About the Role:
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home and our office Singer Street.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
- Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

About the Role:
With 10 years to achieve Agenda 2030, the SDG 6 targets on clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene are among the furthest behind. Achieving universal, sustainable WASH will require a major mobilisation of resources, public demand and political will. The successful candidate will build campaigns that drive that public demand, playing a pivotal role in driving forward this agenda, delivering improvements in the lives of millions of the world’s poorest people.
In this role, you will:
1. Vision and direction
- Articulate a clear vision for the organisation’s campaigning; lead the organisation and the team to implement this vision and help deliver an increase in the scale and impact of WaterAid’s global influence to accelerate progress towards SDG6;
2. Global Campaign Plans
- Lead the design and implementation of WaterAid’s priority global campaigns to maximise WaterAid’s influence on global and national political debates, working in partnership with senior leaders across the organisation.
- In partnership with the Global Policy and Advocacy Director, ensure WaterAid’s campaigns and advocacy are rooted in robust evidence and credible policy analysis;
- In partnership with WaterAid’s International Affairs Director, work to strategically influence and position the organisation’s key campaign agendas in international and multilateral fora.
- In partnership with WaterAid’s senior leaders, support the development and implementation of national level campaign plans, to deliver policy and practice change in key countries, and identify opportunities to bridge between national and global campaign agendas;

- Work in partnership with the Global Director of Policy and the Global Director of International Affairs to maximise the synergies between the Policy, Campaigns and International Affairs teams, encourage a team culture of strategic collaboration and ways of working that foster the breaking down of silos;
- Line manage the two Head of Campaigns; lead the team effectively, with a strong focus on individual performance management, team cohesion and integration within both the department and the wider organisation, in accordance with the core values of WaterAid;
About You:
- A proven track record of leading successful international campaigning and advocacy initiatives, including through influencing institutions and governments, mobilising constituencies and achieving ambitious political change;
- Proven experience of mobilising the public on SDG thematic areas.
- A keen political ‘savviness’ and an awareness of the potential for achieving political change primarily, with a demonstrated track record of both insider and outsider approaches and sophisticated understanding of when and how to apply them;
- A strategic and innovative thinker with the ability to deliver tangible results. Someone who embraces complexity and uncertainty;
- A creative force, with an understanding of how to turn a strategy into a campaign.
- Experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change;

Union Chapel has been running an important project to assist asylum seekers resident in Islington contingency hotels.
With funding made available by Islington Council, we provide wraparound support in the form of orientation workshops; health and wellbeing; information relating to the asylum process; ESOL classes; social activities and befriending.
Union Chapel is a church with a strong commitment to social, economic, racial and climate justice. Alongside Margins our charity for people living precarious lives, we aim to ensure dignity and self-determination for all who are seeking safety within the UK. Union Chapel is also well known as a venue for music.
Union Chapel is located in Compton Terrace, N1 but the bulk of the work will take place either in the hotels or in premises close to them in Kings Cross.
The post holder will work closely within the Church team and alongside the Margins staff, especially with our Social Justice Worker.
This post is part time – 3 and ½ days per week. Some early evening work may be required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Run regular ESOL classes and organise new groups according to students’ needs
Recruit volunteers who will provide regular learning opportunities and befriending for hotel residents, including recruitment from within the resident group
Arrange Safeguarding courses and DBS checks for volunteers
Provide information to potential and newly recruited volunteers on the values, activities and scope of the programme
Maintain regular contact and support for volunteers
Manage a timetable for ESOL groups
Liaise with hotel staff and external partners to maximise learning opportunities for students
Plan English classes and provide appropriate learning materials and resources
Provide volunteers and participants with information on other opportunities within our programme such as workshops on the asylum process and health and wellbeing and other free opportunities
Report any safeguarding issues in a timely manner

The Director of Finance role presents an exciting opportunity to manage and create a finance team that will support the Anglican Communion, whilst also being a key member of the senior management team. You will lead and direct the Anglican Communion’s financial strategy and management, ensure commercial planning, delivery and evaluation in all areas of ACO activity, whilst also providing financial management and administration for two related charities: the Anglican Alliance and the Anglican Centre in Rome.

The role:
