We are recruiting a Peer Support Coordinator to lead the development and delivery of Peer Support sessions and work with Peer Support Volunteers to develop new opportunities. Groups will be held at our Greenwich centre and at venues across the borough of Greenwich. We particularly want to increase engagement of under-served communities in Greenwich.

You will have experience of group development, collaborative working across service teams and an excellent understanding of service user engagement. You will be highly organised and ensure all client data is accurately entered into our Views database. All records of groups and activities will also be entered promptly onto the database. Additionally, you will complete all client Peer Support registrations to ensure client needs are assessed and positive outcomes are achieved through engagement with the Peer Support Services.

Refugee Council – Philanthropy Manager

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.  Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment.  Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system.  The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.

As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.

This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. The role will be responsible for delivering and creating bespoke development plans, supported by engaging cultivation and stewardship activities to secure increased funding from existing and new donors. Ataxia UK is looking for a skilled and dedicated Specialist Ataxia Nurse for our new community-based nursing service, focused on supporting individuals with ataxia in the South West of England. The role is a significant development in expanding access to expert and joined-up ataxia care for the ataxia community, particularly in regions currently underserved by neurologists with expertise in the ataxias. 

As a Specialist Ataxia Nurse, you will provide personalised, face-to-face, and remote support to patients, assisting them in navigating the NHS and social care systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting patients during medical appointments, coordinating essential therapies such as physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals to enhance understanding and treatment of ataxia. We are looking for an experienced nurse with a background in neurology or chronic disease management and a strong commitment to patient advocacy. The Global Center is seeking an early/mid-career professional to support capacity development programming that advances equitable collaboration between civil society, government, private sector, and multilateral actors to realize a more just and secure world.

Working under the supervision of colleagues addressing cross-cutting thematic and geographic programs, the successful candidate has a demonstrated passion for human rights, security, and development and is keen to contribute their skills to a diverse range of programs.

The position will initially support Global Center programs on rehabilitation and reintegration of former terrorism offenders in Bangladesh and Indonesia, as well as other Global Center projects relating to countering the financing of terrorism and other related issues. As needed, other engagements may include work to empower civil society, advance justice and good governance, and influence national, regional, and international security policy and practice.

Working alongside staff in London, Nairobi, New York, or DC you will collaborate with international experts, project partners, and funders to develop and implement programs globally, including regular travel to countries of operation.

Responsibilities will include a range of operational and administrative tasks in support of Global Center’s programs, including contributing to planning, delivery, evaluation and program activities; logistical planning, coordination, and execution of events and meetings; drafting and editing of project documents, correspondence, and meeting materials; data entry; note taking; research assistance; communication with partners, diplomats and vendors; database management and contacts maintenance; as well as other tasks as assigned.

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of an international, dynamic, and multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be assigned the following responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of project workplans, including inception phase consultations and capacity development activities.
• Collaborate with team members, expert-practitioners, project partners, and funders in the development and implementation of program activities.
• Assist with the cultivation and management of a network of local, regional, and international beneficiaries, experts, partners, and donors from government, community groups, and civil society organizations.
• Organize the administrative and logistical planning of activities, including the preparation of meeting materials, securing venues and equipment, and arranging transportation.
• Support effective financial management of program activities, including adherence to organizational procurement policies, expense reporting, management of vendor relationships, and processing of contractual and vendor payments with approval.
• Collect data and contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of program activities.
• Produce rigorous reporting on program developments, experience, lessons learned, challenges, and assess short, medium and long-term results.
• Contributes to research tasks as needed, including program background research, issue and policy analysis, and research components of publications as needed.
• Support fundraising and development efforts, including drafting components of concept notes and proposals and contributing to context analysis and program design.
• Collaborate on and assist with organization-wide priorities, including administrative support, research, internal and external meetings, and strategic reviews and evaluations as needed.
• International travel will be required.

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international relations, law, international development, criminology, sociology, security policy, or other related field is required.
• 2-5 years of professional experience is required.
• Excellent written communication skills are essential. Foreign language skills are desired, but not required.
• Experience interacting with internal and external contacts such as government and policymakers, civil society, and donors (experience in the Global South is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Must have authorization to work in the United Kingdom, Kenya, or the United States.

The Corporate & Public Engagement team in the Communications Directorate promotes corporate interest in the College and engages future medics and scientists in careers in pathology, particularly through our awareness activities, including National Pathology Week.

The main purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Corporate & Public Engagement Manager. This would involve booking meetings, drafting correspondence and tracking our budget. You will help to organise events and be responsible for collecting, collating, analysing and presenting feedback from them so we can introduce improvements. You will update our website, and post content on our social media channels to engage our audiences.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

The role

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Officer to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our partnerships with trusts, foundations and statutory givers. Working closely with the Trusts and Grants Manager and four more team members, this new role will lead on nurturing low and mid-value relationships with prospective funders who have capacity to give ongoing funding to FareShare.

As the cost of living crisis pushes millions into food insecurity, and the world is faced with a climate emergency, the difference you can make by joining the Trusts and Grants Team is substantial. The Trusts and Grants and Officer will take on the management and stewardship of a diverse portfolio of four and five-figure funding relationships, while developing new partnerships with a range of givers and leading on prospecting for certain areas of our funder portfolio.

Main areas of responsibility

Build relationships with a portfolio of four and five-figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.

Foster a deep understanding of FareShare’s work and strategy to create persuasive fundraising proposals that inspire and solicit funds. This includes working closely with colleagues in the wider Fundraising team to build a sound understanding of FareShare operations and where support is most needed.

Supporting with the team’s prospecting process, using your own research and sector knowledge to identify new opportunities from identification through to solicitation.

Lead the Trusts & Grants and wider Fundraising team on specific projects within FareShare’s work, collaborating with colleagues across the organisation to gather information to inform fundraising activities.

Develop personalised stewardship plans to deepen funder relationships. Craft compelling written communications including emails, proposals, and reports to showcase the impact of trust support and celebrate key milestones. Support on and lead calls, meetings and visits to strengthen funder partnerships and engagement with our work.

Support the Trusts & Grants Manager and wider team as needed, especially in instances where a complex funding application requires more than one team member to complete.

Maintain accurate records of partner interactions in our CRM system and shared files, and consistently update financial records and account plans.

Skills & Experience

• Charity sector, and ideally trust fundraising experience, with demonstrable success of managing relationships with trusts and foundations to secure multiple five figure grants.
• Experience of researching, identifying and engaging new prospects, and securing new funding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good persuasive writing and proof-reading ability.
• Experience of creative proposal writing, and the ability to demonstrate clear outcomes and impact.
• Experience of preparing and presenting budgets and ability to interpret charitable financial accounts.

• Proven ability to form good working relations, both internally and externally with people at all levels, and from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to multi-task and work on own initiative to meet objectives and tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a busy team.
• Excellent IT skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office programmes.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of using Salesforce or an equivalent Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for Fundraising.
• Interest in the impact of food waste on the environment.
• Interest in food poverty and its causes.
