· Playing a pivotal role in providing operational and strategic leadership in the financial management of SCIE

· Leading the Finance Team on all aspects of SCIE’s day-to-day financial operations to ensure financial health, long-term sustainability and compliance with polices, charity legislation and other relevant financial standards

· Leading on the process of preparing and setting budgets, financial forecasting and reporting, liaising closely with the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources and budget holders as appropriate

· Lead on the timely preparation and production of the monthly management accounts, ensuring income and expenditure is recognised accurately with appropriate, supporting audit documentation in place

· Lead on the critical undertaking of required financial due diligence approval checks against the raising of our client sales invoices, monthly payroll submissions, fortnightly BACS runs, cash flow management and bank reconciliations

· Leading on SCIE’s annual external audit, including the preparation of our statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with all relevant charity legislation, regulations and financial reporting standards

What we are looking for:

· Achievement of a recognised, fully qualified professional Accountancy qualification (for example, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) 

· A dynamic and experienced individual, with proven experience in a senior financial management role, ideally within the charity sector

· Proficient in preparing, analysing and presenting financial statements (income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff.

· Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making

· Proven IT skills, including a high-level proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, with a strong knowledge of Excel’s functions and formulas

· Proficient in financial management software and tools

Role Requirements

Reporting to the Senior Engineer the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will deliver an effective integrated maintenance service, aligned with HSE, Inspection Prevention Control, legislative requirements, CQC and Ofsted standards.

As part of the organization’s maintenance function, the Maintenance Engineer will provide planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, inspections, testing, building alteration and refurbishment works. They will also be required to provide technical and professional advice as necessary to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, to the required quality standard, on time, within budget constraints and in accordance with legal and statutory requirements.

These services will be provided at the Tadworth site and retail units in a shift pattern covering 7 days a week.

About you

Role Requirements

Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the Electrician will use their vast experience, skill, and knowledge from previous roles to deliver exceptional electrical maintenance to the estate, ensuring the efficient operation and safety of all electrical systems and associated items in compliance with current standards and regulations.

In addition to your primary responsibilities, you'll also be responsible for conducting Portable appliance  testing (PAT), quarterly RCD functionality checks, monthly emergency light tests, and an annual drop test on the estate's electrical systems. You'll also be tasked with generating minor works and electrical installation certificates for the completed tasks.

A qualification in inspection and testing will be essential for this position, demonstrating your proficiency in assessing electrical installations and systems. An approved Electrician with a ECS Gold card will be essential, reflecting your commitment to maintaining industry standards.

Furthermore, you won't solely focus on electrical tasks. To add variety to your day, you'll also be assigned other duties through the help desk. These tasks will diversify your workload and ensure your role remains dynamic and engaging.

Ensuring requirements of Children, young people, parents, staff and visitors are met at all times the role will support normal operations of the organisation, assisting with the supervision and monitoring of External contractors and any other duties that may be required.

The role holder will participate in a 7-day shift rota and out of hours call out to ensure a 24/7 coverage of the estate. The role will provide reciprocal cover of the maintenance and logistics department.

Royal Museums Greenwich is a collection of diverse historical sites. The sites are the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House. Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. We are a place to explore the sea, space, art and history, and our strategy ‘Charting Our Course’ puts people at the core of its success.

Working in the Engagement department and reporting to the Adults and Communities Participation Manager, the Communities Participation Producer will create a year-round public programme of activities inspired by the collections, themes and sites of Royal Museums Greenwich. Key responsibilities include producing and delivering programmes in collaboration with community partners and stakeholders to create relevant, inclusive and inspiring activity across the Museum’s multiple sites. The role will focus on creating activity that welcomes underrepresented audiences to Royal Museums Greenwich sites, developing trusted relationships in the process and responding to the social purpose of the organisation.

The role will develop programmes that connect communities and collections around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. This will involve working across generations to  facilitate dialogue around under-represented histories and current issues in a variety of formats including large scale public festivals, talks, workshops and more. The role will have a focus on developing participation opportunities for African and Caribbean and East and South-East Asian diaspora, as well as LGBTQ+ communities, to develop stronger connections with the collection and bring new perspectives to maritime history. This will involve audience research and internal dialogue to create supportive spaces and activity at Royal Museums Greenwich and contribute towards it becoming a more inclusive and representative organisation.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of delivering a range of inclusive cultural engagement provision for diverse audiences, including large-scale public events, and creating audience-led programmes for African and Caribbean/ East Asian/ South-East Asian diaspora communities. The postholder will have a track record of building strong partnerships with communities and stakeholders, along with experience of writing and producing resources and promotional materials for a range of target audiences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role, as is a passion for activating and supporting dialogue around the legacies of empire, queer histories and stories of migration. The postholder will be innovative, imaginative, creative and self-motivated; highly-organised, able to work to deadlines across multiple projects while managing a budget; and have the ability to undertake some evening and weekend working.

This is a full time, permanent role in Band 5 – Management and Proficient Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working 5 days between the hours of 9am-5pm. On occasion, some evening and weekend work is required.

Purpose of the job/About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team at Dementia UK, playing a key role in the administration, maintenance, reporting, and compliance of funds and fund accounting.

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for carrying out monthly balance sheet reconciliations, leading on all trading subsidiary matters, and ensuring charity tax compliance, including VAT and Corporation Tax, across the organisation. You will also support the year-end process, including the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts as well as assisting with the external audit.

In addition, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial governance by improving internal controls, configuring financial systems, and ensuring compliance with legal, VAT, and tax regulations. You will also produce accurate financial information to support decision-making, processing pump prime payments, setting up new suppliers, and managing purchase orders. Collaboration with the Finance Manager and Finance Business Partners will be key to ensuring accurate fund allocations for salaries and maintaining up-to-date reports for effective monitoring.

To succeed in this role, you will be either part-qualified in a UK professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or part qualified by experience, with 2-3 years of proven financial accounting experience. You will have a strong understanding of charity accounting, particularly the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP), and demonstrate expertise in managing donor/restricted funds, including reporting for major donors, trusts, and foundations. Additionally, you will bring proven experience in enhancing internal controls and improving system processes.

• Provide administrative support for the Safeguarding Leadership Team.

Administrative support for safeguarding activity 

• Work with the Safer Churches Programme Manager to provide day to day administrative support, working closely to ensure functions run smoothly.
• Work within national and diocesan safer churches policy and procedures as defined in the safer churches programme of work.
• Support the Safeguarding Advisors with safeguarding agreements and risk assessments as required.
• Provide effective administrative support, maintaining standards as required by the Diocese.
• Work with the Safer Churches Programme Manager to provide performance data to assist the regular reporting management information.

Training administration  

• Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the safeguarding training programme.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.
