s) desirable (Arabic/ Chinese/ French/ German/ Japanese/ Korean/ Portuguese/ Spanish).
Travel: There may be occasional international travel for information gathering, communications and/or representation.
