Title: Crisis at Christmas Locum Outreach Worker (Day Centres)

A fantastic locum opportunity for skilled Outreach workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers.

A fantastic locum opportunity for support workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers. You will be working with guests in Crisis at Christmas hotel accommodation to establish move-ons and next steps after the project closes.
Whilst it is not possible to find an immediate housing solution for everyone in the hotels, we aim to give advice and next steps to every guest who stays with us. The Crisis at Christmas project benefits from huge support from the GLA and local authorities, drug & alcohol services and SIAS immigration lawyers from each of the 5 subregions. There is a huge opportunity at Christmas to engage clients who do not usually connect with services, and this is reflected in the offers of support they receive.

Peer Support Group Development Officer - Midlands Area

Overview:
Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
- Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
- Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
- Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Project Management: Proven skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Volunteer Management: Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in community settings. Knowledge of best practices in volunteer management.
- Influencing: Experience of influencing a wide range of partners and stakeholders, and in particular clinicians and voluntary and community providers within the health and wellbeing community.

About the role
The SPOT team are looking for multiple committed individuals who want to work within a street outreach team tasked with reducing rough sleeping in Southwark. This role is challenging and rewarding, for both an experienced worker who wants the autonomy and flexibility to find creative solutions or as a development role for a worker that wants to learn outreach skills and is keen to work with clients at a point where their need is acute. You will be expected to work with clients in a variety of settings and being a rough sleeper team will require an ability to do some shifts starting at 6am and others finishing at 2am.
In this role you will:
- Conduct outreach alongside a range of partners and proactively assess those found to rapidly access housing, health services and treatment
- Manage a caseload of clients suffering multiple disadvantage where there are significant barriers to rapidly accessing accommodation and services requiring relationship building and a thoughtful approach to making incremental change.
- Have an opportunity to work with a truly diverse group of clients and needs, assisting them to meaningfully change their lives for the better
For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm and 8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.
About you
The successful candidate will be a strong good communicator who can engage with clients in a range of settings. They will also be adaptable to challenges relating to communication, be it language barriers, cultural differences or working with those who are neuro-diverse. Thisincludes the ability to convey concepts to people in a simple way that can be easily understood.
In addition, the successful candidate will have some experience of client case management and the resilience to achieve and meet agreed outcomes paired with the ability to work remotely and lone work with vulnerable people.

We have a vacancy for a Flourish (Refugee and Asylum Seekers) Community Outreach Worker to join our team, supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health as a primary need, through providing advice, information and holistic support.
About the Service
‘Flourish’ is a highly flexible and responsive outreach service developed to meet the needs of refugees and asylum seekers in Hertfordshire. The aim of the service will be to support refugees and asylum seekers in the community with multiple needs who have mental health support as a primary need.
Purpose of Post
- To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with mental ill health.
- Support to build social networks and reduce isolation whilst settling into the Hertfordshire community this includes building a sustainable and empowering peer support network and building confidence and self-esteem.
- To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
- To work in a trauma informed way including awareness of the 6 principles of trauma informed practice, putting the clients emotional and practical needs at the forefront of this work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with all key delivery partners across the system to ensure the service is responsive, inclusive and easy to access.
- To take allocated referrals from any agencies including the Community Navigators, Borough and District Councils, Herts Help, Housing Providers, Herts Welcomes Refugees, the Refugee Council and self-referrals including walk in contacts at any of the Mind wellbeing centres across the county.
- Hold a caseload of clients, supporting for approx. 10 weeks
- To create a safe space for the individual to be able to explore their feelings and improve their understanding around their mental health.
- To complete a holistic needs assessment.
- Ensure all person centred risk assessments and support plans are completed.
- Proactively recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitate appropriate action, whilst liaising with relevant agencies.
- Support clients to build their emotional resilience, promoting self-management through building an understanding of their own triggers/coping strategies.
- To provide safeguarding intervention support. This will include responding to problems, which pose an immediate risk.
- To work alongside translators when required to provide a robust package of support for clients.
- To accompany clients to initial visits and appointments as necessary in order to ensure the sustained use of existing support services in the Borough.
- To provide advocacy services to clients experiencing mental ill health.
- To assist clients to access appropriate mental health services, housing/tenancy services and other services according to assessed needs.
- To establish effective pathways across a variety of agencies to maximise and provide effective partnership working, working with other third sector and VCSE organisations to provide signposting and continuity of care.

As a Part-Time Youth Violence Reduction Youth Worker, you will support the Youth Violence Reduction Lead in managing and developing programs aimed at reducing youth violence. You will play a crucial role in the late-night safe-space sessions, working closely with at-risk young people to provide them with the support and guidance they need.
We are looking to recruit up to three candidates for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Program Management: Assist in managing and developing youth violence reduction programs, ensuring they are delivered effectively and safely.
- Community Engagement: Help build and maintain relationships with local partners, community services, and external stakeholders to promote the program and foster collaboration.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Assist in recording, monitoring, and evaluating program activities, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Training & Supervision: Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and staff supervision to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Qualifications/Experience
- Essential:
- Experience working with challenging and vulnerable young people.
- Experience supporting or managing youth-focused programs or interventions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with young people and colleagues.
- Desirable:
- Experience in community outreach or working in similar settings.
- An awareness of issues affecting local communities in London.
- Full UK Driving License.

We’re looking for passionate and dedicated Project Worker to join our Complex Needs Services in Camden. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team providing tailored support to clients with multiple and complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance use, offending behaviour, and physical health issues. Using a Biopsychosocial model and working within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE), you will deliver high-quality, holistic support to help clients achieve stability and move forward in their lives.
Role responsibilities will include;
- Providing personalised support to clients with multiple disadvantage, including poly-substance misuse, mental health concerns, and histories of trauma.
- Conducting needs and risk assessments, and work collaboratively to develop and implement support plans.
- Promoting harm minimisation and recovery, enabling clients to set and work towards their own goals.
- Supporting clients to develop life skills, manage relationships, build social networks, and access external services and community resources.
- Facilitating group activities and structured interventions as part of our in-house recovery programme.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary setting, coordinating with other professionals to create integrated care plans.
About you:
- Experience of working with multiple disadvantage individuals, including those with substance use, mental health issues, or histories of offending and trauma.
- Proven ability to provide personalised assessments, support planning, and casework.
- Strong understanding of the challenges that disrupt clients' journeys towards independence, such as substance misuse, mental health issues, and domestic violence.
- Excellent crisis management skills and the ability to respond effectively to challenging situations.
- A strong understanding of the strengths and recovery model and experience of working within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE).

How does the Graduate Scheme work?
You’ll be joining our charity as a permanent member of the team.
Our Graduate Scheme provides two years of training and career development and we ask candidates to commit to staying with the charity for at least this duration.
After completing your first year of the programme there will be the opportunity for everyone on the graduate scheme to take on a new challenge and apply for a promotion to Senior Education Worker, subject to satisfactory performance in role.
And after you’ve completed the two-year scheme, you’re guaranteed a position with us - our Graduate Scheme roles are permanent jobs.
New job roles and further promotions are regularly available - many of our Education Workers go on to become Centre Leaders running our centres, or take up promotion opportunities in central operational or Head Office roles.
What could my day look like?
The Education Worker role is a frontline, fast-paced and rewarding role where no two weeks will look the same. A typical day will have different activities, possibly spread between the IntoUniversity centre, partner schools and the offices of a corporate partner.
In the morning, you might be setting off with resources to run a workshop for sixth-form students in their secondary school. In the afternoon you may be setting up the classroom ahead of running Primary Academic Support for young people in your IntoUniversity centre. On other days, you may be travelling to a corporate partner to run a business simulation workshop for 15 year-olds or leading a group of final year primary school students on a campus visit for their graduation.
As an Education Worker, you’ll always be delivering the programme as part of your centre team, which means that any delivery is always a team effort.

About the Role:
As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted, person-centred interventions for individuals within SHP’s Camden Adult Pathway Hostels. Your role will involve holding a designated caseload and working closely with the wider client group through our in-house recovery programme. With a strong focus on harm minimisation, dual diagnosis, and strengths/recovery frameworks, you’ll help to empower service users to make positive changes and progress towards independence.
This is a unique role that requires you to build relationships of trust with service users, many of whom have faced significant barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use, and complex trauma. Your support will enable them to access crucial assessments, interventions, and treatments, enhancing their ability to utilise external statutory and community resources. You will also provide guidance and best practice standards to Project Workers, helping to set a benchmark of excellence in delivering complex needs support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist interventions and personalised support for service users, including those with complex needs such as mental health issues, substance use, and physical health challenges.
- Develop and implement person-centred support plans, monitor individual progress, and ensure best practice is adhered to within the service.
- Work dynamically with service managers, project workers, and other professionals within the Camden Accommodation Pathway to deliver tailored interventions and improve outcomes for service users.
- Foster proactive working relationships with Adult Social Care, Health, Mental Health, and other specialist providers to improve access and opportunities for service users.
- Advocate for service users with experience of rough sleeping, helping them access the necessary assessment, intervention, and treatment to achieve recovery and maintain stability.
- Facilitate group work and support the in-house recovery programme, promoting a holistic approach to recovery and independence.
About You:
- Demonstrable experience working with individuals facing homelessness or complex needs, such as mental health challenges, substance use, and physical health issues. Experience in residential or accommodation-based services is a plus.
- A strong understanding of the health and social care sector, including how to navigate between and across specialties. A deep understanding of the barriers service users face on their journey towards independence, such as domestic violence, anger management, and learning impairments.
- Excellent person-centred engagement skills, group work facilitation, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. Strong team-working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
- The ability to create, develop, and implement support plans, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and maintain high standards.
- A passion for supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society and the resilience to work within a challenging but rewarding environment. You will also have the ability to critically reflect on your own practice and continuously strive for improvement.
