I am delighted to be working with a fantastic charity in search of an Interim Finance Manager. This is a full-time, London based hybrid role for 6-months. As Finance Manager you will have responsibility for primarily the management accounts of the Charity. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, the Head of Foundation and the rest of the Senior Leadership team to ensure that the Charity is financially controlled and effectively and efficiently managed in all areas of operation.

The Finance Manager is ‘hands-on’ leading and managing on the Foundation targets set out within the Foundation’s five year ‘Grow & Improve’ strategy. He/she works across all of the Foundation’s operations team and the Business team to ensure that all parts of the Charity are well managed and financially controlled, building the base on which the Foundation can continue to thrive and grow.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts on a timely basis and assistance with the timely preparation of the Finance Report for the regular Trustee meetings.

Assist to ensure that the Charity complies with all financial, reporting and record keeping requirements.

Assist with compliance issues with the Charity Commission and Companies House and associated regulations.

Support the development and implementation of the ‘Grow and Improve’ strategy, in close partnership with the Senior Finance Manager, Head of Foundation and the Senior Leadership Team with an ability to challenge ideas.

A Finance expert, who can support peers and staff to develop their financial competencies, while ensuring staff feel valued and respected to excel in their roles.

You demonstrate the business acumen and relationship building skills to financially manage and control the Charity including assistance with the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts and to manage the day to day financial transactions.

You have the skills and experience to manage and maintain the necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management on a cost effective basis.

Support on the writing of grant applications and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in major donor engagement, building network identities, network development, managing communities and project management. What you’ll be doing (Key Responsibilities):

1. Fundraising Strategy Implementation:

• Support the Director of Strategic Development to develop and refine fundraising and partnership goals and objectives.

• Execute the organisation’s fundraising strategy, working as part of the Development Team towards a shared target, with a focus on major gifts.

• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, populating the organisation’s pipeline, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and project needs 

• Work with team members in each area of the organisation to develop a strong model for donor collaboration linked to impact.

• Monitor market insights and adapt to fundraising trends and donor behaviours.

2. Strive Network Management and Development/ Donor Community Development:

• Lead the management and growth of a mission-aligned network, engaging high-net-worth individuals, including those who participate in Strive Challenges.

• Develop and implement strategies to deepen relationships within the Strive Network, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

• Work with our comms and marketing team to develop the donor network’s shared purpose, vision statement, brand identity and visibility.

• Oversee the careful research, qualification and stewarding of new partnerships that will help to enrich and evolve the Strive network towards inclusivity and participatory approaches.

• Co-develop value propositions with existing members of the Network to encourage others to join the group.

• Create opportunities for the Strive Network to connect with and add value to our community of changemakers on the ground (eg. mentoring, connections, follow on funding).

3. Major Donor Engagement:

• Lead on relationship management with existing major donors, designing tailored stewardship and ensuring ongoing engagement.

• Review, evaluate and further develop key touchpoints with major donors, collaborating with team members across the organisation and other funders where appropriate.

• Accountable for the identification, cultivation, and welcoming of new major donor prospects, with a focus on diversifying and expanding the Strive Network beyond its current reach.

• Oversee the production of personalised proposals, presentations and reports, sparking ongoing engagement with the network and linking their contributions to Big Change’s community and impact.

• Work closely with the Director of Strategic Development in managing high-profile donor relationships and securing multi-year commitments.

3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.

• Work closely with other teams at Big Change to ensure alignment between fundraising activities and organisational needs.

• Develop, inspire, motivate others to fulfil their potential and foster collaboration across Big Change and its community

4. Data Management and Reporting:

• Working closely with the senior leadership team, track and report fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in all pipeline development activities.

• Oversee the management of donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising activities.

• Track and analyse engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.

• Responsible for compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in fundraising activities.

Art Fund is the UK’s national fundraising charity for art. We give grants to help museums, galleries, historic houses and public arts organisations to acquire objects for their collections, to share them with as many people as possible, and to support research and training for museum professionals. The role

As a key member of the National Art Pass marketing team, you will help develop and deliver integrated, multi-channel campaigns that drive awareness, consideration, and conversion among the UK's diverse culture-seeking audiences.

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in executing marketing programs across earned, owned, and paid channels, including fostering effective partnerships with other brands. Your role will involve managing creative and media agencies to ensure that all marketing activities are delivered on-time, on-brand, and within budget. CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.

 Engagement & Reporting  

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team. 

• Ensure that all aspects of the Leadership Team and Board meetings are organised and conducted effectively in line with CAFOD’s governance principles. 

• Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team 

• Developing a plan for the production of CAFOD’s Annual Trustees Report, and project manage its delivery.

• Assist with the external communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors and supporters.

Team Leadership  

• Providing management/mentoring to the Leadership & Governance Assistant where applicable.

• Working with the Leadership & Governance Officer in planning a governance work programme for 2025. 

• Provide guidance and oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget.

Senior Legal Advisor (Procurement & Fundraising)

We have an exciting full-time, permanent opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services Team. A small, dedicated team of Lawyers central to the work of Mencap across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work closely with Mencap’s Teams and Directorates across the organisation to ensure that they operate safely and securely, and providing advice on complex issues.

At Mencap, we offer flexibility about where the role is undertaken. For this role, a presence in Peterborough is preferable where possible, but the individual would be required to attend team meetings in our Peterborough office once a month. Occasionally, it will be necessary to travel nationwide.

The Senior Legal Advisor will provide high quality commercial contracts and documentation, advice and assistance to support all Directorates across Mencap, as part of Mencap’s internal procurement process and Fundraising Teams. 

The Senior Legal Advisor will be required to work with different Teams and Directorates across Mencap to draft suitable and robust commercial contracts (including IT contracts); and standard terms and conditions; or review third party’s contracts and terms.  Similarly, will be required to negotiate contracts and provide advice for the Fundraising Teams, and ensuring regulatory compliance and radar scanning for changes in law which impacts fundraising.

The Senior Legal Advisor will represent the Legal Services Team on a number of Panels and Committees, such as the Procurement Panel, and would be the lead point of contact with the Legacy Team.

Qualifications:

For this role you would need to be a Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practise in England (or comparable jurisdiction) preferably holding a practising certificate. Previous in-house experience would be viewed positively.

Essential key skills, experience & abilities required for this role:

· 5+ years PQE and experience in commercial contract law

· Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

· Solid awareness of GDPR provisions

· Experience and good technical expertise in contract law and IT agreements
