Antill Road is a day service for adults and young people with a range of complex needs including severe learning and physical disabilities, complex healthcare and behavioural needs. In your role as a Support Worker at Antill Road, you will be required to support our customers to take part in a range of fulfilling and meaningful daytime activities both at Antill Road and in the community whilst ensuring that their health, wellbeing and educational needs are met. This will include providing physical, emotional and social care. What you'll do:

Supporting people with complex disabilities to take part in a range of learning, leisure, health and wellbeing-based activities during daytime hours, with some occasional flexibility required on an out of hours basis
Supporting customers to access leisure and learning-based opportunities both at Antill Road and in the community in line with their individualised activity plan
Supporting each customer in the delivery of their prescribed health, physio, nutritional and sensory routines with guidance from / in partnership with external healthcare professionals

•  This is an exciting opportunity to help Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank realise its ambition of distribute emergency food whilst working with partner organisations and improving signposting in order to ensure people get the help they need to address their underlying cause of crisis.
• In order to realise this ambition, meet current need for our services and maintain a sustainable organisation, we need to grow our annual fundraised income/turnover.  
• Through this new organisational part-time role, you’ll proactively fundraising income, reach and support from grant giving trusts and foundations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Through excellent, comprehensive and considered research, you’ll identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations funders for Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank. You’ll forge relationships with those funders, develop and submit timely and winning funding applications.
• Working with colleagues across Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank, you’ll develop authentic, compelling, creative and winning funding applications and partnership proposals.
•  You’ll manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and foundations funders, ensuring they receive excellent stewardship, timely reporting and doing all you can maximising potential for further funding.
•  You’ll also work collaboratively with other local Trussell Trust food banks and identify, propose and progress opportunities for joint funding applications.
•  You’ll help secure funding from local businesses by responding to enquiries with proposals for how those local businesses can best support Kensington & Chelsea Food Bank.
• You will develop, monitor and manage a trusts fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess per annum. You’ll establish a trusts fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• Oversee and assist as needed the Foodbank Project Manager and Volunteer Manager to:

1.  Maintain relationships with key local stakeholders and identify fundraising opportunities and helping with other community relationships as needed.
2. Further develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies.

• Generate content to promote the work of the food bank, encourage donations through social media, regular foodbank newsletters and contact with corporate Volunteers.  

Skills

Role overview

This key role manages our flagship and award-winning project supporting refugees with IT Hardware. The project collects IT Hardware, refurbishes and repairs it through our network of technicians, matches it with a suitable recipient through our referral process and then distributes it to charities and individual refugees and asylum seekers at no cost to the recipient. The project is in its third year, in which it will grow to overseeing e-waste collection and tech re-sale.

This role has two central arms: project management and volunteer management. 

Overall management of the project includes key decision-making on tech refurbishment and distribution, building and maintaining key partnerships, impact reporting, staff management, external representation, developing and recording institutional memory and supporting the project's strategic growth with support from the Director. The postholder will be responsible for working with their team to maintain the smooth running of the project and deliver the project outcomes. They will deputise for the Director where necessary.

Volunteer management predominantly looks like the recruitment, coordination, training and retention of technical volunteers, many of whom are asylum seeking graduates of our tech training course. The post holder will be the go-to person for the volunteers and provide technical and management support with the help of our Technical Lead. 

We know good project managers have a variety of skills and experience. We are not running a personal specification, but the strongest applications will indicate staff management experience and basic knowledge of IT repair.

Outcome 1 - Manage the Digital Access project and the team working to deliver its outcomes 

• Oversee the logistics and operations involved in collecting, storing and redistributing large quantities of IT Hardware, including the distribution of Data SIM cards to recipients with support from your team.

• Work with the Engagement Manager to identify and communicate with businesses, individuals and other sources of IT Hardware to explain our process and the impact of the project.

• Oversee the smooth running of and improvements to the referral process through which charity partners and individual refugees apply for and receive devices.

• Ensure the project goals are delivered on time and within budget.

• Provide thoughtful and kind management of the Operations Coordinator and Operations Assistant, meeting regularly and supporting their development.

• Record the institutional memory of the project through a digital guide to the processes and learnings which constitute the Digital Access programme. 

• Ensure everyone at Screen Share who engages with the project does so in line with our safeguarding and privacy policies.

Outcome 2 - Monitor, evaluate and communicate the impact of our device provision 

• Collate and present service user and device data (e.g use-case, age, geography) on a monthly and quarterly basis which represents our impact on the ground for internal and external audiences.

• Lead on the measurement of our impact through collection of case studies and distribution of our feedback form.

• Critically analyse and improve our impact measurement process to ensure it is ethical and fit for purpose.

• Work directly with service users, the Director and Communications team to produce compelling stories of the impact of Screen Share’s provision, with particular focus on our annual impact report.

Outcome 3 - Coordinate tech volunteers, external repair partners and technical staff (tech agents) to secure a regular flow of repair and refurbishment

• Oversee the process by which tech agents request and receive parts for the refurbishment process (hardware, software and tools).

• Work with our Technical Lead to ensure tech agents are provisioning devices consistently across our suite.

• Ensure the smooth implementation of changes to our technical provision.

• Critically analyse and improve the way in which the repair and refurbishment process is technically facilitated and recorded.

• Design and Deliver a tech volunteer retention strategy.

• Ensure our repair and refurbishment costs do not exceed our budget.

• Conduct in-person reviews with tech agents to monitor their progress and provide quality assurance. 

• Explain our process to prospective repair partners and onboard them onto our system.

Outcome 4 - Recruit, train and support new technical volunteers

• Design and implement a nationwide technical volunteer recruitment and retention strategy which establishes a regular flow of technical volunteers into Screen Share, including and especially volunteers from an asylum seeking background and those who have graduated from our training course.

• Facilitate tech volunteer onboarding including external references, interviews and safeguarding.

• Coordinate and lead monthly volunteer tech team meetings. 

• Explore partnerships with local tech businesses or refugees for paid refurbishment.

• Run basic laptop refurbishment refresher training for new volunteers in need of support.

Outcome 5  - Ensure Screen Share tech agent records are kept up to date

• Ensure the tech agent base is kept up to date at all times with all necessary details to facilitate refurbishment 

• Ensure contact logs are maintained for each tech agent in accordance with GDPR legislation and that holidays/preferences/issues are recorded

• Ensure the right staff can access notes on 1:1’s with tech volunteers 

• Analyse tech agent data thematically, implementing adjustments on a regular basis 

Outcome 6 - Contribute to the strategic development of the project and ensure the Director receives appropriate support 

• Represent the project to prospective partners, local councils and at public events, increasing its visibility within the refugee and tech sector.

• Design and implement experiments to test assumptions, minimise risk and scale the project.

ABOUT GLAN

The Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) works with affected communities to pursue innovative legal actions across borders to challenge states and other powerful actors involved in human rights violations and systemic injustice. Our actions address the most pressing instances of human rights concern and they fall within the following themes: War and occupation; accountability and supply chains; environmental and economic justice; and migration and border violence.

Since our establishment in 2016, we have developed legal strategies directly addressing human rights impacts in over 23 countries and territories. Our cases include the successful legal challenge against imports of cotton produced with forced labour in Xinjiang (East Turkistan) into the UK on behalf of World Uyghur Congress and the climate case against 32 European States before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights, brought on behalf of six Portuguese youth-applicants.

More recently, we have supported the preeminent Palestinian human rights organisation Al Haq, to rapidly challenge UK weapons exports to Israel due to the risk of these arms being used in violations of international law. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Strategic Communications at GLAN, you will spearhead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that amplifies GLAN's mission and impact on a global scale.

This is an exciting time to join GLAN. We are seeking a Head of Strategic Communications to build an ambitious communications strategy focused on some of the biggest human rights and climate change issues of our time. Communications Strategy

About the role:

We are seeking a new Head of Business and Operations to play a crucial role in supporting the Head to review and drive continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities in the role will include:

1. Finances: You will oversee and manage all finances and a multi million pound budget for the school.
2. Human Resources: This will include leading on people strategy, workforce planning and performance management including evaluating the schools operational model.

Main Roles

• To provide advice and casework at OISC Level 2/3 on immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• To provide supervision to Immigration Volunteer

Specific Duties

• Manage a complex caseload across the field of immigration, nationality and asylum law.
• Adhere to casework procedures as outlined in LRMN’s policies, the OISC and / or Solicitors Regulations Authority (SRA) standards and the Advice Quality Standards (AQS).
• Interview and advise clients regarding immigration and asylum law procedure, and practice in a sensitive and professional manner.
• Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with OISC registration or similar professional body, e.g SRA.
• Keep up to date at all times with changes in the law by reading and attending training events relating to asylum and immigration.
• To maintain accurate and detailed case records of clients for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval and statistical monitoring, using Advice Pro as appropriate and as required by management.
• Advocate on behalf of clients by telephone, letter and email with appropriate agencies.
• Produce reports to meet funder’s and LRMN requirements.
• Work closely with the Immigration Manager and/or external evaluator in gathering data and information to produce accurate monitoring and evaluation reports.
• To assist the LRMN in liaising with its partners, funders and to provide statistical information and updates as required.
• Work closely with the Immigration Manager in reviewing files and ensure that corrective actions are undertaken.
• Provide regular supervision to Iimmigration volunteers.
• Allocate immigration tasks appropriate volunteers’ knowledge and skills.
• Keep records of supervision meetings with immigration volunteers

Other Duties

• To participate in LRMN staff meetings, maintaining a high level of professionalism and contributing skills and knowledge towards best practice for the organisation.
• To develop partnerships and attend external meetings relevant to the work of information and advice in general and immigration in particular.
• To attend supervision and appraisal meetings and other relevant activities.

Step Up Hub

Established in 1996, Step Up Hub is a grassroots charity in the London Borough of Brent dedicated to addressing the root causes and consequences of poverty and inequality within disadvantaged communities, especially within the global majority. It offers an array of services covering welfare, education, training and skills development, as well as on mental health, cost of living, and physical wellbeing. It adopts a whole village approach in its work and values working together to secure a shared sustainable future for all.

‘I AM Brent’ consortium

Step Up Hub leads a consortium, known as I AM Brent, that consists of six well-respected local charities who are working together to address the root causes and effects of violence affecting young people in the London Borough of Brent.

Programme Description

The programme is part of the Mayor of London’s flagship violence reduction programme, known as MyEnds. It is a place-based violence reduction initiative that adopts a public health approach. The consortium is providing an array of positive opportunities for young people and support for families, including through tailored interventions. The programme also aims to improve statutory and voluntary organisation networks and access to referral, and to ensure the voices of young people and community members are built into provision. The work is focused on the Church Road Estate, Stonebridge Estate, St Raphael’s Estate, Chalkhill Estate and Harlesden Town Centre areas.

The Role of the Programme Manager

The Programme Manager will act as the glue between consortium members and provide a key link with statutory bodies, voluntary organisations, and the community. The Programme Manager will be responsible for supporting consortium members with project deliverables where necessary, optimising the integration of provision, overseeing referrals, and brokering community partnerships. The Programme Manager will also schedule meetings and shared activities, provide secretarial support, and represent Step Up Hub and the consortium at relevant meetings.

In addition, the Programme Manager will:

· be responsible for line management of two other Step Up Hub staff members working on I AM Brent programme deliverables, a Network and Communication Lead and a Community Engagement Lead,

· manage, report on, monitor and evaluate the progress of interventions,

· report to VRU, attend VRU meetings, and cascade relevant information from the VRU to consortium members,

· be responsible for engaging stakeholders and community partners, identifying and leveraging their skills, expertise and assets, and leading on youth and community forums

· help engender an environment of trust and collaboration to support stakeholders and community partners engage positively with Step Up Hub and the consortium,

· manage a grant pot and support the delivery of small projects that are funded from it,

· work to actively promote the consortium and Step Up Hub’s activities, as per the organisational guidelines, through producing publicity materials and written reports for regular newsletters and by keeping the website updated,

· coordinate and monitor project budgets, working alongside the finance officer as required,

· ensure that safeguarding is central to the service delivery and is systemically built into case management processes,

· ensure equality of opportunity is embedded in all service delivery by Step Up Hub and consortium partners,

· provide secretarial services for the project steering group, progress meetings and small grants awarding panel.

The programme manager will be supported by the Step Up Hub senior leadership team and consortium partners on all aspects of programme delivery.

We are looking for an experienced Fundraising Events Co-ordinator to assist in the smooth running and successful management of our well established and growing events portfolio. Working with our dynamic events team you will be instrumental in ensuring that all World Jewish Relief events are of the highest standard and delivered with immaculate care and precision. This role is critical in ensuring that World Jewish Relief continues to grow and engage a wide-ranging audience, raising funds in support of our inspirational projects and programmes worldwide.

 You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the events team in the planning, coordinating, administration and delivery of World Jewish Relief events including our flagship Annual Dinner.
• Managing and leading on the planning of smaller engagement and fundraising events both in person and online.
• Supporting and overseeing World Jewish Relief’s Young Committee by assisting with the delivery of their events and attending committee meetings
• Liaising with colleagues and partners to organise supporter Insight Trips: creating itineraries, booking transport and managing all details.
• Supporting and assisting donors who are planning events to raise funds for World Jewish Relief.
• Working with the communications team to organise World Jewish Relief’s participation at communal events and attend these events.
• Managing and leading on stewardship of World Jewish Relief runners in the London Marathon and other challenge event activities.
• Working with the fundraising and marketing team to launch and deliver a new fundraising initiative supporting World Jewish Relief's Home Repairs programmes in Ukraine.

You should have:

• Proven experience in event planning, coordination and delivery to a high standard, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Demonstrable knowledge of event fundraising techniques and sector trends.
• Experience using a database (ideally Raiser’s Edge) to the highest level, both to record and analyse information.
• Experience in successfully managing numerous priorities at one time, meeting tight and non-negotiable deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Excellent administrative skills, impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to use your own initiative, make quick and independent decisions where necessary and to work under pressure.
