About the role:

As a Local Policy Analyst, you will produce evidence-based policy analysis to support local co-operative growth, ensuring that local co-operatives and national stakeholders are actively involved in the policy-making process. You will assist local policymakers in transforming policy ambitions into impactful interventions, develop business cases, and design local programmes for cooperative development.

You will work within the Reclaiming Our Regional Economies (RORE) programme, which brings together communities and leaders to reform regional economies. Your role will involve collaborating with the RORE partnership and the organisation’s Policy Team to apply your expertise in developing effective policies and programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

Produce evidence-based policy analysis into effective ways to support local co-operative growth, including:

• Produce analysis of how co-operative growth could align with and contribute to the achievement of local priorities and strategies across different partners.
• Produce research and analysis on best practices and ‘what works’ in supporting local co-operative growth.
• Horizon scan for best practices, emerging issues and policy/legislative changes which are relevant to co-operative development and growth.

Ensure local co-operatives and national co-operative stakeholders are involved and empowered in the policymaking process, including:

• Facilitate co-productive policy design and development processes.
• Engage stakeholders in the policymaking process.

Support local policymakers in partner areas to turn policy ambition to support co-operative growth into impactful interventions and practice, including:

• Provide advice and guidance to local policymakers and practitioners on best practice approaches to developing interventions which support co-operative growth.
• Support partners to identify creative ways to overcome blocks and barriers to translating policy which supports co-operative growth into practice.

Help develop business cases and design local programmes and interventions for co-operative growth, including:

• Produce engaging and clear written resources including workshop materials, reports, presentations and guidance materials, as needed.
• Conduct thematic or other analysis of data to inform the development of an evidence base.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will be enthusiastic about the organisation and its mission, and you will have experience of working at a place-based level, such as within local government, local infrastructure or the community/VCSE sector.

• Experience in evidence-based policy analysis, research and development, including analyzing qualitative and quantitative data and presenting insights.
• Able to understand, communicate, review and synthesize information generated from quantitative research, data and evidence.
• Knowledge of local economic development and diverse business forms such as co-operatives, social enterprise and third-sector.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to a wide range of audiences, including local government and project partners.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a communications role (or related field) along with excellent written skills. You will be working to develop press releases and build relations with relevant contacts and journalists and as such we require excellent communication and networking skills. You will have a strong track record of delivering engaging social media content across different channels and audiences to support organisational priorities. Experience of using creative software such as Illustrator, Premiere, Canva and Photoshop will be an advantage as well as possessing basic video editing skills. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

Young Care leavers are some of the most vulnerable young people in our society; many leave school with few qualifications and a significant number are unemployed, living in inadequate housing, and experience poor health and levels of poverty. Nationally 25% of female care leavers become parents between 16 -18 years of age and 50% by the age of 24.

Adjusting to parenthood must happen simultaneously whilst they are still in the process of transitioning out of care or adapting to independent living. Coping with the stressful demands of learning to take care of themselves and a baby at such a young age, whilst often still struggling to make sense of unstable, often chaotic childhoods, can leave little space for engaging with services in the wider community. Instead, many care leavers struggle with poor self-esteem. Isolated and lonely, they may lack the confidence, social skills and social network to join new parenting groups in their community.

Additionally, time spent in the care system can make care leavers reluctant to ask for and accept support. Becoming a parent can be the most rewarding experience in the world, but all parents need support networks to thrive as a family.

The post of Parent Coordinator is an established role. The role is to take full responsibility for certain aspects of the projects work, as detailed below. All duties are to be carried out in line with current operating policies and procedures and any procedures of the partnership agency. We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services Team. A small, dedicated team of Lawyers central to the work of Mencap across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work closely with Mencap’s Teams and Directorates across the organisation to ensure that they operate safely and securely, and providing advice on complex issues.

At Mencap, we offer flexibility about where the role is undertaken. For this role, a presence in Peterborough is preferable where possible, but the individual would be required to attend team meetings in our Peterborough office once a month. Occasionally, it will be necessary to travel nationwide.

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial contracts and documentation, advice and assistance to support all Directorates across Mencap, as part of Mencap’s internal procurement process and Fundraising Teams. 

The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to work with different Teams and Directorates across Mencap to draft suitable and robust commercial contracts (including IT contracts); and standard terms and conditions; or review third party’s contracts and terms.  Similarly, will be required to negotiate contracts and provide advice for the Fundraising Teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and radar scanning for changes in law which impacts fundraising.

The Senior Legal Advisor will represent the Legal Services Team on a number of Panels and Committees, such as the Procurement Panel, and would be the lead point of contact with the Legacy Team.

Qualifications:

For this role you would need to be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practise in England (or comparable jurisdiction) preferably holding a practising certificate. Previous in-house experience would be viewed positively.

Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:

· 5+ years PQE and experience in commercial contract law

· Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

· Solid awareness of GDPR provisions

· Experience and good technical expertise in contract law and IT agreements

· Experience and good technical expertise in and awareness of regulation effecting fundraising agreements would be beneficial

· Analytical thinker and problem-solving skills.

Livingstone Tanzania Trust (LTT) was set up in 2007. Working with a team of three LTT employees, as well as Trustees and supporters the key objectives of the Partnerships team is to:

1. Support our ambitious vision: a quality, inclusive education for every child in Tanzania.
2. Plan; manage; deliver; monitor and maintain oversight of LTT’s Trust and Foundation fundraising portfolio, activities and opportunities. Target is to raise in excess of £300,000 per annum from UK and International Trusts, Foundations, other Institutional Donors and individuals in 2025-6 and increase by £40,000 a year thereafter. 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

This position will focus on sourcing and developing potential national and international funders who provide single and multi-year grants in excess of £10,000 including those who do not accept unsolicited grants.

Duties include:

• Develop and manage opportunity pipelines of prospective funders, planning introductions.
• Write compelling, concise, well-presented, tailored approaches and grant applications in Word and Canva.
• Liaise with the Operations team, to gather the relevant information for grant applications (e.g. data, case studies, imagery etc).
• Ensure systems are kept up to date with all details of grant application documents, progress and outcomes and any other interactions with funders.
• Work with partners in Tanzania to offer them support and guidance 
• Draft programme reports for projects for which you have raised funds.
• Contribute with other team members to the organisational budgeting process, by producing a detailed breakdown of opportunities and likelihood of success.
• Contribute to production of key external documents which may impact Trust and Foundation fundraising e.g. Annual Report & Accounts, Impact Report.
• Attend team meetings at least twice a year
• Attend relevant third-party events/training as required.
• Attend and assist with some LTT fundraising events.
• Other related duties as required.

Key Requirements

• Knowledgeable and passionate about International Development/Education
• Understanding and respectful of cultural differences.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a grant fundraising role, with a successful track record of regularly securing 4 and 5 figure grants.
• Knowledge of funding databases and other sources of potential funders.
• Ability to absorb, collate and organise large amounts of information from different sources/channels.
• Ability to select and distil programme information to develop a core message for target funders, aligned to their specific interests.
• Persuasive writing skills – weaving powerful stories with clear evidence of programme impacts.

Responsibilities

Strategic development and implementation

• Develop and oversee an effective PR communications strategy, including business/trade press and public affairs (EU and UN advocacy), based on ProVeg’s strategic principles, impact areas and global interventions.

• Be accountable for the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organisation’s PR activities.

• Create relations with key media outlets to increase visibility and dissemination opportunities

• Develop media relations and build relationships with PR contacts to continuously grow our impact.

• Secure media opportunities for the Senior Leadership and Executive Team and the Global CEO.

• Oversee and ensure the management of positive relationships with the media and relevant change agents, and external colleagues.

• Develop and update, as needed, clear guidance (e.g., core messaging and brand narrative) for the communications team to ensure public communications are aligned with ProVeg’s organisational strategy and communications approach.

• Increase ProVeg International’s profile, particularly in broadcast media, enhance the organisation’s credibility and inspire supporters and other stakeholders through the use of engaging communications.

• Safeguard the organisation’s brand by overseeing and managing the development of crisis communications plans and advising on emerging issues and PR risks and opportunities. 

• Liaise with the Global CEO and the Senior Leadership Team on strategic communication alignment and/or adjustments, and coordinate and ensure synergies in terms of quality control, key messages, templates, strategies, etc. 

Management and leadership

• Model excellence in (remote) team management by motivating, coaching, giving, and receiving feedback, supporting and developing teams and skills, and driving innovation and creativity.

• Advise and work with colleagues across the organisation, to ensure we maximise opportunities to raise awareness, influence, and deepen engagement with our audiences in order to support a variety of objectives.

Budget and resource management and evaluation

• Manage a dedicated budget for effective reporting and forecasting.

• Produce timely and regular management information for leadership that effectively explains performance set against OKRs, KPIs and the broader strategic plan. 

Qualifications

Required:

• An excellent understanding of the plant-based and alternative protein sector and knowledge of food systems change.

• A successful track record (5+ years) in journalism (print or broadcast), marketing, or public affairs, developing and delivering strategic objectives across a range of communications channels.

• Strong track record in PR (including broadcast), marketing and/or organisational branding.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, English to native level (or C1).

• Excellent networking skills and experience in building productive relationships with key media stakeholders and influencers.

• Strong project management skills.

• Ability to juggle a varied workload, delegate effectively and contribute as a team player.

• Strong team management skills and a commitment to motivating and empowering a team remotely in order to achieve their goals.

• High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills – externally and internally; ability to balance diverse interests of different teams.

How would you contribute to Cycle Sisters’ mission? 

Cycle Sisters has grown hugely over the past few years, with an expanded range of programmes and activity. We are keen to continue this journey of growth and have just finalised a new strategy for 2024-2027 which prioritises reaching more women and girls, and ensuring our financial sustainability.

The Fundraising Lead will play a critical role in supporting our ‘sustainability' strategic priority to ensure Cycle Sisters can access the resources it needs to keep making a difference.   This post-holder will lead on growing Cycle Sisters’ unrestricted income, with a focus on community fundraising and corporate partnerships.

The post-holder will need to be an excellent networker, confident in representing the organisation externally and able to motivate a range of stakeholders to financially support Cycle Sisters’ work.

What would you be doing?

Below is a list of responsibilities which provide a broad outline of the role.   This is not an exhaustive list as Cycle Sisters is a small team which requires flexibility.

This is a new part-time role and we will work with the successful candidate to develop a workplan which is realistic within the hours available.   There will also be support from other team members on some of the areas of work.

General responsibilities 

• Develop strategies to achieve income targets across the areas outlined below 

• Ensure all fundraising initiatives are properly planned, delivered, monitored and evaluated.   All activities should be conducted in adherence to best practice, Cycle Sisters’ ethical policy and charity law. 

• Represent the organisation externally including networking, delivering presentations and speaking at events 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to create compelling fundraising messages and materials for a range of audiences 

• Work collaboratively with other team members in Cycle Sisters to maximise all opportunities for fundraising 

Individual Giving and Community Fundraising 

• Oversee event/challenge fundraising, liaising closely with volunteer fundraisers to maximise income and ensure fundraisers feel valued and appreciated 

• Work with the Communications & Media Lead to ensure donors feel valued and appreciated 

• Develop and implement a regular giving strategy, helping us to progress donors from one-off to regular giving

• Work with the CEO to develop a “membership” scheme to generate regular income from Cycle Sisters’ participant network with incentives and benefits for members 

• Work with an external agency to secure income through digital fundraising 

Corporate Fundraising 

Working closely with the CEO: 

• Develop relationships with existing corporate partners, ensuring partners feel valued and are receiving regular updates

• Research and identify new corporate fundraising prospects.  Develop relationships through networking and representing Cycle Sisters externally.

• Create tailored packages to secure in-kind and financial support from corporate partners 

• Develop ideas for earned income services for corporate partners e.g. led rides

• Possess a Juris Doctor (JD) and be licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

• Have significant experience in nonprofit law, including the development, review, and negotiation of contracts, compliance with relevant regulations, and governance.
