Looking to join a friendly, dedicated and welcoming team to make positive changes in young people's lives? Our Bank Support Worker roles are similar to our Support Workers roles, but they work on a more flexible, temporary basis – so if you don’t want to commit to a regular working pattern and prefer to pick up shifts that work for you, when they are available, this role is for you. It's also a great way into the organisation and can be a stepping stone into other roles.

We provide support to our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. Are you looking for a rewarding role working for an intersectional feminist organisation? If so, we have an incredible opportunity for you to join our team as Peripatetic Worker at Solace Women's Aid.
We exist to end the harm done through gender-based violence. Our aim is to work to prevent violence and abuse, as well as providing services to meet the individual needs of survivors, particularly women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.
Our core values reflect our history and were developed in consultation with staff and service users. Feminism and intersectionality are key to our work and we are committed to the principles of being survivor-led, trauma-informed, empowering, diverse, anti-racist and anti-discriminatory.
About the Service
Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.
The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.
About the Role
In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and trauma-informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.
Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.
The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.
This role in certain placements will require you to work a rota including weekend hours between 8am – 8pm.
About You
The Peripatetic Team is dynamic – our colleagues bring a wide range of transferrable skills and different experiences to the team that informs our practice and work with survivors.
The Peripatetic Team is looking for passionate advocates who understand the importance of working in a trauma-informed way with both survivors and colleagues, who are willing to continuously learn and develop their skills, and who understand intersectionality and the impacts violence against women and girls can have on women with intersecting identities. While prior experience of working with survivors of abuse is desirable, it is not a requirement and if you have transferrable skills and a passion for supporting women and children then we would love to hear from you.
You will be a great fit in the Peri Team if you embrace change, have a growth mindset, and are comfortable working independently. Although peri workers are dispersed across different services, the team offers regular opportunities to connect with fellow peri colleagues.
We understand that you may not have all the knowledge, experience, and skills mentioned in the Job Profile Document. However, your interpersonal skills, passion to have a positive impact, commitment to our purpose, and ability to learn quickly and collaborate effectively will be equally important. If you wish to learn more about the role or if you are unsure about whether to apply, we encourage you to contact our recruitment team at.

TLC: Talk Listen, Change is seeking an engagement worker to conduct individual sessions and group work with adults experiencing homelessness who are seeking to change their harmful behaviours. In this role, you will be part of a broader partnership that delivers a range of interventions to support individuals, families, and the wider community. Your work will focus on helping clients reduce harmful behaviours and work towards safer, healthier lifestyles, and ensure clients are supported for other complex needs within a partnership approach.
The role
As an Engagement Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in transforming the lives of adults experiencing homelessness by helping them address and change harmful behaviours. You’ll identify their challenges and work to create actionable plans for improvement, collaborating with various agencies to connect them to the resources they need. With the support of senior staff, you’ll implement effective risk management strategies and serve as a mentor, delivering targeted programme materials focused on harm reduction, early intervention, and behaviour modification in both individual and group settings. This role is about stepping up and making a meaningful impact. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
About you
Are you a compassionate leader who excels in supporting adults experiencing homelessness and helping those who want to address their harmful behaviours? We’re seeking someone who can confidently deliver tailored programs to this vulnerable population, skilled at managing interactions in both one-on-one and group settings. In group scenarios, you're a team player who works alongside colleagues to model prosocial behaviour and foster a supportive environment. You've demonstrated your ability to build trust with clients and are unafraid to confront challenging or harmful behaviours directly.
Ideally, you have experience working with adults in a therapeutic setting and have a strong background in managing safeguarding concerns. You’re adept at navigating conflict and consistently bring a positive, solution-focused attitude to your work.
If you have experience supporting individuals with complex needs or are multilingual, we’re especially interested in hearing from you.
We believe in empowering our team members to excel in their roles. That’s why we offer flexible working hours around core business times, an annual Professional Development allowance, a generous annual leave package, and additional time off for your birthday, Health & Wellbeing Day, and EDI-focused Volunteering Day.
If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact and help shape a better future for our clients, we’d love to hear from you.
